Experience the beauty of Montana in this newer 2700 square foot 4 bedroom/3.5 bath home with a modern style on 5 wooded acres with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains at their finest. Spend time relaxing on the wrap around deck and take in the scenery of Spoon Lake and the Great Northern Mountain. A great natural lookout sits on this property, just take a few minutes to jaunt up the hill and capture an amazing panoramic view of the many Glacier National Park peaks. This home sits high on the mountain a few minutes north of Columbia Falls only three miles from access to the North Fork River and twelve miles to the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Spend a peaceful morning in the canoe on Spoon Lake watching and listening to the Loon and seeing the Eagles grabbing ducks and fish out of the water. No kidding! If you are interested in an easy and beautiful hike there is a trail just a little further down the road that goes over a creek and around most of Spoon Lake. Peak outside at anytime during the day and catch moose or deer trailing through the yard.
You can quickly get to Whitefish and spend the day at Whitefish Mountain Resort hiking, ziplining, mountain biking and much more. Spend the day shopping and end it with some fine dining. Glacier National Park is an all day adventure and only a 15 minute drive from the house. Take the kids to the water slide park in Columbia Falls or go to the Family Fun Center and race around on the go-carts. If you are still up for even more fun go on a guided float down the scenic North Fork River and learn to fly-fish. Visit the Hungry Horse Dam and learn it's history. You can spend the morning picking huckleberry's on the property and bake yourself a pie! Huckleberry's can be hard to come by but not here. There is so much to do it's hard to list it all. End your day at the fire pit and breathe some fresh Montana air!
Last season I was very honored and excited to welcome Brett Farve and his family to stay at the home. They were very complimentary of their stay and even signed a few footballs for friends and family!

Peter and I have lived in Montana for 16 and 29 years respectively. We enjoy hiking and sightseeing with our family, as well as continually working to make our property the best place to stay in our corner of the woods! Peter has built and designed three homes in the area: lodge style, contemporary, and modern. In addition to our vacation rental home we also own a hair studio in Whitefish.
Shannon purchased this house in 2007
I chose the location for this home because of its wilderness environment and spectacular views.
We, the Littlejohns, Melgaards, & Cyr families arrived about 3 hours ago. Soooo very much excitement going with the house and all the surroundings. As parents it is one of our joys in life to be a part of their lives and being with them. (Guestbook: I'll be back later...dinner to help with, Mother Littlejohn)
Saturday following Aug 1 =)
Our journey has come to an end =( Most were tired, some of us are home in Cleveland already - all have mixed feeling about going (but I could stay 7 more days at least) The world called Montana is absolutely wonderful, please take care of her. Thank you for making our trip comfortable, relaxing, and able to be enjoyed in the style we are accustomed. The world and the people therein are all to be enjoyed and loved.
The Cyrs, Melgaards, and Littlejohns
The entire process from beginning to end was easy and professional. The house exceeded our expectations. Clean and spacious. Includes hot tub, pool table, outdoor grill, firepit -plenty of firewood, outdoor chairs, balcony that looks over a beautiful valley. Quick walk to two different lakes -one with a canoe- wireless, satellite TV's. 20 minutes from glacier national easy drive back and forth and 10 minutes away from a grocery store.
The house comfortable fit 11 without a problem. The accommodations Shannon was a wonderful host. They thought of everything. The best house rental we have ever had.
Thanks for hosting- highly recommend!!!!
We had a group of 7 and stayed for 4 nights. Very modern home with all the amenities was soooo appreciated after long hikes. And the kids (12, 12 and 17) loved the downstairs area for sleeping and hanging out (pool table was a huge hit). Master bath is a must see! Spent most of our free time on the deck looking out over the mountains. Great overall stay.
We booked this house for our family to celebrate my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary. Even with 6 adults and 2 small children there was plenty of room for everyone. The house is really nice and the owners have put a lot of thoughtful amenities into it to make it super comfortable. It was a perfect base for trips into Glacier National Park, but we also very much enjoyed the time we spent at the house. You always wonder what a place is really going to be like when you look at the photos in the listing, and in this case the photos don't really do it justice. I would not hesitate to rent here again and I would definitely recommend it to friends.
We have been using VRBO to rent vacations homes for 7 years and this luxury home nestled in the mountains was one of the best. It had everything we needed to accommodate our 7 family members. We went to Glacier several times, went rafting, made a trip over to Whitefish for dinner and even spent one day just hanging at the house. We played badminton, horseshoes, went canoeing and then had a fire that evening and roasted hot dogs. The view from this home is just amazing and the modern interior is a very cool contrast to the rustic outdoor setting! We couldn't be happier and thank you very much to Shannon for making herself so available to us.
We had a great time at this house. Everyone from my 90 year old grandmother to my 6 year old niece loved the house (my nice even said it was the best place she had ever been). The only downside is that you will spend less time in Glacier because you won't want to leave the house.
I was afraid the house wouldn't be as nice as it looked in the photos, but it was better. The pool table and hot tub were great and the views from the balconies were amazing.
We had a wonderful time. The house location was great. We were within 20 minutes of GNP and about 10 minutes away from town with a grocery store and restaurants. The house still felt secluded, however. It was extremely clean and well stocked. The house is great for a group, with lots of entertainment options for all ages. Shannon and Peter were both very helpful and easy to contact with all of my questions. Thank you so much for lovely stay.
