|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Experience all the beauty and hospitality of Montana, in this newer 2700 square foot 4 bedroom/3.5 bath home, with a modern art deco style. This home sits high on the mountain about 15 minutes North of Columbia Falls, Montana. The home is only three miles from access to the North Fork River (a popular river for swimming, floating, fishing, and rafting) and is also conveniently located only twelve miles from the West entrance of Glacier National Park.
When you are not out and about, spend time relaxing on the wrap around deck taking in the scenery of this 5 acre, beautifully wooded property, with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, and the Great Northern. There is plenty to explore in and around this home! Take a few minutes to jaunt up the hill behind the house, onto neighboring Forest Service land, where a cliff offers amazing panoramic views of the mountains, Bailey Lake, and Spoon Lake. Prefer to take it slower? Spend a peaceful morning in the canoe on Spoon Lake watching and listening to the Loon. If you are lucky, you might even see an eagle grab a fish out of the water. No kidding!
The home is an easy two minute walk from the Spoon Lake public access (where the canoe is stored), or if you are interested in an easy and beautiful hike, there is a trail just a little further down the road that goes through the woods, over the creek and down to a little beach, that is also public access (The owners prefer this access for swimming). The trail continues on around most of Spoon Lake, and up into the woods, to connect with the Canyon Creek trail system.
You can quickly get to Whitefish and spend the day at Whitefish Mountain Resort hiking, ziplining, mountain biking and much more. Spend the day shopping and end it with some fine dining. Glacier National Park is a totally amazing all day(s) adventure, and only a 15 minute drive from the house. Take the kids to the water slide park in Columbia Falls or go to the Family Fun Center and race around on the go-carts. If you are still up for even more fun go on a guided float down the scenic North Fork River and learn to fly-fish. Visit the Hungry Horse Dam and learn it's history. You can spend the morning picking huckleberry's on the property and bake yourself a pie! Huckleberry's can be hard to come by but not here. There is so much to do it's hard to list it all. End your day at one of the properties multiple fire pits, or relax in the hot tub. Gather your friends and family for a game of backyard volley ball, or horse shoes and enjoy breathing in some fresh Montana air!

Peter and I have lived in Montana for 17 and 30 years respectively. We enjoy hiking and sightseeing with our family, as well as continually working to make our property the best place to stay in our corner of the woods! Peter has built and designed three homes in the area: lodge style, contemporary, and modern. In addition to our vacation rental home we also own a hair studio in Whitefish.
Shannon purchased this house in 2007
We chose this property because for its forest setting, spectacular views, nearby lake, and huckleberries!
Everyone falls in love with our property for the same reason: it has incredible views, awe inspiring sun rises, and amazing sunsets. If you are looking for a beautiful home and property to be your home base while exploring the area, then this property will not disappoint!
We, the Littlejohns, Melgaards, & Cyr families arrived about 3 hours ago. Soooo very much excitement going with the house and all the surroundings. As parents it is one of our joys in life to be a part of their lives and being with them. (Guestbook: I'll be back later...dinner to help with, Mother Littlejohn)
Saturday following Aug 1 =)
Our journey has come to an end =( Most were tired, some of us are home in Cleveland already - all have mixed feeling about going (but I could stay 7 more days at least) The world called Montana is absolutely wonderful, please take care of her. Thank you for making our trip comfortable, relaxing, and able to be enjoyed in the style we are accustomed. The world and the people therein are all to be enjoyed and loved.
The Cyrs, Melgaards, and Littlejohns
Looking east to the Rockies from the deck - and just about every room - we enjoyed a glorious sunset as the setting sun illuminated the mountains. Quiet, comfortable, thoughtfully appointed, cooking basics (like olive oil and spices) already there - and a hot tub, too!
Delightful stay. Thanks, Shannon!
What a beautiful place to stay while visiting Glacier National Park. The views from the house were amazing. Very comfortable, well appointed house. Great location, easy to get to the park, Columbia Falls and Whitefish. After a day of hiking the hot tub was a treat and much needed!
Firstly, not enough can be said about the house. It is just as beautiful as the pictures suggest if not better. Very well thought out, more than enough bedding and linen arrangements for huge parties (we were 12!). The views are spectacular and you might be able to spot a deer or two or catch a game of volleyball.
Secondly, we are extremely grateful to the hosts. We were in a bit of a pickle with not being able to set off at checkout time due to car troubles. Peter let us hang out around the house and was really understanding about the situation. And best of all, let us play with his adorable puppy, Max who kept us exceptionally good company through the hours.
Would highly recommend the place. Do not miss the starry skies from the patio. And again, thanks Peter, we all miss Max.
Every kind of activity available from canoeing to volleyball, pool table etc is available. Home very well appointed and was enjoyed thoroughly by all.
MINOR issues included noisy ceiling fan in MBR, no tray or shelf in MBR bath to hold soap and shampoo, only 1 large coffee mug, slow coffee maker.
Overall everything clean. beds comfortable etc. Highly recommended.
were at a family gathering for a wedding in the park- 3 couples stayed at this house - we weren't there much but it was all as described and way nicer than staying in a hotel
Two families lived a comfortable mountain life here for 5 days. Great day trips between Whitefish and Glacier National Park provided a true Montana vibe and the treasure of snow caped peaks at enormous heights. The deck and game room were enjoyed daily and we used the kitchen every day for 8 people. Views from the property in general are quite good. North Fork river is only a few minutes away. Thanks for use of the bear spray, carried it but did not use it. Nice.
