Experience the beauty of Montana in this newer 2700 square foot 4 bedroom/3.5 bath home with a modern style on 5 wooded acres with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains at their finest. Spend time relaxing on the wrap around deck and take in the scenery of Spoon Lake and the Great Northern Mountain. A great natural lookout sits on this property, just take a few minutes to jaunt up the hill and capture an amazing panoramic view of the many Glacier National Park peaks. This home sits high on the mountain a few minutes north of Columbia Falls only three miles from access to the North Fork River and twelve miles to the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Spend a peaceful morning in the canoe on Spoon Lake watching and listening to the Loon and seeing the Eagles grabbing ducks and fish out of the water. No kidding! If you are interested in an easy and beautiful hike there is a trail just a little further down the road that goes over a creek and around most of Spoon Lake. Peak outside at anytime during the day and catch moose or deer trailing through the yard.
You can quickly get to Whitefish and spend the day at Whitefish Mountain Resort hiking, ziplining, mountain biking and much more. Spend the day shopping and end it with some fine dining. Glacier National Park is an all day adventure and only a 15 minute drive from the house. Take the kids to the water slide park in Columbia Falls or go to the Family Fun Center and race around on the go-carts. If you are still up for even more fun go on a guided float down the scenic North Fork River and learn to fly-fish. Visit the Hungry Horse Dam and learn it's history. You can spend the morning picking huckleberry's on the property and bake yourself a pie! Huckleberry's can be hard to come by but not here. There is so much to do it's hard to list it all. End your day at the fire pit and breathe some fresh Montana air!
Last season I was very honored and excited to welcome Brett Farve and his family to stay at the home. They were very complimentary of their stay and even signed a few footballs for friends and family!

Peter and I have lived in Montana for 16 and 29 years respectively. We enjoy hiking and sightseeing with our family, as well as continually working to make our property the best place to stay in our corner of the woods! Peter has built and designed three homes in the area: lodge style, contemporary, and modern. In addition to our vacation rental home we also own a hair studio in Whitefish.
Shannon purchased this house in 2007
I chose the location for this home because of its wilderness environment and spectacular views.
We, the Littlejohns, Melgaards, & Cyr families arrived about 3 hours ago. Soooo very much excitement going with the house and all the surroundings. As parents it is one of our joys in life to be a part of their lives and being with them. (Guestbook: I'll be back later...dinner to help with, Mother Littlejohn)
Saturday following Aug 1 =)
Our journey has come to an end =( Most were tired, some of us are home in Cleveland already - all have mixed feeling about going (but I could stay 7 more days at least) The world called Montana is absolutely wonderful, please take care of her. Thank you for making our trip comfortable, relaxing, and able to be enjoyed in the style we are accustomed. The world and the people therein are all to be enjoyed and loved.
The Cyrs, Melgaards, and Littlejohns
Looking east to the Rockies from the deck - and just about every room - we enjoyed a glorious sunset as the setting sun illuminated the mountains. Quiet, comfortable, thoughtfully appointed, cooking basics (like olive oil and spices) already there - and a hot tub, too!
Delightful stay. Thanks, Shannon!
What a beautiful place to stay while visiting Glacier National Park. The views from the house were amazing. Very comfortable, well appointed house. Great location, easy to get to the park, Columbia Falls and Whitefish. After a day of hiking the hot tub was a treat and much needed!
Firstly, not enough can be said about the house. It is just as beautiful as the pictures suggest if not better. Very well thought out, more than enough bedding and linen arrangements for huge parties (we were 12!). The views are spectacular and you might be able to spot a deer or two or catch a game of volleyball.
Secondly, we are extremely grateful to the hosts. We were in a bit of a pickle with not being able to set off at checkout time due to car troubles. Peter let us hang out around the house and was really understanding about the situation. And best of all, let us play with his adorable puppy, Max who kept us exceptionally good company through the hours.
Would highly recommend the place. Do not miss the starry skies from the patio. And again, thanks Peter, we all miss Max.
Every kind of activity available from canoeing to volleyball, pool table etc is available. Home very well appointed and was enjoyed thoroughly by all.
MINOR issues included noisy ceiling fan in MBR, no tray or shelf in MBR bath to hold soap and shampoo, only 1 large coffee mug, slow coffee maker.
Overall everything clean. beds comfortable etc. Highly recommended.
were at a family gathering for a wedding in the park- 3 couples stayed at this house - we weren't there much but it was all as described and way nicer than staying in a hotel
Two families lived a comfortable mountain life here for 5 days. Great day trips between Whitefish and Glacier National Park provided a true Montana vibe and the treasure of snow caped peaks at enormous heights. The deck and game room were enjoyed daily and we used the kitchen every day for 8 people. Views from the property in general are quite good. North Fork river is only a few minutes away. Thanks for use of the bear spray, carried it but did not use it. Nice.
