Relaxing views of the ocean, quiet sounds of nature in a tranquil area. The apartment has two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, laundry, great common area with a beautiful kitchen overlooking the ocean. The main area is on the first floor where you can have a great time cooking and watching the tv or just the ocean, seat in the comfortable chairs of the living room and feel the ocean breeze while reading a book or just browsing the internet. Have your afternoon tea or coffee at the balcony. Walk the quiet beach, seat in front of it, feel the water at your feet.
We are both 'puertorriqueños,' born and raised. Reinaldo from the capital and Arlene from the south of the island. We meet while working on a big project in Puerto Rico, and 11 years later, we still together, enjoying everything we do. We love to travel, taste new restaurants, have a good cup of coffee, spend time with our families and good friends.
Arlene Morales-Negrón purchased this apartment in 2012
We were looking for a beachfront property were we can relax on the weekends from our stressful jobs, and not far from our home. A place to enjoy, reflect, and a have a little bit of paradise within the big paradise of Puerto Rico, all year long. We have enjoyed every step of it, the furnishing, decorations, and much more..is an on going project, so we have something added to it every know and then.
The location of the apartment has the benefit of being in front of the beach, and at the same time, have a little forest at one side. It's like having two great locations in one. Also, it reminds me of my childhood years at the beach.
We stayed at Reinaldo and Arlene's condo towards the end of December 2015 for one week.
The condo is well located close to all the major eastern PR attractions- El Yunque, Biobay, Old San Juan, etc. With that said, a rental car is necessary to get around - nothing (beside the beach) is walking distance.
Arlene was very helpful and had given us suggested places to visit and eat out based on our preferences.
Upon arrival we found the condo to be very clean and well appointed. The pictures were quite accurate.
We found it to be a great home base for us to see the attractions. The beach adjacent to the complex had some strong waves - too strong for our kids, so we chose to spend most of our time on Luquillo Beach (really family friendly with tame waves) only 20 minutes away.
The only issue we had on our stay was a musty smell in the condo. We spoke to Reinaldo about it. He was very responsive, kind, and helpful. He explained that it was likely related to the unexpected amount of humidity and bought some dehumidifiers that same day which helped some.
All in all we had a great trip and enjoyed PR very much.
We had the pleasure of staying at Arlene and Reinaldo's beautiful home just after Christmas. We stayed with our daughter and son in law. The property is lovely. The pictures don't do it justice. It has two huge bedrooms with private baths so it is perfect for two couples staying together. We bought groceries and ate delicious breakfasts on the balcony every morning. The kitchen is gorgeous and wonderfully equipped. We grilled out and had dinner in one night after a busy day sightseeing. The complex is very clean and well maintained. We used the pool and beach every day. It was great to walk and relax along the beach. You definitely need a car when staying here. It is away from the city. That was a plus for us. At night all you can hear are birds and coqui frogs! Within a 15 minute drive there are any stores you would need. Ralph's supermarket was great and we even found a movie theater not far away that we visited one evening. Stumbled on El Parilla restaurant just up the road in Loiza and we loved it. A close drive to El Yunque, and near to Fajardo where the ferries are to Culebra and Vieques. Anyone could stay here and have a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us.
We loved the accommodations and attention to details. The proximity to the beach was fantastic! We would recommend this location to anyone.
I want to start by saying that this property is the absolute best I have seen out there. The pictures and description of this place is as accurate as one can get. The beach is right next to you and its so beautiful. You have this complete peace of paradise to enjoy. The property was so clean and its like being home. Super super clean .... We really enjoyed every moment here. We will be back soon. Anyone that's considering some true R&R this place has it all. Walk's on the clean beach, or just lay around in the sand or pool. We loved it !!! Thanks again Reinaldo & Arlene. Melissa G.
This was our first stay in Puerto Rico, so when we booked a condo, we were really unsure of the perfect location. We chose Rio Grande because of its proximity to San Juan (about 35 minutes away), Fajardo (also about 35 minutes away), and El Yunque (about 15 minutes away). It worked out to be a great location, despite the relative lack of dining options in the area.
We loved being a bit "away from it all", and the condo itself was very nice. It was clean, well-appointed, and had a nice view of the ocean from the balcony. We found security to be helpful and friendly. It was a joy to sleep with the windows open listening to the sound of the waves hitting the shore.
We found the beach to be beautiful! The pool area was very nice, although the pool chairs were a bit uncomfortable. We were surprised that we were one of the only occupied units in the complex during the week of our stay, but it picked up a little bit on the weekend.
All in all, the weather was perfect, the location was beautiful, and the condo was one that we would definitely consider renting again!
P.S. Some must-do things if you do go to PR: El Yunque is gorgeous; the Ecotours bioluminescent bay tour is fantastic; lunch in the Guavate area is a must, if you love smoked meats like pork, chicken, and turkey, and the live salsa bands on the weekend are so much fun! Finally, Saturday night in the area of Santurce near the 100 year-old farmers market was a wonderful mix of restaurants, bars, and live music everywhere! It was a fantastic time.
The property was great and exactly what we were looking for. The unit was very clean and felt just like home. Our 8 month old son enjoyed the pool and would fall asleep when we walked on the beach :). The owners are very responsive and ensured our stay went well. This was our first time staying at a non-hotel property for vacation and it couldn't have gone any better.
Great and tranquil location just a few minutes away from big hotels, restaurants, outlet mall, golf courses, and beaches. Near Puerto Rico's top attractions things to do in Puerto Rico, like San Juan (less than 25 minutes away), El Yunque rain forest (10 minutes), bioluminiscent bay in fajardo (15 minutes), ferry to Culebra and Vieques islands (15 minutes), and much more. Lots of things to do, for everyone...It doesn't matter if you are alone, a couple, a family, you will have lots to do around. Or you can stay at the apartment, relaxing, reading a good book, just sitting in front of the beach, or relaxing at the pool.
