This little cabin has been in our family for years. It has fantastic views, and offers quiet solitude away from it all. We use it for family overflow when the relatives come calling and are also happy to rent it as people request.
Located on the mid coast of beautiful Maine, this cabin offers an opportunity for a budget vacation in Northport, near Bayside, and allows you the opportunity to explore a beautiful state during peak vacation season. There are ample places to sail or swim, fish, sightsee, or find lighthouses. Or, enjoy the wonderful local restaurants, mid coast events, and nature's offerings.
Stayed for 4 days at the Red cottage. It has a nice well equipped kitchen. Everything was clean and functional. The bed was comfortable. Nice sitting porch on the back. Lovely area to walk, just off the main roads between Belfast and Camden.
Suggestions for improvement would be to trim out a few of the trees to allow a view of the water.
Add a table to the deck, as this is really the place you want to sit.
Add comfortable chairs for sitting.
These things would not cost a lot, but would make the cottage more comfortable for spending time in.
It really was a great option as an affordable place to stay in the midcoast, and very nice.
We really enjoyed our stay in this small cabin right on the water, however the biggest selling point for us was the "Million Dollar View," and unfortunately when we go there we found that the view was largely blocked by trees and branches that had grown up from the woods below.
Everything else was great, were just disappointed when we wanted to sit on the small deck and enjoy the view, but all we could see were trees.
Beautiful setting, cute and clean rustic cabin, friendly host. Snug but has everything you might need, and an easy drive from a wide variety of activities.
What a great trip! Walter was so accommodating! The view was amazing! It was truly a little home away from home. Excellent homes nearby and great people up north! Will definitely return!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Little Red Cabin. Walter was very nice and made sure we were well taken care of. The information booklet he had prepared for cabin guests was a real time saver and gave us some very good tips to get us going on restaurants, attractions and amenities. We hope to return again soon!
If you want a classic Maine experience, this is the place. A cozy, rustic cabin with an absolutely phenomenal view. We're Mainers ourselves, and were pleasantly surprised to find this place in the midst of an area we thought we knew well. The hosts were exceptionally considerate, and I really, really appreciate the fact that they're providing an affordable getaway like this. You won't find a better deal.
