A sailboat on the rooftops of the Eternal City

Sleeps2

Property type studio
Minimum Stay 2 nights

Overview

About the property

The studio is really small (about 10 sq.mt.) with just the room for a double bed, a small kitchenette, a tiny bathroom with low ceiling where the shower water goes all over the place.

The real value of the place is the terrace on two levels which allows a stunning view of the historical center of Rome to 360°.

From S. Peter, to the Pantheon, to the Vittoriano at Piazza Venezia, the surrounding rooftops and down into the ruins of Largo Torre Argentina where Julius Cesar was killed.

Inside the apartment, the view of the Vittoriano looks like a painting on the wall.

You can reach by feet almost every spot of your interest.

A final info: the elevator reaches the 5th floor then you have to climb one more flight of stairs to reach the apartment.

Stay @ Giorgio's!

  • 4 of 5

Arrival at the apartment was quite convenient from the train station. Bus/trolley/taxi all run close to the apartment. Apartment within 20 minute walking distance from train station, Piazza Navona and all attractions. Apartment was adequate, as it is very small, but you are staying for the view which was spectacular. Market, gelato, restaurants all convenient near by. A few suggestions for your future guests ~ food take-out is common but on the occasion you'd like to eat in, appliances of a multiple cup coffee pot and a small toaster oven would be helpful to eat-in. It is a shame that a small BBQ was not available as the idea of cooking al fresco on the terrace with the amazing view would round out the stay. Thanks to Giorgio for his quick responses to emails and requests. Overall, we'd stay there again.

Loved the terraces

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I greatly enjoyed the two large private terraces, and the very convenient location of this apartment. The bed was also very comfortable, and the kitchenette very convenient (the coldest refrigerator on our month-long trip!), and the fast Wi-Fi very much appreciated. Yes, the interior living space is quite small, including the bathroom, but we thought these were minor inconveniences compared to bringing our wine and meals to the terraces to enjoy the panoramic views of sunrise and sunset over Centro Storico Roma.

There was a little mix up on our check in, with some confusion over the time of check in, and the servicing of the apartment from the prior guests, but we were assured this was a one-time event, and everything went very smoothly after that.

We really enjoyed the neighborhood. There is a wonderful gelato shop just next door, a very convenient supermarket just around the next corner, and a cafe/bar for coffee and delicious pastries two doors down. The river and the Trastevere area is a short 5-minute walk away, and there is a bicycle rental nearby. We rented bikes, rode along the Tiber River, then stopped in the Trastevere for lunch. We enjoy craft beer as well as wine, and there is an excellent beer brewery/pub about 5 minutes' walk. There are excellent artisan leather shops and craftsman shops nearby. We also walked as far as the Spanish Steps and the Colosseum from the apartment, each about a 20- to 30 minutes' walk.

There are several bus and tram stops nearby, making access to the Vatican Museum easy. Some trams did vibrate the building, but this is a big city, so we thought it was no different from New York or other big cities we have visited.

Owner's Response: I want to apologize for all the discomfort suffered at the check in it could happen as we don't leave nearby the studio. I also want to thank once more our lovely guests for being so understanding.

Stunning View

  • 4 of 5

The view is what this place is all about. Yes the shower situation isn't perfection, but it's fine. The real downside to it is that the hot water runs out quickly. The other negative we ran into was that we were freezing. We stayed there in January and were very cold at night. A space heater and extra blankets would have been appreciated. Bed was comfortable. Giorgio was a great host and replied to emails promptly. We really appreciated that he allowed us to have a late check out. I definitely recommend staying here for the view.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review, actually I know my little studio is not very suitable for the winter season, above all we had an unconventional cold this year in Rome. We will treasure the suggestions regarding blankets and space heater. The advice of our guests is always useful for improving the service. Thanks again and hope to see you soon, maybe in the spring or summer when the terrace gives the best of himself. Giorgio

Great views.

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was pretty much as advertised. We loved the rooftop views. There was also a cab stand around the corner which made it convenient to get around to the sights that we didn't want to walk to.

Great 360 degree veiw of old rome

  • 5 of 5

We had the owner arrange a pick up at the CDG airport for 30 euro and was waiting for us when we arrived. The property is close to everything and you can actually see St. Peter's, Pantheon, and Altare Della Patria. Room was very small, but the 2 patios and views made the stay very enjoyable.
