Old Crow’s Nest is situated in the gated community of Bay Creek Golf Resort within a few hundred feet of the private Chesapeake Bay beach. Several holes of the highly acclaimed Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses can be seen from the balcony.
This home has four bedrooms, two of which open on to a second floor balcony with great views of the lake behind the house and the replicated Plantation Point Lighthouse. The home sleeps six comfortably and has three separate living areas so everyone can do their own thing. There is a first floor bedroom with a double bed and a sitting room right across the hall from it. The first floor bathroom adjacent to the first floor bedroom has a roomy shower.
The luxurious kitchen with the granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances is open to the living room. Right off the kitchen is a breakfast room that also has great views of the bay and the lake. There are three bedrooms on the second floor. One bedroom has two twin beds. The other two bedrooms open onto a balcony that overlooks the lake and offers views of the bay and sunsets across the bay. The master bedroom has its own bath and a queen bed and the other bedroom has a double bed. The Hall bath has a tub/shower combo. The 3rd floor is an additional living space with a small kitchenette, a comfy sitting area and a game table with expansive views across the bay.
This is Eastern Shore living at it best!!
Lovely, spacious home. Beautiful location. Short walk to a pristine beach. Near pretty Cape Charles, wild life refuge etc. If you come in the fall/winter you should bring a few blankets- they do not provide any other than the bed spreads and a throw or two. Same for dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, etc. Well stocked with dishes, cook ware. We brought our own folding table as their table only seats 6. We enjoyed our time there. We didn't see any old crows but did see many beautiful birds!
Love cape charles. "Bayside Villiage" where this house sits is our favorite neighborhood within Bay Creek resort. Nice private beaches for community within walking distance, health club in community, beautiful views of bay and both golf courses. Unlike some other neighborhoods, Bayside Village homes have a definite "beach" design. Reminiscent of beach cottages, but gone upscale they have a casual elegance to them. This house has 4 bedrooms, and an bonus room on the top level. loved the balcony off the bedrooms. The sun room off the kitchen was great for breakfast and playing cards with the family.
Only two small downsides. First, the living room has a loveseat but not a couch. Would prefer a larger couch to sit more people. Second, was there during blistering hot spell (mid-90s and humid). The downstairs AC could keep it cool, but the upstairs was struggling. First night could only cool to 76, other nights were 74 sometimes 72. Those 2 minor issues had me take away one star.
The Cape Charles Beach is perfect for young families. Never crowded, no big waves, shallow water close in to shore. The fishing pier is free with fishing gear rentals available in town. Jet ski rentals at the Town Harbor. Great shops and restaurants on the main street one block away. Kiptopeke State Park with a great beach, fishing pier, boat ramps and nature trails only 6 miles away and near the Eastern Shore of Virginia Nation Wildlife Refuge also with trails and bird watching.
Only 1.5 hours north is Chincoteague and the Assateague National Seashore where wild ponies (Misty of Chincoteague) roam.
If you want to spend a day or two with day trips, the Virginia Beach ocean front is a little over 1 hour away with loads of shops and nightlife. Williamsburg and Busch Gardens is 80 miles and the Virginia Aquarium is about 70 minutes away.
Golf: World class Bay Creek golf courses are just 5 minutes away. An hour away in Virginia Beach are numerous other golf courses.
