Guestbook comments from the owner

We just enjoyed a great weekend at this amazing spot! The view of the Hudson River is breathtaking. The hosts are friendly and very accommodating. The location is perfect for visits to Highland Falls, Peekskill, Cold Spring, and Bear Mountain. What a great place to take your significant other. The romantic sunrises/sunsets alone are worth the stay!

Most Beautiful spot in the Hudson Valley

  • 5 of 5

This home is an incredible spot to stay when visiting the Hudson Valley or West Point. The view is breathtaking and the owners are very gracious and accommodating. We have stayed here during the summer and the fall, and both are great options. While we have been in the area to visit our cadet at USMA, West Point, we took the time this summer to also visit NYC and Cooperstown. The drive to both was very easy and enjoyable. I recommend this spot to any in the area.

Beautiful setting, views and comfortable furnishings

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay and within close proximity to West Point. Our grandson is a cadet and the location was very convenient to access the post, restaurants and grocery shopping.

Occasionally heard footsteps upstairs but not at all disruptive.

Towels were replaced after a few days into our stay which was a nice touch. Josh also brought me a cord to charge my Ipad which was very much appreciated!

We will definitely return for another stay hopefully when the trees are turning.

Beautiful views, comfortable stay

  • 5 of 5

The views were amazing, the apartment comfortable with everything we needed. We got to meet owners Yvonne and Josh, who were very helpful and friendly. The location was great - we were busy with side trips to Storm King, Bear Mountain, and the Hudson walkway, all close by. And when we were at the apartment, we watched boats on the river or the family of deer who wandered through the woods near the property. We had a lovely fall weekend.

Beautiful location and convenient to USMA

  • 5 of 5

The property is extremely beautiful with a charming 1 BR apartment off of a main house. Amazing views of the Hudson River. It is very convenient to USMA and the surrounding area. We arrived very late but Yvonne had everything ready as described. Extremely nice to work with-would highly recommend.

A great location, with the best hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

If your looking for a place to settle in and relax......this is it! The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. The space offered everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. Though we only saw them upon arrival, Yvonne and Josh were great hosts.

Planning to make this stop again!

Beautiful serene private setting on a mountain top

  • 5 of 5

The Host: Yvonne and Josh were very professional, approachable and maintained excellent communication. They promptly responded to all emails and addressed any questions or concerns. Also they value the privacy of their guests. I had to make few changes to my booking and this was taken care in a very professional manner. Also I had a package that need to be shipped to my daughter in WestPoint and since the package cannot be shipped to a PO box the hosts were very kind to receive it for me. This to me shows their care and genuine interest to the needs of their guest.

The Terrain: the house is the last stop on the mountain top. Great views and excellent setting. Very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful natural forest setting. However to get to the top was an interesting drive especially for us flat landers. But the drive in itself was enjoyable. Now more than that if you are a runner like me you will enjoy the challenge. I did the uphill run to the rental place from Montgomery. It was a mile and half but very steep. I did not succeed the challenge after 3/4 mile but this

makes me wanting to come back for another stay in order to win the challenge.

The house: beautiful and simple but filled with warmth and closeness. We were a family of 5 and we did not feel crowded but rather felt bonded. The facilities are great. Every little thing you need for your stay has already been considered by the host and you will find them all including razor, feminine hygiene, simple medications, coffee powder, toiletries etc. they even had a new Chapstick. My profession involves some obsessive compulsive traits and I will vouch that the hosts have paid attention to fine details. Very impressed.

The kitchen has needed utensils but there is no multi stove. There is an electric single hot plate for cooking. We managed well and this is not an issue for us. Thee are sufficient cutlery, plates and coffee mugs. There are beer and wine glasses too. Outside there is a BBQ site. We did not have time to use this. The patio is private and really good.

The cost : I would say it is very reasonable and worth every dollar spent.

The drawback: mostly minor but for completion sake;

1. The steep uphill drive can be at times challenging (but not difficult or dangerous) especially if you have large vehicle. We have a 7 seater but AWD hence it was not very tough

2. At night you can hear now and then the door steps on the ceiling and the running of dogs. But no sounds after 1030pm.
