About Jacqui

This is our family beach house that we share with others when we aren't using it. Much of our family is retired military and my husband served in the US Navy. We've always dreamt of having a place for all the family to meet and spend time together because much of our family lives all over; we reside in the Metro Detroit area. We have lost some family and wish they were still with us, but we are thankful for each day with our family at the beach house.

Why Jacqui chose Oscoda Township

You can't beat the beautiful sugar sand beach in Oscoda and Oscoda has been named as one of the best beaches in Michigan. We love this beach house for all the lake views and with each bedroom having a doorwall that leads out to a large deck overlooking the beach and lake. It's relaxing and tough to leave and go home. It's a great place for family vacations. We hope you will enjoy our beach house as much as we do.

What makes this house unique

Great views from all the rooms. No one has to fight over a bedroom with a view. Even the pull out sleeper sofa has a view of the lake. Everyone wins! Both an upper for sitting/laying out, and a lower deck for dining. Outdoor tahiti shower too.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had another incredible family vacation with 3 generations at your beautiful beach home. Many hours were spent on the deck and playing by the lake. We constructed some epic sand castles that many people stopped to enjoy! We visited the lumberman's monument and Iargo springs. We went north to the Ceader Brooke trout farms and enjoyed Finding Dory at the Lake Theater. My 4 year old learned how to play go fish and really enjoyed the "feather ball" (tether ball). Her grandpa spent hours making Barbies talk and hang out on the beach. We enjoyed campfires while watching falling stars. We also had a front row seats for some incredible firework displays on the 4th! Happy Birthday America! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home. You are an excellent hostess.

Dream Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

One of the best vacations I've ever had. Beautiful beach house, with a wonderful view of the lake and sandy beach from every room! Homeowners were the epitome of hospitality. I can't wait to return and plan to the first time there is a vacancy! Loved every wonderful detail! Thank you!

Wonderful experience, great family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommended, wonderful experience from the very first contact with homeowners. Jacqui was extremely responsive to questions before, during, and after our stay—very friendly and easy to work with. House was very well maintained, nicely decorated and comfortable, plenty of room for extended family (four adults, four children ranging in age from 6 to 13). Finished garage/game room was a HUGE bonus, since it gave kids and adults separate spaces to relax indoors.

Lovely beach and lake views from every room, large deck space, well stocked kitchen (with super-helpful labels and pictures for everything, so there was no guesswork about what goes where), lots of indoor amenities like games/movies/books/Netflix/cable/internet/wii (not that we wanted to stay inside with the soft, well-maintained sandy beach right off the back deck)… truly, everything you need for vacation except for your food, clothes, and beach towels! House is located on a main road, so there is some minor road noise, but once you head to the back of the house, you pretty much feel like you’re in paradise. Residences are located on both sides of the property so the backyard feels very peaceful and private. The lake is shallow for a good distance, so it was great for swimming and playing in the water.

We didn't venture into town much (beautiful weather kept us happy on the beach), but house is a very short, easy drive to grocery stores, restaurants, and other Oscoda amenities.

This was our first time renting a beach house, and I honestly don’t think we could have made a better choice. Fantastic experience.

Beautifully maintained & all the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

We highly recommend this home to other families. The home easily accommodated extended family including grandparents and uncle- 5 adults and 4 small children. The kids especially loved the fish room and their own view of the beach and lake. Our favorite part was the beautiful sand, there was lots of room to build castles, play whiffle ball, and toss a football. We enjoyed the outdoor dining and the shaded deck area in the evening. Jacqui was extremely accommodating and quick to answer any of our questions before and during our stay. The home was stocked with every pan and dish we needed! And our favorite part in the kitchen was that everything is clearly labeled so the cook could have the helpers put the clean dishes away. We loved the newly done game room- great place on a rainy day or just for a fun competition. Jacqui and her family have truly thought of everything to make ones stay wonderful. If we ever own a vacation property would want to run it in the same fashion. You can tell Jacqui is truly dedicated to doing an excellent job. Thank you!

The best family getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year at Sunny Slope South. The property is just beautiful and relaxing. Jacqui is so easy to work with. The whole family comes, children & grandchildren. Everything is there that you would ever need, just bring food! We just love the upper & lower decks, watching the sunrise & sunset. We leave the sliding doors open just to hear the waves crashing at relaxing. Of course the grandchildren love the private beach "big sandbox" & the FUN fish bedroom. My 2 year old granddaughter said it was "amazing". We have made so many memories & ready for more...Already booked for next year!!

Beautiful Outdoor decks, Sandy Beach & clear water

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary during Labor Day week at Sunny Slopes. We had a wonderful experience overall. From the moment we requested information on the house the owner Jacqui was so helpful. She provided us with great insights on fun things to do in the area, recommendations on restaurants and made sure our whole trip was exactly what we wanted. Sunny slopes was a great vacation home to stay in. It was very clean, nicely decorated in a cute nautical theme, it came with everything we needed at this house which was nice so we didn't have pack anything extra except our beach towels and bikes. Our favorite things about the house was that it had a beautiful upper and lower deck to sit and relax. There were doors off all the bedrooms to access the upper deck. In the master bedroom we could open the sliding doors and hear the waves. The beach was so incredibly nice. It was smooth soft sand and we could take short walks down it. The water was crystal clear and very refreshing we went swimming everyday. It truly seemed like paradise when we sat down by the water and just looked out. It is hard to believe people fly half way around the country to go see what we have here in Michigan.

Thank you again Jacqui for top notch customers service and a beautiful home! We would definitely recommend Sunny Slopes to anyone.
