Camp Aloha is located 700 feet off Painted Church Road a few miles South of Captain Cook . The tarmac drive passes through forty foot Mango and Avocado Trees. Small patches of Timber Bamboo separate Macadamia orchards and different kinds of Banana patches. The B&B is at the top of drive with a view that looks out over Honaunau Bay and miles of Pacific Ocean shoreline. We only have one set of visitors at a time. It is very private.

Casey and I grew up near Seattle and lived there for some 55 years. The visits to Hawaii just kept getting longer and longer until we just moved here in 1999. Life can be good in Hawaii. The farm has enough space that our favorite dog can be free of a kennel. Hiking is Joan's main focus and I am closely anchored to the farm.
The Owner purchased this house in 1999
Our family had traveled most of Hawaii and found the last five visits were to this very area. Honaunau has a wonderful balance of sunshine and rain to sustain a beautiful tropical landscape relying very little on irrigation. It is one of the centers for small family farms in Hawaii.
Camp Aloha is quiet and private. We only have one set of visitors at a time.
A very comfortable property, quiet and peaceful, with a really nice lanai. Marilyn and I are not big on swimming, but I enjoyed having the pool available. It was clean, and a nice part of the view. Joan and Casey were very Hospitable, and helpful, when we had questions about the area, and the farm. There are good choices of things to do in the area, and the views are very nice.
This has to be the best deal on the big island! Joan and Casey took great care of us and made our trip so incredibly memorable. This is the authentic big island experience...complete with great suggestions on great food, fun and exploration...so much more than any bed & breakfast that we are aware of. I would highly recommend Camp Aloha to anybody considering a visit to the Island of Hawaii! Make some memories at Camp Aloha!
We had a wonderful relaxing 5 nights at Camp Aloha. The outdoor kitchen was just great to make a meal or just seat and take in the wonderful view and tropical location. Enjoyed a day trip to South Point and spent time in nearby Kona. The Coffee Shack cafe was a great place to stop and enjoy both the coffee and wonderful desserts.
Camp Aloha is a mom and pop working farm relying on volunteer labor. We are focused on sustainability and enriching the ecology of the Honaunau area. We have solar photovoltaic and hot water booster systems. It is our practice to not broadcast herbicides. Besides the 20 30 natural fish pond (starting January 28, 2017) we have other water features helping nature get on with life.
