About Blaine Schultz

I'm a railway engineer and get an opportunity to see some of the most spectacular scenery in British Columbia. I purchased this property as there's nothing else like it. I love fishing, backcountry travel, small towns, & beautiful scenery.

Blaine Schultz purchased this condo in 2008

Why Blaine Schultz chose British Columbia

Living in the Okanagan I had no intention of buying a vacation home in the Kootenays, but this condo and location in Kaslo just couldn't be ignored. Not being fully retired, I don't get there as much as I'd like to, but when I do, I fall in love all with it all over again. The people, hospitality, scenery & climate are awesome.

What makes this condo unique

Each time I visit Kaslo I spend an afternoon re-visiting downtown, stopping for a bowl of homemade soup and scrumpious bakery treat. I try to fit in the Jazz Fetival, River Walk, round of golf, or a few hours at Ainsworth Hot Springs. But for me, relaxing on the deck soaking in the fabulous views highlights my visit.

Spectacular stay in Kaslo

  • 5 of 5

My wife, two boys and I enjoyed a lovely stay at this great property. The photos show the amazing view but don't hold a candle to standing there and taking it in. Morning, evening and night -- it is breathtaking (the moonrise over the mountains our last night was fantastic). The condo is cozy, comfortable and well-equipped. The boys loved the bunkbed and we loved the comfy master bed! The condo is a pleasant walk or bike to town where we enjoyed the city beach, kayaking and SUP. The town has a great butcher, bakery, liquor store and well-stocked grocery store. Also enjoyed meals at BlueBelle Bistro and Rosewood. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the Kaslo River Trail - an easy hike but truly spectacular spots along the banks. A great walk if you have little kids or don't have time for a big hike -- or both!

My wife and I have rented quite a few VRBO properties but Blaine and Dale are by far the nicest owners. They were responsive and hospitable , as was Wanda as a local contact. We highly recommend staying at this property and will look to stay again when we get back to the Canadian Kootenays!

Great Condo

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I along with our three month old spent 4 nights at the condo and were very impressed with it. The condo was very clean and included everything we could have needed for our stay. The bed was comfortable and the view is spectacular! The patio is a fabulous outdoor space and we enjoyed our meals out there when it was nice enough to do so.

The only disappointment for me was the beach wasn't as nice for swimming as I had hoped but the beach area in town wasn't far and we had a great experience renting a paddle board and exploring the lake from there.

overall it was a great experience and I would totally recommend this condo to anyone!

Love Kaslo!

  • 4 of 5

We spent 3 nights in this lovely condo overlooking Kaslo Bay. Grandparents & 8 year old grandson. The condo itself is lovely and fully equipped with just about everything you could possibly need or want. The view is spectacular but the boat docks in front could definitely benefit from some serious upgrades. The hot tub, front lawn, and beach were lovely and we were able to leave our kayaks there for easy access to paddle around the bay. We'd definitely stay at this condo & complex again!

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately the docks and Marina do not belong to the Strata and I understand it's in receivership. Hopefully it will be cleaned up soon.

Kaslo Charm!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to explore this part of BC as a family, and this rental was exactly what we needed! Clean, convenient and relaxing. Having access to two bicycles, a lovely deck and a hot tub were all wonderful perks. The people we met in Kaslo were friendly and the quick access to the River Trail and Ainsworth Hot Springs were highlights of this excursion.
