It's August inTexas and when the rest of the state is parched, the water is as beautiful as ever here and the temperature is lower. Pretty little slice of heaven. One drawback was that site amenities list washer and dryer so I packed extra light bc I thought I could wash a load if need be. The washer and dryer were behind locked door. I didn't ask the owner for the use, I just assumed being that the door was locked they did not want us to use. Animals add to the serenity. Thanks for sharing your special place.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay again. There is a washer and dryer available for your use. It’s across the road in my shop. I’ll be sure to make notes for future guests. Hope to see you again

Amazing vacation home and setting

  • 5 of 5

The property matched the pictures and description in the listing but still had some very nice surprises. We were looking for a very comfortable, quiet, and relaxing place to stay in the hill country and found it!

Everywhere we looked there was something Chris designed, built, made, and improved upon. The home was furnished with very comfortable furniture and some interesting and beautiful antiques.

We enjoyed the three bird feeders which had almost constant activity. There were many visits from cardinals, tufted titmice, Carolina chickadees, hummingbirds, and lesser goldfinches. We saw a male painted bunting a couple of times.

We also saw a large blue and white kingfisher with a red underside (Belted Kingfisher?) flying up and down the creek.

The beautiful chickens sometimes paid a visit and came to eat the birdseed spilled below the birdfeeders. The resident dogs paid occasional visits.

We enjoyed feeding the fish and watching the cat.

The lake was picturesque, and the water temperature was perfect!

We had a very good time and hope to stay again!

What a View!!

  • 4 of 5

Everything you need insofar as cooking apparatus is there! Grills - ALL kinds and we used them. We brought our own chef (also a good friend) and he was impressed with the necessary cooking items afforded to him. Please know the house is very open with few doors and the sleeping arrangements are quite open with little privacy, but with this group it did not create a problem. Unfortunately our Frio River tubing was a bust due to lack of water and we should have listened to Chris on this one. We hurried back to the house where all you need is right there. Totally relaxing and enjoyable. Thanks Chris! We will be back!!

Beautiful & Unique Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The owners were very welcoming and sweet. We had no service, luckily, I was able to get a hold of them and they helped us find our way. They provided my kiddos with life jackets as well. They showed us around and made us fell very welcome. Their home is absolutely beautiful! We loved the several outdoor spaces and my kids who don't fish loved fishing on the floating deck. We had such a wonderful time and we'll be definitely coming back!

Exceeded my expectations

  • 5 of 5

Min Paradis' House was amazing! My family and I had a wonderful weekend getaway! My family and I wanted to "get away" from it all and that's exactly what this place is! Driving to the house is an adventure in it's own. Words aren't enough to describe, you have to see and experience for yourself. We LOVED everything from the thoughtful flowers and note welcoming us to the house, eating every meal on the patio with the perfect scenery and sounds (because eating inside is just wrong with all this natural beauty around) meeting and falling in love with Levi, Bear, and "the cat" (Min Paradis' animals), bird watching, feeding the fish, watching the chickens peck around, enjoying organic lettuce and spinach from the garden, bbqing and making smores in the fire pit, sitting on the patio and listing to the sound of water falling from the dam and dozing off, morning and afternoon walks sight seeing, swimming in the exhilarating water, using the paddle boat, showering in a clawfoot tub, admiring the eclectic decor of the house, and the list goes on and on and on.....we didn't get to meet Chris but Gary was great, very friendly and was around the property and easily accessible if we needed anything. Thank you Gary and Chris for sharing your wonderful gem! We will definitely be back!!!!!

Stunning Paradise in Texas!

  • 5 of 5

Min' Paradis is an amazing, relaxing, with beautiful views, and serene evenings home that lacks nothing but YOU! Chris and Gary were wonderful and attentive to our needs. The property is so gorgeous with all it's amazing details. We couldn't stop taking photos of all the scenery, fish, birds and wildlife. We are already planning a return trip, we just want to live there!!

If you want to enjoy life and disconnect from your daily grind, this place will feed your soul and reconnect you with the beauty of creation.

Thank you Chris and Gary, your home revived us for another bit.

Until next time,

Beth, Dorothy, Anna, and friends♥
