My Little Blue House is a joy - nestled in the woods. A pair of Phoebes had built a nest on the porch and we watched them feed their babies, heard pileated woodpeckers and cicadas in the distance, and were delighted by the sound of the small stream running through the property. The kitchen is well-appointed, and the entire house is perfect for a wonderful rest.
When I drove up to the Little Blue House I got out of the car and just stood there looking at the most perfect cabin tucked in a beautiful spot with not one but two babbling brooks running through the property. I couldn't believe my luck and pondered whether like a good mechanic or the bar that makes the best cocktails if I would tell no one or share with only those people I hold near and dear. It was only me and my dog but the cabin easily can accomodate a family, kids and dogs. It's secluded and private for anyone that just wants to retreat for awhile with a good book and glass of wine, but also near enough to lots of outdoor activities and shopping/restaurants etc....if your family wants to be more active. Karin was so nice and brought me a single person kayak which I never used because I barely left the property. The kitchen is great everything you need if you want to prepare meals. Beds are comfortable...I think my favorite spot was the daybed on the wide front porch. I took the best naps I've had in years there. I can't say enough nice things about my trip and the cabin. THANK YOU, Karin!
This is a great property, fantastic owner and a very nice secluded location. Could not have found a better place for the rate charged!
We had a wonderful stay, and are so thankful for owners that allow us to bring our pups! The little blue cabin sits at the intersection of two small creeks and features a wonderful porch to enjoy the sights of the woods and the sounds the creeks and nature. One thing to be aware of is the short walk across a bridge and up a few steep stairs to get to the cottage (don't over-pack those suitcases!). The bedrooms were charming, and the open living room and kitchen were great!
We could not have asked for a better destination for our vacation. The setting is beautiful, the house is perfectly charming and has everything we needed or wanted to make our stay comfortable. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed 3 nights at the little blue house and everyone wished we Had at least one more. It is a wonderful cabin with 2 bedrooms and a loft with 3 twins. The kids (13 & 11) absolutely loved the loft and immediately set up all their stuff and moved in. This was a perfect getaway for all of us. The kids and dog played in the creek, we enjoyed the fire pit every night. Everyone took turns relaxing in the hammock. We really liked how you could go hiking right out the front door on an old logging road but could also drive a very short distance to other hiking trails and waterfalls. There was a lot to explore right there but yet we never saw another person. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook every night and we were so pleased to find a new grill!! We have rented cabins in the past where we felt it necessary to put foil down to cook our food but this grill was shiny and new. The family room was comfortable and we played the board games every night. My personal favorite part was the day bed on the porch. It was so amazing drinking my coffee in the morning watching the birds, listening to the wind chimes. Such a fantastic family vacation and the cabin was wonderful. Thank you so much, Karin!!
Loved the setting and decor of mountain home
Enjoyed the large porch listening to birds and babbling brook
Great for two dogs as so private didn't have to worry about traffic or neighbors
Will visit again!
