Guestbook comments from the owner

My Little Blue House is a joy - nestled in the woods. A pair of Phoebes had built a nest on the porch and we watched them feed their babies, heard pileated woodpeckers and cicadas in the distance, and were delighted by the sound of the small stream running through the property. The kitchen is well-appointed, and the entire house is perfect for a wonderful rest.

Great cozy cabin

We really enjoyed our time here! The kids loved the little creek, even in the rain, and the house had everything we needed. The view from the deck is so very relaxing and a great place to be in the morning with a cup of coffee.

A hidden rustic gem

  • 4 of 5

My wife found this property while searching last minute rentals. What a great find! Complete privacy and tranquility is found here. Two bedrooms are plenty big enough for couples looking to split the cost of a weekend getaway. Even a cool loft for older kids (not small ones) accessed by a ladder only.

Only negative is a single full bathroom but it's ample as well.

Everything was stocked with condiments and the usual towels and linens.

I recommend for a private getaway with the nearest neighbor about a 1/2 mile away.

Second visit as good as the first

Love the little house and all her decor. The setting is wonderful and so so nice that we can bring our small dogs. I can't imagine a better sanctuary away from the "real" world.

Beautiful spot!

  • 4 of 5

My sister and I enjoyed our 4 nights at My Little Blue House. We found everything we needed during our stay. The windows, corners, and rough-hewn walls could use some cleaning...but it was very comfortable. We had a fire in the fire pit by the creek and made smores! I could sit on the front porch and listen to the water for hours.

Keep this place a secret or tell everyone you love?

  • 5 of 5

When I drove up to the Little Blue House I got out of the car and just stood there looking at the most perfect cabin tucked in a beautiful spot with not one but two babbling brooks running through the property. I couldn't believe my luck and pondered whether like a good mechanic or the bar that makes the best cocktails if I would tell no one or share with only those people I hold near and dear. It was only me and my dog but the cabin easily can accomodate a family, kids and dogs. It's secluded and private for anyone that just wants to retreat for awhile with a good book and glass of wine, but also near enough to lots of outdoor activities and shopping/restaurants etc....if your family wants to be more active. Karin was so nice and brought me a single person kayak which I never used because I barely left the property. The kitchen is great everything you need if you want to prepare meals. Beds are comfortable...I think my favorite spot was the daybed on the wide front porch. I took the best naps I've had in years there. I can't say enough nice things about my trip and the cabin. THANK YOU, Karin!
