About Marietta Alvarez, Manager
Over thirty five years ago I met my husband while on vacation in Florida. We fell in love and the rest is history…… A year later we married, moved to Jupiter and raised our five children right here in Jupiter Farms, just a couple of blocks from this very house. We now have five beautiful grandchildren. We are semi-retired now and we really enjoy our work managing this vacation home, Shadey Acres. We love this area; it feels so rural but has so much to offer. Carlos and I bike to Riverbend Park from the Shadey A. We love to canoe the Loxahatchee River that winds throughout the park and up to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The neighborhood is safe and very beautiful, great for biking and walking. We love to travel and having a large family ourselves so we have rented a fair amount of Vacation Homes in our travels. Using those experiences we took the best of what we learned from those other homes and tried to incorporate it into our management strategies for Shadey Acres. We have tried to anticipate all of your needs and hope that you enjoy your stay with us. We hope you find Shadey Acres inviting and comfortable. Please let us know if you need anything at all.
Marietta Alvarez, Manager purchased this House in 2013
Why Marietta Alvarez, Manager chose Jupiter Farms
Why Palm Beach County and this property? The reason we believe you will love it here is because this house is our vision of a perfect vacation home. Shadey Acres has 3 king size beds, 2 twin beds, a queen tempurpedic sleeper sofa and 2 comfortable full size futons, and enough living and dining room for everyone to find a comfortable place to sit and relax. The property has gorgeous landscaping and a luxurious pool and spa that are very private. A beautiful barn with a covered deck entwined with sweet smelling Jasmine is a cozy spot to sit and relax with a cold drink and a book. The yard is big and great for playing games like family football or soccer, or maybe a little B-ball or Horseshoes and is completely fenced in so its pet friendly. The location is wonderful; The Shadey A is minutes away from the beach, Riverbend Park and Northeast Everglades Natural Area (NENA) -the Historic Jupiter Indiantown Trail, Roger Dean Baseball Stadium and lots of fantastic shopping, restaurants and family entertainment - movies, bowling, miniature golf. Just 15 minutes from Harbourside Plaza a great place with live entertainment, upscale stores and restaurants and a Green Market. Rapids Water Park, Palm Beach Zoo, the Planetarium and other great attractions are all within minutes of Shadey Acres. With all these attractions nearby, we have to confess, our guests tend to spend a great deal of their time at poolside and relaxing in the gorgeous lush greenery of Shadey Acres. Jupiter Farms has always been a great place to live and now the area and cities around it have really grown up into a perfect spot for a vacation. Jupiter Beaches are rated among the top 15 in Florida. The neighborhood is a safe place and with large lots, there is lots of space between neighbors, affording our guests and their pet’s privacy. Shadey Acres sits on 2.7 acres that has a manicured yard as well as wild areas for the real taste of the old Florida. We're sure you and your family will love it too!
What makes this House unique
What makes this house unique? Things that made us fall in love with the Shadey A were the fully screened heated pool with heated bubbling water fall spa. Having the full screen means you can sit out comfortably in the evening, without having all the local insect wildlife for company! We love the carved stone Shadey A's as you enter the property. The fact that the property is so close to the back door bike entrance to Riverbend Park and the NENA trails is so much fun, we know because we enjoy riding the trails of the park. The location is very easy to find for Out-of-Towners was a plus as well. Basically you just get on Indiantown Road West from either the I95 or Florida Turnpike, continue West about 4.5 miles to Haynie Lane, (just past the Beacon Church) make a left, go another 2 miles (just past the Randolf Siding 4-way stop), make first left on 159th Ct. N., (dirt road), and Shadey Acres is the second mail box on the right. Simple, simple! It’s also that easy to get to the beach, just out to Indiantown Road and take it East about 11 miles, it dead ends on A1A (the beach road), make a right and you are there! (And there are plenty of great restaurants and shopping along the way!)

Loved Shadey Acres for our crew to stay together and enjoy the pool and large house after long days of work. Thank you!
You are quite Welcome! First let me thank you for the great care you and your crew took of the Shadey A.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the amenities of the house; I know you were here on a working trip and probably didn’t get much time to take in some of the great attractions like the Jupiter Light House Museum. I hope you found the drive back and forth from Roger Dean Stadium an easy one and you guys enjoyed some of the great restaurants right near the stadium, like The Woods with fine American Cuisine and Calaveras Cantina, an upscale Mexican restaurant in Harbourside Place along the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway.
We hope you all come and stay with us again.
I like to give this place a SIX Stars Not FIVE .Perfect location and house for perfect vacation...Thank you Marietta...
Dear Adnan and family,
Thanks so much for the great review. I also want to give you a special thanks for the pristine condition you left our home in.
I know the heated screened pool and the hot spa at the house are hard to leave, but I hope you enjoyed the area, Jupiter really has some great shopping and dining just minutes from the house.
We like to recommend taking one of the local Intracoastal cruise tours in the area, you can get a new perspective on some of the great homes and historic sites here in Jupiter when viewed from the water. Check out our Shadeya Com attraction pages for more info.
Speaking of Historic sites, I hope you had the opportunity to visit our Jupiter Lighthouse, they offer to the top tours and lots of other fun activities there as well as the Tindal House, a Pioneer house furnished in its period and a Seminole Chichi. The Mariners Museum and gift shop on site are interesting and fun.
We look forward to having you all visit again.
Beautiful property,. Peaceful, neat, and clean. Will definitely be going back in the future
Dear Ashley and Friends,
Thanks so much for leaving our home in such excellent condition.
I am so thrilled that you all were here for Randy and Abbey’s engagement trip and you all came back to celebrate their Honeymoon here at the Shadey A.
I hope you can all come back and make some more wonderful memories here.
We have such world class restaurants and shopping here in Jupiter. The Square Grouper Tiki Bar is a laid-back, open-air marina bar offering tropical drinks, bar eats & live music by the water. There is plenty more night clubs and fine eats just 25 minutes away on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach.
Carlos and I really love the Pon Tiki Cruises where you can enjoy the splendid scenery, drinks and Island music on the sleek Pon Tiki Party Barge. It leaves out of Harbourside and cruises the calm waters of the Intracoastal Waterway. The crew is friendly and fun. Visit our site shadeya and check it out for more attractions and fun.
We look forward to seeing you next time,
With fond regards,
Marietta and Carlos
Beautiful Vacation Place
This was our 6th family vacation at ShadeyA. We love the fact that we just have to buy food, everything else is provided. We are so comfortable here we call it “home” during our stay. We’ve already booked for next year.
Dear Gerald and Joan and family,
As always we enjoy having you guys come for what we call “Sophie’s Annual Birthday Trip”. We appreciate the care you take of the Shadey A during your stay.
After six years you must have been to so many of Jupiter’s great restaurants and attractions.
Some fun things we like to do: Charter a deep sea fishing tour out of the Jupiter Inlet for the day and come back and have dinner at one of the great restaurants that are located just across of the Lighthouse on the inlet. For even more family fun we rent electric bikes at Pedego Juno Beach and take a tour of Jupiter with the family, if you get tired switch to electric power with these great bikes! If golfing is a family favorite, enjoy a game of golf at one of the numerous public and private courses nearby, including the PGA National Resort and Spa. For a lighter game of golf by the beach enjoy a game of mini Golf for the whole family; spend the afternoon at the Lighthouse Cove Adventure Mini-Golf and Burger Shack!
We are looking forward to having you all back next year, see you then,
Marietta and Carlos
THIS PROPERTY NEVER DISAPPOINTS
I believe this was our fourth stay at Shadey Acres and we were able to share with our six grandchildren and their parents over our two week stay.
The kids all loved the pool most, but enjoyed shooting baskets, riding bikes, playing and exploring the great outdoor area the property offers. The proximity to Cardinal spring training games and numerous attractions made for a memorable vacation for all. The house and amenities were great as usual. Everyone is looking forward to our next
Dear Tim and Linda,
As always, thanks for treating the Shadey A like it was home and leaving it in such great condition.
I know you guys love going to the Roger Dean Stadium to watch the Cardinals in training, and you have been here for four seasons so you must have visited all the great places in Jupiter. We have such world class restaurants and great shopping and Galleries at the Harbourside Place. The Waterfront Market at Harbourside Place every Sunday is a Jupiter favorite pastime.
The PonTiki Happy Sunset Cruise out of Guanabanas is also tons of fun. Cruise the Intracoastal Water Way or take a sandbar cruise in a big Pontoon boat with a waterslide, drinks and snacks included, its family fun for all!
We look forward to seeing you next time,
Fondly, Marietta and Carlos
Great family vacation
Shadey Acres was exactly as the pictures portrayed. We went there for a family vacation with adult children and one toddler. They put up a gate around the pool for the toddler so we did not have to worrry. Also the sliders were alarmed when opened. The beds were so comfortable and all kings which is a plus. There was everything that you could ever need in the kitchen and bathrooms. At first, I was worried about being too far away from the beaches but it was perfect. We would go to the beach in the mornings and stay for a while then come back to the pool for the afternoon. It was so relaxing. There is a Publix very near. Overall, a great vacation house. I would recommend to anyone. The owner was great. She responded to a call immediately and took care of our request. Loved it and I am super picky.
Dear Anne B and Family,
Thanks for your praise of the house and its pictures, it’s good to know our prospective guests can rely on them. I also appreciate the great condition you and the family left The Shadey A.
I hope you all had the opportunity to visit some of the really interesting places in Jupiter, one being the Jupiter Lighthouse and the Tindall Pioneer Homestead. Built in 1892, it’s the earliest Pioneer house still existing in Jupiter. The homestead gives a glimpse of early life of our brave pioneering families along the Loxahatchee River. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Museum has a series of interactive exhibits chronicling the lives of Native Americans, early pioneers, Lighthouse keepers and more. The Museum and Gift Shop occupies the last remaining building (circa 1939), from an important World War II installation, code name Station J, a U.S. Naval Supplementary Radio Station. During World War II, it was used to locate the German submarines that were torpedoing our ships off the Florida coast! Take some time to visit the wonderful shops and restaurants that wind along the Intracoastal Waterway at Harbourside Place and up AIA along the Jupiter Inlet and Jupiter River. Utiki Beach is a great place to hang out, eat great food and boat/people/Light House watch.
Come see us again soon,
Marietta and Carlos
