|Minimum Stay||2 - 4 nights|
Staying here in this 3-story townhome, you will enjoy living downtown while being surrounded by a peaceful green space on a quiet, dead end street. One guest commented that it feels like 'I'm living in a beautiful tree house with a grand piano.' You will not have to worry with all of the Austin Gridlock traffic and have the choice to walk or bike to almost EVERYTHING!! Close enough to the action, but far enough away to get some sleep! Zilker Park, Barton Springs, ACL, SXSW, Long Center, Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail, Zilker Botanical Gardens, Palmer Events Center, Zach Scott Theater, go canoeing, or eat at plenty of the great restaurants, (like the original Chuy's) and there's also a grocery nearby. You will be living closer to Zilker Park and Barton Springs than the car parking areas for ACL! 2 miles to the F1 Helipad Transport! City bus is a only a 10 minute walk. You'll have nice views and beautiful sunsets. The open kitchen and living area are on the second floor. This contemporary home has been recently remodeled with all furnishings including granite countertops, fancy coffee machine, large outdoor grill, and all new appliances! 3 Bedrooms, one on each floor, 3 Full Bathrooms, Garden shower, grand piano, glass atrium and a fireplace. Fun, Funky neighborhood on a quiet 'No Outlet' street. Covered parking available. Wifi. Great place for kids that are old enough and young enough, to negotiate stairs. We are happy to offer some directions or assistance; whatever will make your stay more comfortable. We can usually offer discounts for extended stays and repeat customers--just ask. We are licensed by the City of Austin (We apologize in advance for the Austin taxes). We are always happy to help you navigate all the Austin awesomeness! Can't wait to help make your stay in Austin absolutely terrific!

Zilker Park, Barton Springs, and the Hike and Bike Trail consist of 360 acres on which visitors can ride bikes (bike rental a mile away), hike, rent kayaks or canoes, play volleyball or disk golf, fly kites, or stroll through the botanical gardens. While at the lake you can try your hand at stand-up paddle boarding, the world's fastest growing water sport. Barton Springs Road is home to many bars and restaurants, a putting range, a mini golf course, and a performing arts center. Nearby is the world class Zach Scott Theater, the Austin Nature and Science Center, the famous food trailers, the South Congress boutiques, home to First Thursday, and a spectacular view of the Congress Bridge bats flying at dusk between March and November.

Tom and Daris are artsy musicians that perform with the Austin Symphony, Ballet Austin, and Austin Lyric Opera. We have spent many years performing and living abroad in places such as Italy, Austria, Mexico, Germany, and most recently in Tanzania.
We have two feral children that are relatively house broken and rarely bite. The kids have to attend ballet, opera, and symphony more than they would like and usually resort to hanging with the stage crew. Quite frequently we host foreign exchange students (high school and college) just because we enjoy sharing the best of American culture, like spray-on tans, and dog sweaters. Seriously, we love people and sharing Austin with them. We look forward to hosting you!
Tom and Daris Hale purchased this house in 2012
This property is amazing because it is very private and quiet, yet very close to Austin's finest attractions. You will be closer to ACL than people can park their cars! You can go jogging and then jump into Barton Springs. The greenbelt is great for hiking during the day and 6th Street is fab for evening pleasures. This is a great place if you want to have fun and then retreat to a peaceful accommodation. Then hopefully you will have time to enjoy some coffee from the fancy machine or watch a movie on the large flat screen TV.
The views, the quiet wilderness even though you are in the city, the artsy neighborhood, the greenbelt, and of course, Barton Springs-wow! Zilker Park!
Could not have been happier with this house. Everything about it was as advertised and the hosts checked in early in the weekend to make sure we had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, great bathrooms, very clean. We walked to Barton Springs one morning and the surrounding neighborhood is wonderful. Will for sure be staying here again!
Our family enjoyed our stay, cozy home with an ideal layout for a family. You really feel like you're in a treehouse. Amazing location to the beautiful Barton Springs and downtown!! Would for sure book again! Owners are the best!!!
This house has a very artsy feel, lots of great natural lighting and has a Texas feel with modern updates. Plenty of room for everyone to roam comfortably and private quarters are present. The home is very close in proximity to Zilker Park and the lake, and ink a short drive to downtown Austin. Tom and Daris are super responsive and kind. Would love to stay here again the next time I'm in Austin.
This property is beautiful. The location is so central to everything we wanted to do in and around Austin.
Our family of 6 stayed here comfortably with a couple additional guests sleeping over as well. The kitchen in well stocked and clean. There is a wonderful new expresso coffee machine and any appliance we needed.
We would definitely stay here again should we return to Austin (and we would like too).
Our whole family enjoyed our stay there. More than enough space for everyone and for socializing. Very convenient location. We would definitely stay there again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tom and Daris's home near Barton Springs. Not only does it contain all the right rooms, they are all generous and well spaced. The dining/sunroom became our favorite place to eat, work, chat, birdwatch, and the two story volume of the living room makes the house feel much larger than it is. The kitchen is much nicer than mine, totally up to date, and well appointed for cooking family meals. The bedrooms are spaced far enough apart for privacy and relaxation. And we even played the beautiful piano!
Austin is the Live Music Capitol of the World. Austin City Limits Festival--you will be closer than most people can park!
South by Southwest, Formula One! Zilker Park and Botanical Gardens, Barton Springs, and 6th Street. Austin has everything!
If you stay here, you are close enough to walk, but still far enough a way that you can get a peaceful night's sleep!
