Guestbook comments from the manager

Absolutely loved the home and was perfect for Christmas vacation with the family. We had children 6-10 with us and they loved the downstairs room with the bunk beds and couches. It was great to have the hot tub on the upper deck and the fireplace was perfect after a cold day.

Wonderful setting for a family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this location- remote from other homes but still near Wilson and Jackson. The house was perfect for our extended family that included preteen children. Our only concern was that the door to the microwave was broken; other than that, everything was great!

Great spot!

  • 5 of 5

Group of 7 guys for a ski trip. Huge house with lots of space, warm floors, plenty of room to cook, grill out, hot tub, play some cards, and mix a drink. Moose visited a couple times. Monica at JH Lodging was very good to us.

The snow was deep and the skiing at JH was great. Also loved skiing a day at Grand Targhee -- well worth the drive.

The property is in a great spot, pretty close but it feels secluded.

Don't speed in Wilson -- it's 25 mph. I only got a warning, thankfully...

Exceptional Vacation Home!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently returned from an amazing week at Lone Star Lodge. We traveled to WY for the skiing (which was perfect) but will return for the accommodations! We are very particular when it comes to hotels/vacation rentals and we were extremely pleased with the Lodge. The Lodge is huge and beautifully appointed. The kitchen is also stocked with everything you need - we were able to prepare wonderful meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in the kitchen. We even grilled outside one night. The house is also very secluded and has wonderful views - this was especially appreciated when using the hot tub. We truly felt as though we were at home and cannot wait to return!

We spent a week at Lone Star and we absolutely loved it. The house was very roomy and comfortable. Although there was just the two of us, it could acomodate several people very easily. It is a very good location, close to so many things no matter what direction you go yet very secluded and very peaceful. The kitchen was very well equipped to cook any kind of meal you would like with a bbq grill on the patio right off the kitchen. This would be a great place for a large family vacation. We would love to go back sometime with our kids and grand kids.

Beautifully appointed & furnished

  • 5 of 5

We spent a memorable week on a 3 generation family getaway at this house and loved it. It's proximity to Wilson and Jackson Hole made it very convenient to buy supplies and head out to the Tetons! The layout of the house for perfect for your group as the teenagers had the downstairs (bunk beds, entertainment center) to themselves, and I stayed on the second floor and could use the hot tub early in the morning - what a great way to start the day!!! The kitchen was very well equipped and the size of the dining room table allowed us not only to eat there, but to use it to play games in the evenings. I found the owners/managers to be very responsive and gave me local intelligence on what to do/where to go which added greatly to our overall experience.

Wonderful Week at Lone Star

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at Lone star. We traveled to Wyoming by car so thatwe could see the country. Myhusband, daughter and I arrived in the afternoon on Saturday. We picked up three young adult boysincluding my son at the airport later in the afternoon. We came home, got settled in and cookeddinner. The boys moved into thedownstairs area which had large bunk beds, good music and a flat screenTV. My husband and I took themaster bedroom on the top floor and our daughter took one of the bedrooms onthe main floor. We were all happywith our accommodations. The threebedrooms in the main part of the house were furnished in a comfortable andcharming way. A couple of dayslater we had some of our friends join us. They set up in the second bedroom on the main floor and their son joinedthe other boys in the downstairs area. We cooked great meals in the kitchen. It accommodated all of us. We cooked every night. It was a pleasure to have access to a kitchen that was wellstocked. One of our favoritethings was sitting down to dinnerat the table. It was big enough toaccommodate all of us. We spentevery evening talking around the table. In the evenings we went to the upstairs deck got in the hot tub andwatched the stars. The eveningswere beautiful. All of us used thehot tub and enjoyed sitting on the deck. We saw so many animals over the week. In our neighborhood we saw moose, deer and a number ofdifferent kinds of birds. We allwalked into Wilson for numerous things. The town of Wilson had so much charm and the kids loved taking a strollinto the village. The Grand Tetonnational park was close by. Wewent hiking all over the park. Itwas amazing. We also went raftingand to the rodeo in Jackson. Oneday was also spent in Yellowstone which was about an hour and a half drive fromthe house. We had one of our bestvacations at Lone Star. The housewas welcoming, comfortable and you could tell the owners cared about it. We would go back to stay in a flash!
