My fiance and I traveled here with another couple and had a GREAT time. The Chalet is perfect - cute and cozy. The Smokehouse is a separate building so both couples had their own room. All of us were very comfortable. We were greeted by the owners' daughter, who was very friendly and showed us around the space. We had plenty of privacy, and were given some company by a very sweet yellow lab. Walkable access to the river, and it was easy to get a cab back and forth downtown to the show we came to see. Perfect weekend. Thanks so much!!

Fantastic weekend!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I and our two small dogs stayed at the Chessie Trail Chalet and had a great time! The place was clean and beautiful and the land on the farm is gorgeous. We enjoyed the goats, mule, dogs and deer. The river and trail across the street was delightful! We also enjoyed the beautiful small town of Lexington. Our only complaint was that we did not have enough time in our schedule to stay longer!

Convenient yet away from it all

  • 5 of 5

I knew from the reviews that this would be a unique property. It was so pleasant drive up and see this little jewel nestled into the owners property. While it is truly only a couple minutes from town, you feel like you are out in the country. Even though the owners home is within a stone's throw, they are not present unless you want them to be. Wish we would have had more time to enjoy this great place. The property itself is lovely and charming as you take it all in on the deck . A small stream is at the bottom of a rolling hill, a breathe of fresh air. The trail is right across the street and frequently runs parallel to the river. The unit is simple but completely perfect. There wasn't anything that needed to be added. It was very hot while we were visiting, the ac unit had to work hard but we were never uncomfortable. We will be back.

Perfect for the family

  • 5 of 5

We arrived late due to traffic and Sue was up waiting to greet us. First impression of the cabin was clean and organized. As our weekend unfolded it was as if the cabin had come alive for us. If you needed that certain pot or soccer goal, lol in our case it was there. We ate at the pink Cadillac diner and knocked out all of the caves, to include the drive in movie theatre which is 8 minutes away. Great place great people!

Very Nice People and Location

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I and four children enjoyed our stay at Chessie Trail Chalet. The location is convenient for a number of worthwhile activities and historical sites and is very quiet (except for a nearby road with occasional truck traffic). Sue and her family were very kind to us and even invited us to use their pool one of the afternoons we were there. Great fun. The chalet itself is about average in condition and repair. We could have used a folding chair or two to accomodate our family around the small four-person kitchen table for meals. Overall, a good experience. Thank you, Alvin and Sue.

Beautiful comfortable and convenient

  • 5 of 5

This property was wrapped enough in forest and stream to feel like a remote cabin, while also being five minutes away from downtown Lexington in one direction and Walmart/I-64 in the other direction, for real convenience.

Our dogs loved running around the property, and were shown all the best stream swimming spots by the uncannily similar dogs that live on the land.

The owners were friendly and helpful, providing kindling for their fire pit and kayaks for the river across the street.

I hope I get to go back real soon.
