About Marilyn

I'm a California native, high-tech professional employed at Fortune 100 companies including: eBay/PayPal, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Visa.

Marilyn purchased this house in 2011

Why Marilyn chose Dodge Ridge

I fell in LOVE with this home (after visiting dozens of properties in the area, including Sonora, Twain Harte and Pinecrest) the moment I walked in and saw the beautiful picture window in the living room and all the amazing, authentic woodwork throughout the home I knew I just had to purchase it. I never even opened the kitchen cabinets! Trust me, I'm very picky and you've never quite seen a home/cabin like this -- if you have, let me know, I want to rent it, too. (smile)

What makes this house unique

EXCLUSIVE: First and only hot tub in the area! Amazing views of the lush redwood, cedar and pine trees from every-single-room. This home is very private in an abundant natural setting.

Eric and Marilyn's home in Mi-Wuk Village was delightful. It's a perfect getaway spot for a family vacation. The house is very clean, nicely decorated and fully stocked. Marilyn responded promptly to our questions. The location is convenient to the gold country and Pinecrest Lake and is in a very peaceful setting. Both the Twain Harte Market and the Saturday Sonora Farmers' Market are excellent. Highly recommended!

This was my second time at Sierra Mountain House!

  • 5 of 5

This property is one of my favorites in the Pinecrest area. We brought 4 of our grandchildren here for our annual "grandkid trip". They loved their rooms, the deck, the hot tub, they thought the dumb waiter was very cool! The house was clean, the beds and pillows were so comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped! We enjoyed fishing and hanging out at the lake and the pizza at Mia's was yummy, as usual. We had a great time and will definitely be back! Thanks, Marilyn and Eric, for sharing your home.

The best compliment I can give is that we felt at home.

  • 5 of 5

The house was spacious but cozy. We had four adults, three teenagers and a two year old. There was enough room for people to do their own thing (work on a puzzle, watch a movie on an iPad, play a board game and read) but intimate enough that we felt we were together as a family. This was one of the few places where we didn't feel like we needed to clean everything before using them. The owners were very accommodating and available by phone or text to help with questions. We'll be back.

A little bit of paradise in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

Our party of 4 adults and 4 kids had a wonderful time here. The house was just as advertised--very clean, wonderfully decorated and had every amenity that we required. It had an overall homelike feel and we all felt comfortable right away. The hot tub and game room were personal favorites of the kids, and the adults and kids really enjoyed spending time as a happy group in the main room/kitchen area. There was a great hill for sledding nearby and it only took about 25 minutes to get to Dodge Ridge for a day of skiing. The grocery store in nearby Twain Harte was about 10 minutes away and perfect for getting all our food and treat needs.

The owner was very responsive and helpful leading up to our trip. She couldn't have been more gracious. We would all recommend this property to friends and hope to go back ourselves.

excellent getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin getaway! My family and I had the most relaxing weekend in this beautiful gem of a cabin. Marylin and her husband were extremely helpful the entire time and answered any and all questions in a timely manner. I've stayed in other cabins in the area, and this one by far is the most homey/comfortable. I highly recommend it!

Beautiful home to enjoy nature

  • 5 of 5

Three families, 10 of us all enjoyed staying at the beautiful home with lots of space surrounded by the nature. We liked big kitchen, cozy bed rooms and living room. We spent relaxing time at the patio and listened to the birds. It was a great trip.

More TESTIMONIALS:

'Our stay at The Sierra Mountain House Getaway was fantastic! The spacious cabin easily accommodated 6 adults and 2 children. Every room of the house was beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything we needed. The cabin owner was very attentive, answered all of my emails in a very timely manner, and made sure everything at the cabin was to our liking. I can't wait to go back in the summer!!!' Lu, January 2013

'WOW! What an amazing vacation. It was a dream winter getaway and the owner was incredible! We would definitely go again! Marilyn went above and beyond the call of duty and did so many little things to make us feel welcome and special. She was always available to answer questions and give guidance. We could not have asked for more!' Chris, Christmas week 2012

'My wife and I rented the house for the Thanksgiving along with 2 other couples. The place is absolutely perfect to rest and spend some relaxing time. The place was really comfortable for everyone of us and the way the house as build helps on interacting and spending all the time together. Cabin owner was amazing, she responded all the messages really quickly and even bought a roasting pan for us to cook the Turkey! Definitely recommend to book this house! One of my best experiences so far!' Victor, November 2012

'I came to stay at the Sierra Mountain Resort for my birthday. What an AMAZING place to stay. It's quiet, cozy, has everything you could want for a mountain get-away. The grill, sunken tubs, modern kitchen, and TONS of kitchen supplies made for a VERY comfortable living situation for those who don't want to 'rough it.' My friends and I drove to Travertine Hot Springs which was about 2 hours away (through the beautiful Sierra Mountains) which was SO FUN. It was lovely returning to the cabin after a long day and cozying up next to the wood-burning fireplace and relaxing. The host was a dream to work with, always responding when I needed something and making us feel like SHE was the lucky one having us stay. I would say WE were definitely the lucky ones. AH-MAZING place. Go. Go now! Why are you still reading this? GOOOOO!' Jessica, November 2012
