My daughters and I live in the Washington, DC area. My family is from Narragansett. I have recently purchased this lovely property and hope to retire here. I hope you will enjoy this peaceful place as much as we have.
Ruthann Giusti purchased this cottage in 2013
The ocean view is beautiful. There is so much to see and do here. Be as active as you like or just take a peaceful break.
Two lovely greenhouse rooms open to catch the ocean breezes. A semi-detached in-law suite lets you travel with friends or family and have a little privacy. Wonderful gourmet kitchen. Great ocean view.
Beautiful & comfortable cottage, great landscaping with view of the bay & quiet neighborhood. Everything is thoughtfully provided, from beach gear to cooking utensils! It's a short drive to beaches, kayaking, restaurants, shopping & sightseeing.
The house was clean, quiet, and beautiful! The owner was very nice gave us all the info that we needed for a week long relaxation. There was a little "diary" from the people who stayed before us and each told of great places to go. Don't forget to try the donuts!! Best ever!
I can't say enough good things about this rental property. My Husband and I and our two daughters loved this house. It was centrally located to all the things we did and places we went, Newport, Mantuck Beach, Narragansett Beach, Wickford , Point Judith and Block Island. But we also spent a lot of time at the house relaxing, playing games or reading on the porch, by the water on the deck or in the fabulous greenhouse. Plum Point Bistro is an absolute must for dinner. We ate there twice and both times the food was outstanding!!
We also cooked at the house several nights and the kitchen was fully equipped to suit our needs. Ruthann and the realty company were both wonderful to work with. We realized on Sunday that the jacuzzi bathtub stopper wasn't working properly and she had a plumber there on Tuesday to fix the problem which came in handy after a day of biking on Block Island. This was our first time vacationing in Rhode Island but it definitely won't be our last. We loved the house and are already thinking about next summer!!
Loved the fact that this truly had the beach cottage feel & not just a house! Lovely & quiet area. Long narrow property with a deck/platform that we managed to have freshly baked muffins & coffee on one morning-really really nice. Definitely worth the little extra work to do. One complaint-not enough time to do everything we wanted to do especially spend more time at the house. We went to Narragansett Beach, Scarborough beach & East Matunuk (sp?) Beach. Lovely beaches - lovely days. We spent a day in Newport & loved seeing all of the mansions!! Loved loved all of the seafood-favorites-Spain of Narragansett & Matunuk (sp?) Oyster Bar! Brickleys Icecream was great! Local diner very close for breakfast I think it was called Meldgies. Didn't discover till our last day. Breakfast was wonderful. Their bacon was the best I've ever had at a restaurant & toasted cranberry bread great! Spent a day at Block Island. The cottage was very roomy. Especially loved the master bedroom with the beautiful bath! The other bed room was very large as well. There was plenty of room. Large sunroom was the best. House was very clean. Lots of linens. Very nice well equipped kitchen. Would have liked to use it more. What we didn't like: not much. The entire porch/deck around the house was very dirty with lots of debris & no broom for us to just sweep it down. The outside furniture had not been put out & was piled up in the small sunroom which was also dirty with debris. Both upstairs bedrooms had stairways without a door at the top which caused noise to carry up very easily. The bathroom on the "inlaw side" was right in the small sitting room which caused the people to have to go thru there where we had someone sleeping. The washer & dryer were great but the dryer was not vented to the outside & made the bath & bedroom very hot. We finally opened the windows to the sunroom & ran the fan. That helped.
We definitely recommend the cottage. Was probably the best vacation we have ever had and the only one so far with all of our immediate family!
Beautiful home, enjoyed breakfast in the green house every morning when we were here. Lots of room for the three of us with our daughter staying at the in law suite. Huge master bedroom and bath.
We spent 6 days at this rental. Mom, dad and 2 adult children and their significant others. The set up with the main house and the mothers-in-law suite was ideal. (The pictures don't do it justice)We had the perfect amount of togetherness, with room for privacy. The sun room is a great gathering spot, with super comfy furniture.
Dealing with Ruth Ann was great. We also met a few neighbors who where very helpful in recommending things in the area. The house is perfectly located between Newport and Narragansett. If we ever travel to this area again, we would definitely stay here.
Ideal central location, near to RI Beaches, Historic Wickford, and Newport. Easy day trip to Providence, Boston, and Martha's Vineyard. Easy access to bike and kayak rental. Excursions to Narragansett Bay/whale watching from Narragansett or Newport.
