Property manager resides next door to the cabin and is a N.Y.S. Licensed Guide available for hire. There are many trails up the lake, accessible by boat only. Property manager available to take you to trail heads for a fee. We have a few life jackets, but we encourage guests to bring their own. Additional note: This is a family oriented community...we would discourage any groups that are looking for a 'PARTY' rental.

The Best Week Of Our Year....

  • 5 of 5

This was the third year we spent our vacation at this cabin, and we still love it. The best part is that it's right on the water. You can walk right in to the lake, or dive in from the dock. You can sit on that dock and watch the sunset, or sneak out in the morning with your coffee. You can use the canoe, or the rowboat, or bring your own boat and launch it across the lake, and dock it right there at the cabin. You can bring your kayaks, too. You can sit out on the screened porch, and listen to the loons. If you get chilly, there's a fireplace in the living room, as well as a wood burning stove. The kitchen is small and cozy, and it has two really nice roomy refrigerators! There's a coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, and pots and pans, dishes, and everything you could possibly need, already there. There's also a gas grill on the back patio, which works really well. With a full bathroom and two half baths, four bedrooms, including the huge dorm-style room that's a blast for the kids, you can stretch out in this camp. The Adirondack air is so clean and fresh, and this camp has plenty of nice big windows to open up to enjoy it. There are lots of comfy chairs for around the outdoor fire pit, and to use on the dock. The owners are nice people too, kind and honest and friendly, and they do their best to make your vacation pleasant. If you're lucky enough to get a week here, you won't be disappointed.

The name says it all: "Sunset Haven"

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4 TH year coming back to Bill and Becky's wonderful little slice of Heaven. The house has a wonderful roomy, and rustic feel!

Our first time, we immediately fell in love with the comfy cabin, sparkling lake, shimmering sunsets, and the brilliant night sky. We are returning next summer for our fifth year at "Sunset Heaven", and its warm and wonderful owners.

Its always like coming "Home"....Thank you Becky and Bill.

Gets better every year

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th consecutive year staying at the camp. And it never loses it's beauty or allure. We added one of my sisters this year and she was head over heels with the place. Bill and Becky are the best hosts. The house is clean and well maintained. If you are looking for a tranquil place to decompress, this is it! We'll go back next year for our 5th week at our Tranquility Base!

Lovely Memories

  • 5 of 5

Once again, we enjoyed our return to Sunset Haven with our family. The weather was cooler with more rain. This afforded us more time together for puzzles and games. Some took the hike to the big pine tree. Bill was on hand to solve a couple of questions for us. He and Becky are always kind. Several improvements had taken place, which we appreciated! The younger ones enjoyed swimming in spite of the weather. We enjoyed the campfire also. And the sunsets are always amazing. Thank you for allowing us to use this lovely place each year.

Sunsets as advertised!!!

  • 4 of 5

Excellent week on Cranberry Lake. Nice quiet lake, sunsets were spectacular. Weather worked to perfection, cool breezes at night, warm sunny days. House was great. Great porch for eating dinner as the sun begins to sink, screened in to avoid bugs, a huge plus. Two refrigerators were a surprising plus.

My bro brought his 3 little kids, and boy did we have fund swimming and fishing off the dock. They had a blast. And so much room for them to settle down at night upstairs, while my wife Jane and I were in peace and quiet in the main bedroom downstairs.

Big lake you need to get to know to fish it effectively, if that is what you are looking for, but we caught a nice Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass, along with a dozen or so smaller fish.

Great place if you are looking for peace and the beauty of nature!!!

Thanks Bill and Becky!

Beautiful weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year to have a sisters reunion, along with a couple of dear friends, at Sunset Haven and I can't wait to come back next year! The cabin is rustic vintage Adirondack camp style, not a luxury lodge. But great attention has been given to providing for everything you might want. We slept eight adults and three kids- four generations- comfortably and had beds left over. The addition of a half bath upstairs in the sleeping loft is a huge bonus. The bed we slept in was like sleeping in a cloud. The kitchen is basic but has everything. Who puts elegant Polish Pottery in a rental cabin? Beautiful! But plastic dishes if you want them for the kids, and plenty of pots and pans. The Warm September air actually let us have a couple of swims, and Bill provides great pontoon boat rides to tour beautiful Cranberry Lake. Coffee on the dock, loons and eagles across the lake, fire in the fireplace, supper in the screen porch, even the sound of night time rain on the roof- such relaxing get away. Don't miss the very best blueberry pancakes with real butter and real maple syrup at the diner in the hamlet of Cranberry Lake.

Very fun weekend.

Located on the East side of the lake...we get the best sunsets on the lake! We are a short walk from the NYSDEC public campground and the trail head to Bear Mountain. Cranberry Lake is one of the largest lakes in the Adirondacks with the majority of the shoreline being State-owned. There are dozens of picnic and camping areas on the lake. Trail heads for hikes to mountain ponds and peaks around the lake are accessible by boat.
