This home has just finished construction in May 2013 by one of the top builders in Northeast Wisconsin. The property is situated on a quiet county road perfect for biking and long walks. Located across from the Bluff Lands Nature Preserve, there are ample opportunities to hike and enjoy the fauna and wildlife. The house is a two level full walkout with a picturesque recently completed landscaped yard overlooking the waters of Green Bay. The main floor has a full eat-in kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances and a granite island.
A rare wood burning fireplace accentuates the main floor living room with modern furnishings and HD Satellite TV. The living room has access to both main floor decking and provides wonderful views of the bay. The queen Master suite has access to the long cedar deck and will provide a memorable view of the water every morning. Abundant closet space and a comfortable private bathroom with tub/shower also compliment the master bedroom. Satellite HDTV is also included in the master bedroom.
The main floor is highlighted by a large screened in white beadboard patio perfect for relaxing or bug free outdoor dining. The patio is also wheelchair accessible making the main floor completely handicapped friendly. Limited Wi-Fi by Exede Satellite also available.
A laundry room with attached private 1/2 bath are also conveniently located on the main floor. Plenty of counter space and storage accompany a brand new front load h/e washer/dryer and a large sink.
The bottom floor is ideal for indoor entertaining with large screen HDTV, plush leather furniture, Blu-ray player, DirecTV, PlayStation 3, and a new digital receiver. No need to run up stairs for drinks and snacks because a welcoming wet bar with dishwasher and beverage refrigerator are right behind you. The downstairs living area leads to a outdoor patio where you will find a sitting area and a new propane grill. A flat stone walkway accentuates this patio and leads straight to the shore.
Two other bedrooms are located on the bottom floor. They share a full bath with tub/shower. One bedroom has a new queen bed with ample closet and dresser space. The other bedroom has two twins that can be put together to make a king if need be. There is also a futon that will accommodate two guests. There is also custom built-ins in all the bedroom closets, so finding space for your clothes and accessories will never be a problem. Extra storage space located under the stairs hides extra linens, and games and toys for kids of all ages.
The outdoor grounds have been completely renovated and look first class. Sweeping views from the large yard are complimented by abundant fauna mixed with old hardwoods and cedar, new plants, and new flowering Crabapple and Dogwood trees. Outdoor games and other festivities will easily be accomplished in the oversize yard. A firepit is nestled down at the shore and will create happy memories as you enjoy smores, libations, laughs and sunsets. With over a 100 feet of shoreline there is plenty of space for fun and relaxation. A stone staircase leads down to the shore on one side while a gentle slope graces the other side, providing easy access to one and all. The rocky shore is easily traversed because of a large flat stone pathway that leads to the warmer bay water. This is a home built for all to enjoy. Plenty more pictures will becoming in the next couple of days. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
I'm Big Sully or Tim, whichever you prefer. I love Door County and have owned a home there for 12 years. I have been renting vacation property here for over a decade and it is a passion of mine to help my guests in anyway come up with the best experience possible. I am a Certified Wine Specialist Level 2 through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, and love to showcase different wines for my guests. I am also a Licensed Minister and have performed wedding ceremonies from coast to coast. If you are thinking of a small wedding in Door County, my property may be a perfect location, and I would be happy to perform the service. I'm also big, highly intelligent, very witty, and incredibly handsome. That is all.
Tim Sullivan purchased this house in 2002
This property used to have a two small cottages on it that I fixed up as much as Icould and rented them out for about 6 years. They were 60 years old and weathered, which was part of the charm, and the waterview was great. Unfortunately, father time and mother nature made renting them out untenable. So, I decided to tear them down and start a new history for myself. Thus, the Hidden Gem was born. My goal was to incorporate everything I find important and expected in an upscale vacation rental and then go one further, which is 'Sully Style'. You will love it and will come again in the future...unless, of course I don't like you; in that case you won't be coming back.
This is your chance to do things Sully Style and impress your friends.
We enjoyed our stay. We played ladderball and built fires in the pit. The home had all the comforts of our home...Thank You.
Our family had a great time
The house and property were outstanding and all amenities were first class. The owner was available but not intrusive. It was accessible for my daughter who is a stroke survivor. My grandkids enjoyed the waterfront and yard. You might see us again.
My family of 4 had a very nice stay but 6 could stay just as comfortably. Lots of great amenities in the house---mud room with laundry and a half bath, several dining areas, separate sleeping areas, ... It is in immaculate shape, well-thought out to meet your needs, very pleasantly decorated, plenty of space and areas to spread out, and great water views with lots of natural light. The location is great for a visit to Door County. The yard is beautifully landscaped and slopes to comfortable chairs right at the water's edge.
I highly recommend for a visit to door county.
Viewing this property upon arrival was jaw dropping to say the least. The water view of Green Bay was awesome and hearing the waves crash against the rocky shore was beyond relaxing especially at night with a roaring campfire. I'm currently using a picture I took of the sunset as my new computer wallpaper. lol! The cottage had plenty of room for the 6 adults /1 Child that stayed for the weekend. My 8 yr old nephew loved the Playstation 3 downstairs ! The screened in upper level deck was great too and you can even hear the waves while sitting in it. We all loved how much room we had to move around without being cramped at all. The kitchen was perfect as we cooked a huge batch of Jumbalyia one of the nights. It had all the utensils needed to prepare a perfect meal. Tim also provided firewood which we used in the firepit down by the waters edge for nice and warm roaring campfire. The location was perfect too since its a quick drive either to Sturgeon Bay or the main street shops in Egg Harbor. The restaurant called "The Cabin" was just a few mins down the road and was very good. Id definitely recommend that place to anyone staying close by it. We will definitely be coming back sometime in the future and exploring more of Door County from this perfect launching spot. Wish we could have stayed 2 weeks or longer!!!!!
Thank you Tim for such a awesome place! Looking forward to next time!!!!!!
Ladies weekend in Door County was wonderful with the accomodations at Sully's Bay Shore home. We loved, loved, loved the yard and sitting out by the shoreline in the chairs. We loved having coffee on the deck overlooking the lake. We made all our meals in the home and we had everything we needed for cooking and eating in. We enjoyed the extra wet bar area & frig downstairs too. The beds were all very comfortable and it was great having two full bathrooms plus the powder room to use. We walked over to Sully's house (next door to the rental) and grabbed lots of wood for our campfires at sunset. We did have to clean off all the chairs and tables outside of cobwebs. Being up north and in the woods makes it impossible to stay ahead of them, but even the screen porch windows, the patio doors and the baseboards inside the bathrooms and bedrooms had cobwebs and that is the only thing that keeps me from giving a 5 star rating....just the little details that would have made this incredible home perfect. We would stay here again and the location was very convenient for our group. We even walked across the road and walked the conservancy trails one day.
We stayed a week in Door County and found this home to be a perfect launching point as well as a waterfront retreat. The house is beautiful with many spots to relax, enjoy water views, fire pit gatherings at the beach and star watching. Our party was two couples and the main floor/lower floor separation was perfect for privacy. We made excellent use of the large, well-appointed kitchen with new appliances. Nearby there are many beaches, parks, unique villages, & lighthouses to explore along with wineries, farmers' markets, and good restaurants - all within easy access from the house. We look forward to returning and plan to rent this home again!
Lots of potential, but disappointing care of property and guests.
From the owner’s contract: “When I rent a vacation home, I have certain standards I expect to be met. The goal of my vacation rental is to match or exceed the standards to which I personally consider necessary for me to want to return to a location.”
I wonder if he would return to a location where he experienced what we did:
1) he lost my $1100 final payment check and asked me to pay again
2) he didn’t clean the home before the first rental of the summer, and we found tons of cob webs and a coat of dust throughout the facility
3) his dog bit a member of our party
4) he promised to fix the broken hammock “first thing tomorrow”, but it wasn’t fixed by the end of our 3 night stay
5) he didn’t refund the security deposit within 14 days as per his contract, and apparently required me to request it in order to be refunded
All that said, the property is beautiful, has a great view, and the kitchen and deck are wonderful. And the owner was gracious enough to bring home our case of wine after we visited the winery that he works at on our bikes. The above problems could and SHOULD be easily fixed. However we won’t risk a return stay at this property.
