About Patricia Barberio

Hello! My name is Patty and I would enjoy being your Host. I purchased this property in March 2012 and pretty much spent the next three months working with a general contractor to make improvements to the property and to gather information about the vacation rental business.

I am a horse enthusiast and a dog lover. I love riding my horses and my dogs enjoy going on trail rides with me. I spent 24 years working for the Federal Government in the Washington, DC area before moving to NW Montana over 13 years ago. My home is also on the property of the vacation rental so I would be available to take care of any needs.

I have been a small business owner and feel I have the common sense and compassion to make my vacation rental a pleasant place to stay for your experience in one of the most beautiful parts of the Rocky Mountains.

Patricia Barberio purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Patricia Barberio chose Glacier Park

When I first visited NW Montana in Dec 2001, I fell in love with the Columbia Mountain Range. I was not able to find a home in this area at that time. I had visited this property a few times in the past and had purchased a few horses from the original owners. When those folks moved on, I jumped at the chance to place an offer on the home and property. This has been my 'Haven' ever since.

What makes this cabin unique

This Log Cabin was built in the 80's and was the original home on the parcel. Having the horse pastures close make for a very special view upon awakening - to see the horses grazing or staring at the house for me to come outside and feed them. Turkeys roost in the tall pine trees and an occasional fox has been known to trot by.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The cabin was great! Loved the touch of flowers on the table. We had a wonderful vacation. Will definitely recommend your site to our friends.

Great cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Cute cabin with possibly the most comfortable bed ever! The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. The grounds are lovely and the mountain views spectacular. Centrally located to enjoy Glacier Park and all of the towns nearby. The owner is very responsive and helpful. Great place. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Beautiful Space in a Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

The property surrounding the cabin is beautiful: evergreens, aspen, wide Montana skies. The cabin is spacious, clean, cozy. It has everything one might need. Bed is super comfortable! There's a front and side porch, grill, full easy to use kitchen. And all within 20 minutes of West Glacier. I highly recommend it!! Our dog had the best time, too. The caretaker, Misty, is available, friendly, helpful.

Excellent Location and Lovely cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Patty's cabin is in an excellent location a short distance off hwy 2 in Columbia Falls and an easy 20 minute drive to West Glacier and the entrance to GNP. It was also an excellent location for visits to Whitefish, Big Fork, Flathead Lake and Kallispell. There are two very good grocery stores in Columbia Falls which was very important to us since we love making our own breakfast, packing sandwiches for our day- trips into the park and we also cooked many great dinners in the spacious, well-equipped kitchen. There is a large deck where we sat every evening in the warm dappled light enjoying our dinner with a view thru' the pine trees to the sunset over the mountains accross the valley. Patty's caretaker Misty was very helpful and quickly replaced the coffee-maker when it puttered out during our stay. The bathroom is small as someone else mentioned but every other aspect of the cabin is so perfect including a very comfy bed. This is an excellent spot and an outstanding value if a home-away-from-home is important to you!

Awesome Decompression Chamber

  • 5 of 5

If you want to lower your blood pressure, come stay at Patty's cabin. My husband and I stayed at Patty's amazing cabin for one full week recently, and when I tell you that we didn't want to leave, believe me! WE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE!! We were in Columbia Falls to attend and help host the reception for a small family wedding that took place within Glacier National Park. The park is very near--only about 20-25 minutes by car. We had explored the park on a previous visit, but there was still a lot for us to see. But the cabin was so relaxing and comfortable that we could hardly bear to leave it by noon each day. Sitting on the beautiful deck with all the gorgeous hanging plants was such a treat, especially because of the great mountain view. It was a gorgeous setting, and we got to see lots of wildlife. One evening, as we were returning from supper, a young buck literally escorted us down the driveway to our cabin.

We had everything we needed and then some, as the cabin was very well stocked with all the necessities and and lots of extras. The property was spotless and well maintained. Of special note was the abundance of new and fluffy towels, which we enjoyed thoroughly.. The cabin also has a washer and dryer, which was a nice bonus that we were happy to have.

Patty could not have been more accommodating--lending us ice chests, a folding table, folding chairs, and anything else we needed to put on our small reception which was held on a boat touring Lake McDonald. As it turned, out, Patty was out of town during our stay, but she was in constant contact with her property manager Misty.

Misty took great care of us. In addition to retrieving the ice chests & other supplies to loan us for our reception, she even loaned me her iron so that I could iron tablecloths for the cake table. She couldn't have been more helpful (unless she would have ironed those tablecloths!!!). Misty was the perfect "Cabin Concierge" for the property. She & Patty made our stay one of our best mountain trips ever! We offer them our thanks for all the solicitous attention and high level of customer service.. I would recommend this cabin without hesitation to anyone seeking a tranquil and beautiful vacation. If you want to get away from it all, do yourself a favor and give Patty a call!

Lovely little cabin!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for almost a week and it pretty much had all we needed. We were gone all day, as he was an artist in the Hockaday Plein Art at the Park Show, and 90% of our time was spent at the Park - which was about a 25 minute drive. The bed was very comfortable and very clean. Bathroom was small, but worked fine. Kitchen was very well equipped but counter/cabinet space was limited. Wifi worked fine but TV didn't have good reception so hubby couldn't watch the news or anything for that matter. The family staying there while the owner was out of town (family matters) was very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful setting, quiet (except for the occasional fireworks nearby - pre 4th of July) Nice place and would recommend. :)

Everything was terrific...thanks, Patricia. A great place to escape to with your dog, so close to Glacier NP. The only negative aspects were the big mosquitos! LOL
