Boothbay Harbor Area Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom 1 Bath Cottage

CONTACT OWNER FOR SPECIALS! Welcome to SeaGlass Cottage in East Boothbay! Nestled between a steep hillside and the edge of the Linekin Bay, at SeaGlass you will be surrounded by stunning beauty and immersed in nature. Just to the north is Perch Cove which is home to the lobster boat, "Eleanor Grace", and is renowned as a striped bass fishing hot spot. The cottage faces west and you will enjoy some of the most stunning sunsets that you will ever see right from your bay window. Look south and to enjoy panoramic views of Linekin Bay with its abundance of lobster and sail boats, and you might even spot our Osprey, some loons or a seal or two.

There is an incredible 200' long deep water dock with a large sundeck and sitting area that has a swim ladder, and can accommodate anything from a kayak to a large boat. At low tide there is a large 250' private rocky beach area (this area is underwater at high please don't think white sandy beach), that is great for beach combing, digging for clams or catching crabs. Bring your water shoes!

The cottage itself loaded with charm and filled with nooks and crannies. It features an open floorplan with high pitched exposed beam ceilings, and is covered in wainscotting. Seaglass was professionally decorated and features high quality linens, towels and area rugs. There is also high speed internet, WIFI and a 32' HD TV. The main bedroom, on the second floor, is open to the first floor and is accessed by a small spiral staircase. It has beautiful pumpkin pine floors, a high pitched ceiling and great waterviews. The second bedroom is accessed by a ladder and is a small sleeping loft. It has a queen bed and two small dressers. There is also a screened-in porch which has a daybed, 4 cushioned chairs, a dining table and fantastic views. The bathroom is very small, has a small door and has a shower only. The shower is a little larger than a typical camp shower but has a low ceiling. It might be uncomfortable for tall persons.

This location provides an incredibly peaceful retreat to get away from it all and relax, surrounded by some of the most beautiful views anywhere. But, if you are looking for more action, it is only 4 miles to Boothbay Harbor, which is home to many fine dining and casual restaurants, shops and galleries. It is only 3 miles to the popular Ocean Point where you can relax on the rocks and take in the breathtaking views. One of the areas most scenic hiking trails, The Linekin Preserve, is only 2/10ths of a mile away. Also nearby is the Boothbay Country Club, the Maine Botanical Gardens, and numerous boat excursions including whale watches, schooners tours and trips to Monhegan Island and Ram Island Light House. It is also a great home base for daytrips, with much of the mid-coast's favorite attractions within an hour's drive.

***IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: The setting for the cottage is stunning and unique. It is literally built on a rocky ledge at the bottom of a steep cliff, and sits right beside the edge of the bay, but there is no way to drive a car down to it. So guests park up by the owner's property and walk down a more gradual, grassy slope that goes around the steeper part of the hill. The total walk is about 75 yards long. We have a couple of carts to assist with luggage and supplies. For this reason, access to the cottage for those with mobility issues would be extremely difficult.

The setting may also be inappropriate for young children, due to some steep drop offs.

Parking is limited and there is no room for RV's large trucks or trailers.

The large dock, known locally as 'Daddy Long Legs' is also home to a local lobsterman's skiff and to our personal motor boat. Although, we will occasionally walk by the cottage to access these watercraft, we consider the dock and the area surrounding the cottage to be your private space and spend no additional time in your space at all, other than the passing through for access reasons.

This property is managed by Chill Vacation Rentals. We hand pick our properties to ensure only the highest quality. All are high-end waterfront cottages that have down bedding and great linens. Our cleaning standards are second to none. If you want an immaculate waterfront cottage with all of the charm of Maine and every amenity you could ever need, please see our link below, or google "chill vacation rentals boothbay" to see more information.

About Pam Cunningham

Growing up in Ct, I spent alot of time vacationing in Maine and always wanted a home here. I absolutely love the area and am so happy to share this beautiful part of the country with my guests.

Pam Cunningham purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Pam Cunningham chose Boothbay Harbor Area

I love the peace, serenity, and the interaction with nature. There are 3 osprey that make their home on Perch Island, and many types of ducks, gulls and birds that feed here. The tides are amazing and the view changes constantly. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking and the only other houses you see are across the water. I also like the fact that the waters of the bay are very functional and usable. One can boat, fish, swim and kayak. The dock is huge!

What makes this cottage unique

The dock here is really like a pier. It juts out into the middle of the cove to the deepwater, so we don't have to worry about timing the tides for boating kayaking or swimming. The views are just spectacular!

Perfect Getaway for Two

  • 5 of 5

Seaglass Cottage was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend our 3rd anniversary. The property was very cozy with everything we needed for our stay on the Maine coast. Everything was clean and comfortable, right down to the awesome bed linens (the best linens we've ever had at a rental property!). Pam and Kelly were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome.

The view of the harbor is breathtaking, and there are lots of nice outdoor spots for you to enjoy it, including a huge dock and a nice table on the porch. If you have to be inside, there are tons of windows from which to enjoy the ocean and wildlife. We spent almost every night reading in the screen porch.

The cottage is a short drive to Boothbay Harbor and is also convenient to lots of other great spots on the coast, including Portland, Freeport, and Bath. If you're looking for a wonderful place to get away, you won't be disappointed with this gorgeous spot.

Hidden Harbor

  • 5 of 5

Tucked into a harborside perch, this was the perfect location for our annual seaside respite. The cottage and surroundings were well represented by the photos and Pam was a gracious host. We have stayed all over the Boothbay area and this is certainly a property that we highly was tough to leave.

Sea Glass Cottage: A Gem!

  • 5 of 5

The Sea Glass Cottage is a great place to spend time with your family at the shore. When you first walk down the steep path, you will notice two chairs overlooking the ocean, the view is so peaceful. A few steps down is the Sea Glass cottage. The cottage is small and white with a front porch with a table and two chairs. When you walk in you will find a friendly screened in porch, great for enjoying some appetizers, or having quality family time. Then, when you go into the main part of the house, There is a cute living room/dining room. To the right, there is a whimsical spiral staircase leading to the soothing master bedroom. Past the staircase, there is a neat little cot in a tiny little nook, but I wouldn't recommend sleeping there, maybe just read a book there for peace and quiet. In the kitchen, there is a stove, an oven, a microwave, and a sink. In the small bathroom, there is a shower, a toilet and a sink, stocked with toiletry items. Then, up the ladder, perfect for kids, there is another adorable bedroom in the loft with a full sized bed. The hosts provided everything we needed. they had sheets, towels, flashlights, list of tourist attractions around the area, services, and they prepped the house with things needed to get started. Out on the huge dock, we saw harbor seals, schools of mackerel, striped bass, a cuttlefish, lobsters, hermit crabs, and snails, and an osprey. I recommend going to the Carousel Music Theater, for a great meal and show. The waiters and waitresses/cast members sing for you while you eat, and they have such good voices! I also recommend going to the Lobsterman’s Wharf, if you like lobster. I shared the twin lobsters with my sister. I recommend as well East Boothbay General Store. They have good donuts and cookies, muffins, and unique products. Overall, the cottage and the location is outstanding! I recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from the city or wants to get away in general. If so, this ocean paradise is for you!

Cozy bungalow by the sea - loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Where the ocean meets the forest - a beautiful bungalow by the sea that comes equipped with everything you need to drop your bags and start "chillin.".

If you are looking for a cozy cottage for two and an escape from it all - you will love this place.

Far enough out of town to feel like you are out of town but close enough to access it all in minutes.

So many great local spots for sight seeing, hiking and kayaking.

Doubt you would need anything but if so Pam and Kelly are happy to accommodate.

We are so excited to return next year!
