My Husband and I live in Phoenix and love getting away to the white mountains. We enjoy skiing in the winter and the beautiful weather in the summer. We have condos and cabins listed on VRBO available in Pinetop and Show Low.
The White Mountains is an ideal getaway spot because of all the lakes, mountains and outdoor activities. It has the ideal weather in the summer as is almost 20 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Winter offers skiing and great snow. Our family truly enjoys getting up there on weekends since it is only 3 hours from the Phoenix metro.
We chose this property for the great view of the town. It feels like you're on top of the mountain!
The condo was great for us and our 2 kids. Close to safeway and starbucks. Close to the show low aquatic center and great park. The condo was very clean and kitchen was fully stocked. The washer and dryer were nice to have. The unit even had A/C which did come in handy one day. The condo was newer built so everything newer. Loved the cabin decor and quality furniture.
When I booked this place it looked beautiful on line and was a reasonable rate. My family and I decided to stay for a week and were excited to get some R&R. Our first night sleep was terrible due to the mattress being old and very uncomfortable. So my mom and I decided to flip the mattress since we had many more nights to sleep on it. But this did not help! The nights were cold and all we had to cover up with was a sheet and a thin comfort. This place had no blankets! We called the next day to get blankets for our beds and they told us no one has ever requested blankets before! Are you kidding!!! I was ready to go out and buy blankets at Wal-mart and hope to be reimbursed by this place. By the third day a fire unfortunately had taken place not to far from where we were staying and we kept an eye out on it and hoping it was contained and be put out. As our day went on the fire grew and was getting much closer to our condo. I have two little boys who I had to think about and didn't want their life or mine at risk. A local had shared with us that our condos were in pre evacuation mode since their was no news to watch and or anyone informing us. The owners of this place had no clue this was even taking place since they lived hours away. By 4:00 pm many people were evacuating their homes since only one highway was open and gasoline had run out. My family and I all quickly evacuated and couldn't even go home due to the traffic and road closure. We had to drive an hour in another direction pass 3 different cities to stay in a dump and be away from the fire safely. We were all exhausted and mentally shut down due to the scare of the fire. We had stopped for food and received discounts the hotel gave us a discounted rate due to the fire also. We were accommodated by others! But when we called the owner the following morning to get our money back just for the days we paid for and could not use due to the fire she said NO way! This was ridiculous and my family and I were out over $350.00 for the days we could not use due to evacuation. We were so disappointed in not getting anything back and will NEVER stay here again! Everywhere else we had to stay gave us a huge discount since we were affected by the fire! My family and I would have been happy with a refund for only the days we could not use and that would have been the right thing to do.... This owner of the condo was just to good to do that!
Very nice condo. Well kept and nicely decorated. The steps to the second floor are tough if you are older. Very comfortable for four people. Great views of the beauty of the Show Low area from two balconies. One balcony faces east and the other west, so it's ideal to sit out and watch both sunrises and sunsets. The only downside of the entire week was the wild fires nearby which badly affected the air quality. We highly recommend this place.
The unit was immaculate, well maintained and nicely furnished. It was very comfortable, relaxing and peaceful. Convenient location to everything. We are checking our calendar for a return visit next year!
We've previously stayed at this comfortable condo which supplies all the necessary amenities for a relaxing get-away. Owner Sara Medina responded immediately to any questions regarding the well-maintained and nicely furnished unit. The views from this upper level condo are stupendous and nearby 180-acre Fool Hollow Lake is a beautiful modern state park excellent for picknicking. The nicely equipped kitchen and nearby Safeway make preparing meals 'at home' an easy alternative.
This little condo was perfect for our stay. We stayed in the off season (end of March) and it was sooo quiet and sooo clean. The views from both decks were amazing - sunset from one side, full moon rising from the other. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook our food. The full-size refrigerator helped keep everything cold. The bed was comfortable and the climate control was perfect. We did bring a couple favorite blankets and were happy we did. The bed has a nice comforter, but take something lighter if you don't want a heavy quilt.
We appreciated the excellent wifi - we streamed Netflix at night with no problems and were both able to access the internet on separate devices at the same time. It's really nice to have a washer and dryer availablem in the condo (they are quite small and noisy but worked just fine). Bring your own laundry detergent. Also, if you want to make coffee bring the small cone-shaped filters. We made do with the larger ones we brought but the others would have been easier
The manager was so kind to us. We had a last-minute change of plans (the relatives we planned to visit in the valley had norovirus) and she got the cleaning person to clean it early so we could come in one night early. This made our trip sooo much easier! Less packing and unpacking!
There's a road next to the condo complex that leads into the national forest and has a hiking trail close by. The sunsets through this forest are beautiful. The condo is sweetly decorated with a western/mountain theme that is not overdone. It's a few miles from the busier part of town but we liked that. I honestly can't think of anything that would have worked better for us.
