Well-located flat, we enjoyed our stay very much!

  • 5 of 5

The small apartment had everything we needed while we were in SF, including a very nice professional grade kitchen. It was a fantastic jumping-off point for about 80% of our stay. We were able to visit Chinatown, Fisherman's Warf, Coit Tower - all by walking. There were an amazing amount of restaurants & coffee shops nearby. We walked and/or used Uber with no issues to visit all other venues which included the Golden Gate Bridge and Botanic Gardens. I really appreciated the flavor of staying in a neighborhood as opposed to a hotel. We'll stay here again if we get back to SF in the future!

Had a fantastic experience!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was perfect for us. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 16 and 12 year old children). We are seasoned travelers and have stayed in many apartments around the world. We felt at home here and could see ourselves living and working here. Thank you Tommy and San Francisco for making our experience extremely enjoyable.

Live Like a Local

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our pup stayed in the apartment for a week over the Thanksgiving holidays. After we resolved some communication issues with the owner regarding our assigned parking space, our week was dilemma-free. On foot, the apartment is convenient to the great restaurants and shops in North Beach and to the rest of San Francisco by car. We parked our car for the week and used Uber for all of our road trips. It was safe, efficient and inexpensive and eliminated the worries about driving and parking in an unfamiliar city. The apartment

is simply but tastefully decorated and is very clean. This was the 7th VRBO of our extended road trip and was by far the cleanest. And the view is wonderful. The only downsides: It's a hilly neighborhood. If you have cardiac or respiratory issues, these may detract from your enjoyment of the area. There is no "green space" right outside your door. If your pet is with you, the walk to the nearest park is several blocks away. Finally, the alleyway leading to the apartment needs better nighttime lighting.

Great place, location, and general experience

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this unit over 5 weeks in Jan/Feb 2014. The location is unbeatable - view of the Golden Gate and St. Peter and Pauls, walk one direction to the best Italian restaurants outside of Italy, best Chinese restaurants outside of Shanghai, the other direction to the best seafood and Peruvian (!) around. Hardware store close by, and a GREAT little grocery store 2 blocks down where you can get everything you need, local, organic, and good exercise bringing it home! Workout gym (Planet Fitness) 10 minute walk. The place was quiet, bed was super comfortable, kitchen was great, and it was even comfortable to work in (I was in town for work). Would be perfect for a get-away for two, extended work trip, walking vacation (I used Uber whenever I needed to go a longer distance).

The owner was responsive and friendly, and everything worked out well. A great experience.

The view! A true SF experience

  • 5 of 5

What a great apartment. Such a wonderful place to stay. You'll feel like such a San Franciscan scaling the hill and living tucked up, in, and away in an authentic apartment - WAY better than a hotel. The location is great - walk down to Columbus and North Beach, walk another direction to hit Chinatown, or over the hill to Embarcadero and the Ferry Building. Just stellar. There's 1/2 a second when you are getting up the hill that it crosses your mind to complain about the hill...but then once you're inside and enjoying the views it is SO worth it. You can see the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge from the front window. The apt is wonderfully furnished and styled, so comfortable and ideal. We were so enamored of the brilliantly designed bathroom (especially the sunken shower) and the fabulous economy size kitchen. Just wonderful. Our family consists of myself, my husband, and our little soon-to-be 3 year old. We all slept very well. There was room for the pack-n-play on either side of the bed. The bedroom is far enough away from the front room that parents can hang out and not have to be too quiet in the evenings - plus we used the vent fan on the microwave in the kitchen (adjacent to the bedroom) for white noise and it worked like a charm. I really recommend this place - as long as you have able feet, knees, hips you'll love it and get such a rich experience.

The perfect North Beach escape

  • 5 of 5

What a surprise! A beautiful flat decorated with contemporary furniture and even art pieces - we were charmed. Lovely kitchen and bath. Because this home is tucked away on a pedestrian path it is quiet and private - with great views of Peter and Paul's spires! Perfect location within two walking blocks of the heart of North Beach and with the garage parking below it was carefree - no parking hassles. Everything was perfect: highly recommended.
