Paradise during a crisis
We stayed at Hale Mana Kai Poipu during spring break and the onset of Covid-19 in 2020...what an interesting week it turned out to be. We arrived in Kauai with clear and simple instructions from DLissa on how to access the home. Everything was beautiful, clean, and better than expected. Sitting on the lanai with open views of the greenbelt and ocean are magical...you can hang in the sun or shade listening to the ocean and watch the local birds. During our time at Hale Mana Kai Poipu, we had some challenges due to weather and Covid-19 restrictions. We reached out to DLissa and got immediate response with helpful suggestions that made our week memorable. Looking forward to returning to Hale Mana Kai Poipu.
Truly A Week In Paradise
My family (4 adults, 2 kids ages 5 & 8) had a wonderful week in this beautiful home. The layout and generous size could have easily accommodated another couple, but it was nice to have room to spare. The home includes many items you’ll need for your stay: toiletries, beach towels, etc. The view of manicured lawn and ocean in the distance was the perfect setting from sunrises with coffee to sunsets with wine. It is only a 5 minute walk to the Hyatt if a guest needs to attend a conference during your stay, as did one of our guests.
D’Lissa was very quick and courteous in her responses and a pleasure to work with. Thank you!
A few notes:
- Air conditioning costs an extra $ per week. I missed that detail during the booking process. My fault, but thought I might mention it. We stayed in February and the home averaged 80-degrees indoors even with opening windows at night to cool things down.
- There are no beach chairs/gear available.
- No Blu-ray/DVD player.
- There are approximately 6-7 sets of stairs with about 3-4 steps each. One of our guests was healing from knee surgery and had a hard time maneuvering all week. Just be aware that there are many levels to this home.
Even with a few items ‘missing’ from our stay, we were pleased and comfortable with the accommodations. Poipu is simply the most wonderful place in Hawaii.
Beautiful home with a perfect location! Enjoy the amenities at The Grand Hyatt, see the ocean from the master, family room, kitchen and dining area. D’Lissa the property manager was awesome! To make this a real review, some of the beds are ready for replacement.
Wow! Great home away from home.
Beautiful home with a great view of the ocean. Resort activities & dining all within walking distance.
Wonderful week in Kauai!
This property is perfect for a family stay in Kauai. A beautiful view of the Pacific, short walk to beaches and sea turtles, shopping close by and all the amenities complete this fully furnished modern home. The agent, D’Lissa, was a joy to work with. We didn’t want to leave!
Hale Mana Kai is truly seated in a perfect location. It is right next to the Grand Hyatt Hotel and Shipwreck's beach, literally next door. Not only will you enjoy a breathtaking view of the ocean, but you will also have the ability to stroll, meander, jog, sit...at the ocean front and remember why life is worth living.
Hale Mana Kai is not only within walking distance
of The Grand Hyatt, Shipwreck's beach, but also within a 10-20 minute walk to world renown Brennecke's body surfing beach and Poipu family beach park.
Kalapaki Joe's sports bar and Brennecke's Restaurant, Nukumoi surf shop and beach rentals are also within walking distance.
Little Fish coffee shop and Poipu Shopping Village with local favorite eateries like- Pietro's Pizzeria, Keoki's Bar and Grill, Puka Dog, Bangkok Happy Bowl, Kauai Juice Company- are a 5 minute drive up the road. There is some great live music happening here.
5 minutes further takes you to Kukui Ula shopping center with restaurants like Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Tortilla Republic, Kiawe Roots, Bubba Burgers...and some great shopping.
CVS Longs Drugs is also located there.
A 10 minute drive will bring you up to Old Koloa Town for grocery shopping in local grocery stores; Sueoka store and Big Save.
There is also a wine shop, Koloa Fish Market, Post Office etc...
Kauai's famous Tree Tunnel (Maluhia road) is the path way from Old Koloa Town to Lihue and the North Shore.
If you head toward the west side, you will take Koloa road and will be able to see a sheep farm and cattle roaming along with horses. Absolutely wonderful! At the end of Koloa Road before you hit the stoplight, Warehouse 3540 is on the left, you will find a cool venue of food trucks and shopping.
