Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

The location is in the heart of Plymouth and allows you to get everywhere. It is very quiet and the sleeping was extremely restful, some of the best in years. The view was awesome and the layout of the building was nice, with a big front porch to sit and watch the harbor. Heidi and Newton were awesome very friendly and helpful. Will stay again in our next travels this way.

Winslow House

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the Winslow a house for the 41st Triennial of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants in September 2917. The location is convenient to the waterfront shopping and restaurant strip, all the attractions, the Mayflower Society house, downtown, etc.

If you are looking for a full cooked breakfast with a host who is always around,, this is not your place. If you're looking for a quiet room, to be left alone, a great front porch and a wonderful view, this is your place.

Cold cereals and fruit is available for breakfast in a quiet nook on the second floor.

Location! Location! Location!

  • 5 of 5

Heidi was an excellent host; very kind & friendly without being pushy or overbearing. She was very helpful with suggestions on where to go, ferry & whale watching companies. She lives onsite so any time we needed something she was easily and readily available.

The room is a perfect size for 2. The view was incredible! Perfect locatoon to sit and watch the boats, fireworks or just hangout. Decorated beautifully. Fridge & microwave in the room was very convenient.

We loved it and look forward to staying again!

Plymouth's Winslow B&B

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Winslow B&B over the Halloween weekend (October 2015).

We arrived into Plymouth's train station from Boston - beware! Said train station is located a few miles from Plymouth's town center, so if you're not driving *please* make sure you call a cab company (we recommend using the Mayflower Taxi company, 508-746-8294). An international traveller with no cell phone/reception? Simply use the complimentary Wifi on board the MBTA train to arrange an Uber driver via their app, or just email/call a local cab company in advance to pick you up!)

Plymouth itself is so charming. It is literally bursting with history! This is the place to be if you want to learn about Pilgrim/Mayflower/colonial history - from the historic Mayflower II replica, to the Plimoth Plantation 'living-museum' and the Pilgrim Museum. All absolute must see's!

Court/Main Street is full of lovely local stores, restaurants, bars and cafes. For dinner one evening, you have to try the Philly Cheese Steak stuffed pretzels at the 'Driftwood Publick House' (driftwoodpublickhouse.com)! Words simply can't describe these pretzels, but you won't regret it! Not a steak fan? They also come with chicken!

We also recommend Martini's Bar & Grill and (for a great breakfast/lunch) the Cornerstone Cafe - all on Court/Main Street.

The Winslow B&B itself is located just a stone's throw away from the town's center and the Mayflower II ship/attraction. The B&B is just beautiful - I could literally sit on the porch's rocking chairs all day and look out at the sea!!

The owner, Heidi was very friendly and welcoming, and we also got to meet her cute dog Jax!

Our room over-looked the sea and the Mayflower II - what a view! The room was clean, beautifully decorated - kitchenette (with a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator), two rocking chairs, a TV, toiletries and a very comfortable bed!

We couldn't pick out any faults with this place - from its location to local historic sites, to the charming owner and facilities, we would absolutely love to visit again!

Thank you Heidi and we hope to see you again soon!

Owner's Response: Hi Paul, I'm so happy you had a nice stay with us! Thank you for the excellent review. We are glad that you pointed out the difficulty foreign travelers have arriving by Amtrak from Boston to Plymouth or Kingston train station. The inconvenience for travelers without international cell phone service in the States cannot call for a taxi at these locations. I intend to bring this up to our local tourist travel information centers as I'm sure this has been a problem for other travelers to our area. I will also make a note of this on our HomeAway site for future travelers come to Plymouth by train. Please come again!
