OSLIL Cottage features a spacious Great Room (Living, Dining and remodeled Kitchen), artfully furnished with ceilings open to timber structure. Two larger first floor bedrooms also have open, beamed ceilings; both have full size beds and one has a private bath. The first floor third bedroom has a bunk bed and convertible full size sofa bed. Both bathrooms have bathtubs. Recently remodeled basement adds a media room with HD video projector & wifi smart DVD player, rec. room with foosball and air hockey and a 4th bedroom. There is a large outdoor shower, hammock, horseshoe pit and gas grill. A deck wraps from the front door and opens up to a spacious rear deck that borders Wellfleet Conservation Trust land. A trail from the backyard leads you to National Park Land with trails, Lecount Hollow Beach, the Cape Cod Rail Trail and best of all, PB Boulangerie Bistro and Bakery - YUM! The location can't be beat; the house is surrounded by woods and very private, but so convenient to the amenities, for both leisure and the mundane (gas station, convenience store, groceries, liquor store).

My family and I had been renting in Cape Cod with friends since 2004 in Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown. We love the ocean beaches, being away from it all, while also being so close to the bustle of Provincetown. When I first saw this property, as an architect, I knew right away that with a little TLC, it could become the retreat that brings family and friends together for many years. I was drawn to the exposed timber post and beam structure of this unassuming 80's ranch. The spatial quality created by the exposed timber trusses makes this house unique, and is a testament to the idea that spaces do not have to be huge to feel big.
Mary purchased this House in 2013
Why Mary chose Wellfleet
Location, Location, Location - close to the ocean, ponds and bike trail. Being surrounded by conservation and national park land gives OSLIL Cottage a very remote feeling even though it is easy to get to. To be able to walk to an ocean beach is a rare treat on this part of the Cape.
What makes this House unique
The property is very private and quiet, but there is easy access to the main road and one can walk to the French bakery and the bike trail without going out to a road! The interiors of the house are modern with a bit of whimsy. There is visual interest in the textiles and furnishings and the white walls accentuate and balance the dark, rough and heavy timbers.

Relaxing and quiet.
The property is set back in a corner of small developement. We had only one house we could barely see through the trees. The back really backs up to the woods. Felt secluded. Kids had great time walking to the rail trail along the path and one person did walk to and from the beach in relatively short time. Quick drive to beach to see sunrise. Great beaches on both sides of land. Loved the basement were kids played and watched movies on projector. Loved spreading out in the house, but we mostly stayed on back deck...great weather. Only negative is traffic to Provincetown and of course onto the cape. Plan ahead and learn the ways around traffic jams.
We just enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend in Wellfleet and our stay at Oslil Cottage was a real highlight!
The house is spacious and still cozy. Very clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed to enjoy our time. The easily accessible neighborhood is quiet yet still close to beaches and downtown.
The wrap around deck was great when spending time outside. We also loved watching movies every night with the projection set up - what a great feature!
Our host, Mary was very attentive to our communications leading up to and after the visit. Thank you so much Mary!
We will be back!
Great Home, Location, Family Place
We, my husband and I, had a wonderful week at Oslil Cottage with my daughter's family (2 kids under 6). It was clean when we arrived and there is a lot of space to gather. I have rented many times on the cape and have never seen such a well appointed kitchen for cooking. And we all loved the outdoor shower after the beach. We chose the location because it is so near to the Wellfleet ocean beaches we frequent as well as the bay for some beach combing. The lot is in a neighborhood but large and wooded so we felt wonderfully isolated. Being right on a walking path to a pond and right near the bike trail truly added to the value along with all of the toys and things for the kids to do (kitchen set, horseshoes, swingset, bikes). Mary, the owner, returned all of my communications more quickly than expected and was extremely helpful. We would all return in a heartbeat.
A fantastic cottage for families
We loved our 2 weeks at Oslil cottage in August 2014. It is so well-equipped and the abundance of entertainment for kids (slides, swings, horseshoe pit and basketball net outdoors and countless toys, art bits and board games indoors) made our 5 and 9 year old daughters very happy. It was very comfortable and had little extras which are always appreciated - very good bedside lights, lots of towels and blankets, a great and easily accessible washer and dryer (not dark basement visits needed), beach toys and boards for our use. The kitchen is also very user-friendly with everything you could possibly need and we loved thta we could take a short walk through the forest to get to PB Boulangerie or the bike trail. 5 stars for Oslil cottage.
Great house in the woods
The listing description was accurate. The house is very well located, just minutes from Wellfleet and the interesting places to visit around Wellfleet, including all the beaches and ponds. The house is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is large and has plenty of appliances that all worked well. Plenty of board games for the very rare rainy day. The neighbourhood is very quiet and we did not hear or see any of the neighbours.
Mary was a pleasure to deal with. Very responsive.
The house is good for a couple, and also a family. We stayed there with our two daughters and we all enjoyed it.
We regularly ate at Flying Fish Cafe, Macs on the Pier, PB Boulangerie, PJs, amongst others. Wellfleet Marketplace was very good to buy groceries and deli food. Nauset Farms in Orleans is also fantastic for food and has an amazing butcher and deli. We were regulars at Maguire Landing, as well as at Great Pond and Long Pond. A visitors parking permit is a must. Corn Hill beach on the bay side is wonderful for swimming with younger kids as it is warmer and has very small waves. We saw a play at WHAT (Wellfleet Harbour Actors Theatre), which we enjoyed. We also went whale watching from Provincetown and fishing (Cap'n Kid) from Harwich. The Friday night band concerts in Chatham are not the be missed - a real piece of Americana. Our girls also loved the square dancing on at the harbour pier.
Fantastic Cape Escape.
We definitely enjoyed OSLIL Cottage. We have visited Wellfleet on several occasions and we like this cottage the best. As you probably know, rentals on the Cape can sometimes be sketchy in regard to cleanliness and condition despite good internet pictures. This was not the case for OSLIL Cottage. It was very clean, in good shape and in an ideal location for our family. We could bike or walk just about anywhere and the kids loved the big yard to play in not to mention good WiFi. We also discovered Duck Pond was an easy walk from the cottage which was exciting for us. We will definitely stay at OSLIL Cottage on future trips to Wellfleet. My wife even recommended this cottage to another vacationing family who were not as lucky as us and were driving around looking for an alternative place to stay next year. Thanks again.
Walk to PB Boulangerie Bistro/Bakery and Cape Cod Rail Trail. Hike through Wellfleet Conservation land and National park trails to the Lecount Hollow Beach. Just south of the Wellfleet Ponds.
