Our log cabin sits on a bluff overlooking the East Shore of Muscongus/Webber Pond on a seven acre wooded lot. The main living area boasts an open floor plan (1600 sq ft) with cathedral ceilings, skylights, wood floors and a loft. A wood stove for warmth, gas lamps for lighting and a push button (electric start) generator to pump water, all encourage a slower pace. Kitchen has ample cooking equipment. Hike on woodland trails or 200 yards down a gorgeous path to swim, canoe or read on a raft. Located just one mile from the ocean. Kayakers can launch at nearby Muscongus Harbor or Round Pond. Excellent base for great day trips in Maine. Combines the essence of being in nature with simple amenities. A rustic, secluded camp in the Maine Woods. Experience Maine's ocean, woods and beautiful and sparkling clean lakes.

We invite you to our rugged yet comfortable cabin. You'll have running water, tested for purity by the State of Maine, and a full bath with shower. Comfortable bedding includes; one queen size bed, one full bed and two single beds. Plenty of pillows blankets and linens.

Relax and watch the sunset while listening to the loons on the lake from our screened in porch.

Note: if a family with children, there can be as many as six staying at the camp.

About David Rumpf / Anna DiMascio

I saw the coast of Maine in 1969 and decided I had to live near Maine so moved to Boston from Chicago. I bought the land in 1985 and had the cabin constructed in 1988

David Rumpf / Anna DiMascio purchased this cabin in 1988

Why David Rumpf / Anna DiMascio chose Bremen

The combination of quiet solitude and easy access to lake, ocean and nearby towns is unique. Many quests have commented on the quiet, ability to see the milky Way at night, the romantic glow from the gas lights, etc.

What makes this cabin unique

Quiet, free from the modern rush, no Wi/Fi or TV. Wonderful for family time together

Guestbook comments from the owner

"My Favorite (and Repeated) Vacation Spot"

David's log cabin is my favorite vacation spot in the us. I've stayed there five or six times and it's still not enough. The cabin is both beautiful and comfortable and here was plenty of room for all of our guests (ranging from nine to 60 years old). The view of the lake gets even better when we jump in and the ocean is just a mile away - something for everyone in our gang. With amazing privacy and David's hospitality, I hope to return there every summer. Enjoy!

We loved our stay here!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent our 1st anniversary and her 30th birthday weekend at this wonderful cabin. Off the beat and path with absolutely nothing but nature around. We took the canoes out everyday while we were there and saw a bald eagle on the lake each time, as well as the loons! We can not wait to come back and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday. This place should be on everyone’s bucket list.

Yet another wonderful visit

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth visit to this charming cabin. As a family with two adult children we really enjoy being off the grid at this quiet rustic cabin, allowing time to read and make art together.

Nested in the woods above a beautiful pristine lake the cabin is perfect for observing the amazing variety of mushrooms, flora and fauna. Days were spent swimming and sunning off the private dock. Evenings were spent star gazing on the pond and listening to the lunes.

Hoping to have the opportunity to return next summer and continue what has become our family's annual retreat reunion.

Our great escape

  • 5 of 5

Anna's and David's cozy little cabin does it again!

This is our third stay in this secluded cabin and we have come to feel like it our private escape.

The amenities are simple, which adds to the rustic charm of this place and also accounts for it being recognized for

being green and environmentally responsible. The pond is quiet and peaceful. Many loons this year and we were greeted by an owl in the woods. Perfect for the family to spend time cooking, eating, swimming, reading and drawing together. There are many lovely hikes and eateries nearby but we opted to explore the woods on the property and to buy fresh produce at the local farmer's markets and fresh seafood from the local fishermen and lobster pounds and cook back at the cabin.

A magical place

Great place to get away!

My wife and I stayed here on our anniversary. We had a great time. There is plenty to do just a short drive away, but you still get the seclusion we were looking for. We would recommend this to anyone.

Our New Family Getaway.

  • 5 of 5

This vacation spot is everything you want if you are looking to getaway and be unplugged. My family of 4 with a 8 year old and a 15 year old was excited to just do that. We had such a fantastic time with much needed family time without phones, TV, computers..... The cabin was beautiful the craftsmanship was amazing!!! We had enough room to have time alone time if the kids wanted to take a break from one another. We were even able to get a workout with the thanks to Toddy's Path. Anna Please put us down for next year!!!!
