The Island features a wide selection of vacation homes ranging from mansions that rent for $30,000 a week to the “JC Long” homes built following World War Two for returning veterans.  Grand Pavilion 58 is one of a few oceanfront homes in Wild Dunes Resort.    Where Grand Pavilion 58 is not a classic WWII home, it is similar in that it is designed to accommodate a family on a budget looking for a fun vacation where focus is on the family and not the house.   It is clean and offers comfortable bedding for 8 at an attractive rate.  Recent upgrades include new living room furniture, refinished hardwood floors and new carpeting throughout the home.   It does not have some the amenities or whistle and bells of neighboring homes that have seen extensive recent renovations, but will offer your family a nice place to stay oceanfront, for a week at the beach. Grand Pavilion 58 features an ocean front location, easy access to the Grand Pavilion Boardwalk, and wonderful memories at a discounted price. Location is everything at 58 Grand Pavilion and is the primary reason, next to price, in choosing this home which is ideally located in the heart of the Grand Pavilion, this home is close to the Grand Pavilion North Croquet Lawn and across from the Boardwalk. The Croquet Lawn is a perfect place for families to gather for a game of croquet or better yet a beautiful lawn to toss the football or kick the soccer ball.

The Boardwalk is the heart of Wild Dunes Resort and features two oceanfront swimming pools, beach chair and umbrella rentals, Duney’s Cafe, beach shop, and ice cream parlor. Entertainment can often be found on the Boardwalk during summer afternoons and evenings.  While enjoying your vacation at Wild Dunes Resort in Grand Pavilion 58, you will always remember the spectacle sunrises that can be viewed from one of the two oceanfront decks (partial ocean view from lower level) or the deer grazing at sunset on the dunes just in front of you while you enjoy a cocktail in the evening. Beach access is easy with paths to the ocean located to the left and right of the home. The lower level of the home features 12 foot ceilings, large deck with seating for dinner, living room, dining area, kitchen and one full bath adjacent to a bedroom with a queen bed. The second floor features an oceanfront master bedroom with a king bed and private bath. The master bedroom also features a oceanfront deck. A bedroom with two twin beds and one with a queen bed are also located on the second floor and both feature a private bath. Below the house is a large garage with plenty of room for your vehicles as well as room for an assortment of beach toys and bicycles, which you may want to bring or rent during your visit to the Island.  

Grand Pavilion 58 offers nice accommodations for oceanfront living at a wonderful price. 

The Isle of Palms, like all barrier islands, has a dynamic beach near the inlet that separates the island from Dewees Island. The ebb and flow of the changing tides, through the inlet, creates and moves sand bars just off shore. These sandbars will channel waves between them, resulting in the massive buildup of sand along portions of the island where other areas may develop temporary erosional hot spots. These hot spots will feature a sand beach throughout the day outside an hour or so before and after high tide. Where a dry sand beach may be limited in these few areas at high tide, walking either direction will lead to an area where the sandbars have created an expansive beach to enjoy at any tide.

Perfect for our family!!

We loved the location of this house; it was wonderful being just steps from both the pools and the beach. We loved the layout of the house, there was lots of space for us to spread out. And all the furnishings were very comfortable. We look forward to returning!!

Extremely Disappointed!

My family and I stayed at this property from 9/18 - 9/22. When my parents checked in, they were extremely disappointed by the condition of the home. My husband spoke to the property management company, who were extremely helpful and did what they could to help us improve our accommodations. A few other properties in better repair were offered; however, they did not work out as they were not ocean front, which my family had their heart set on. They did send a cleaning crew the next day to clean some of the stained carpets. However, air vents that were filthy were not addressed. In addition, I just cannot express how disappointed we were with the condition of the home. Based on the cost of this rental, I expected that certain aspects of the home would be well maintained, and this was simply not the case. There were plaster patch areas on some of the walls that had never been sanded and painted, the finish on multiple bathroom fixtures, such as the tub drains were worn off leaving the appearance of rust, which made me feel uncomfortable about bathing my baby. One side of the refrigerator was covered with rust, the paint was peeling off mutliple cabinets in the kitchen, we could not get the outdoor shower to work, the garage door out to the beach area was so warped that it would only open 1/2 way. In addition, we had a few issues with insects, including a silverfish one morning on one of our toothbrushes! Although I did not expect that the decor or finishes would be extremely up to date based on the pictures, I did expect to find everything in good repair and well maintained and this was not even remotely the case. I also felt a little misled regarding the accessibility of the ocean from this property - there were no stairs from the deck down to the ground level, there was virtually no view of the ocean from the main floor deck as the foliage was so overgrown, and access to the beach was difficult with the rain we encountered as almost every path was flooded. This was our big vacation for the year, and we were all eagerly anticipating it. The amount of money we spent was definitely not worth the experience we got, and I just can't express how much more enjoyable our vacation would have been if we had gotten the experience we paid for, or had the expectations we were shown based on the description delivered to us in reality. I would not rent this property again, and I can't help but feel a little cheated out of the vacation I anticipated.

The Team at Beachside Vacations attempts to match the expectations of the guest with the property they have chosen for their vacation. Through yearly photographs of the property and pricing, we hope that the choice to visit a home matches the expectations of the vacation. There are many beautiful oceanfront homes offered at Wild Dunes by the Beachside Team that feature renovated kitchens and bathrooms that have been professionally decorated. Unfortunately, this property does not fit this description, but it is a comfortable home that is in the ideal location and is one of the least expensive oceanfront properties in the Resort Community. The Beachside Team regrets that we were unable to match your expectations with this property. This winter (2014-2015) 58 Grand Pavilion is scheduled for a complete exterior renovation that will include the replacement of the windows, decks and siding. During this exterior renovation, the Beachside Team will work with the property owner to replace bathroom fixtures, replace bedding and repaint the interior. In addition, Beachside Vacations will work with the Resort who is responsible for trimming the top of the foliage (pictured in photo tour) in front of the home that protects this community from erosion and storms to enhance the lower level views. Location is everything and 58 Grand Pavilion can be found oceanfront in the most popular community on the Island. We hope with the exterior renovation and enhancements to the bathroom fixtures and paint, 58 Grand Pavilion will be an even better value with discounted pricing in 2015.
