About Karen Candage
Hello, my name is Karen and I was lucky enough to have been born on this most Beautiful Island called Mt. Desert Island off the coast of Maine. I got married and had a family. I have one son and 3 grandchildren. My son is a lobster men and my 3 grand children are also. 2 boys and a girl. It is a very hard job to do! Acadia National Pk. is located on the Island and it is simply breath taking. The entrance to the Pk. is just 1 1/2 miles from your cottage. So many things to do and see.
Karen Candage purchased this Cottage in 1972

The cottage was clean, comfortable, private and peaceful. The kitchen was large and well equipped. The location was ideal with close access to the park and the village of Bar Harbor. Our dog loved it too. This was our third year in a row coming to Acadia and it was our favorite stay yet. Thank you Karen.
Great place, great location
This was so much better than a hotel/motel. Very cozy with all the basic needs and more. Great location between Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor. Was great to be able to relax.
Comfortable, Comforting and Close to Everything
This property goes above and beyond to enable renters to feel at ease and pampered. My family has a long history with Bar Harbor and island rentals. This rental is rates high on our have to return and wish we could have stayed longer.
The owner, Karen is welcoming and just a lovely individual with amazing personal energy. From the first hello, we felt at ease and welcomed--she was delightful and we wish we had more time to get to know her.
This rental is close to the ocean and the park and Bar Harbor. Pleasantly decorated and comfy all around.
We have already secured it for next year!
A gem in Bar Harbor!
Karen’s cottage is centrally located yet quiet and private. We enjoyed all the comforts of home in the well equipped cottage. With the windows open, we could smell the ocean and feel the breeze.
Downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia are easily accessible. We really enjoyed the Jordon Pond Loop (trail) along with the popovers and orange cake. Another great spot is a cafe called A Slice of Eden - great coffee, breakfast, and pastry (try a sticky bun or a chocolate donut)!
We can’t wait to return to Karen’s place next year. As a host she is professional, warm, and welcoming. One of the best stays we’ve had with Homeaway.
(Did I mention that your dog is welcome?!)
Thanks Karen for a terrific vacation rental!
Hi Sam, thanks so much for the review. I’m so happy you enjoyed your stay at my cottage. And thank you so much for cleaning my cottage for me. I so appreciate it. I was so sick. You made my life so much easier that day. I hope I will see you and your husband again next year. Thanks again!👍
