Set on nearly 90 acres in the Terni area of Umbria, villa Vallefalcone offers comfortable accommodations in an idyllic rural location. The renovated six-bedroom farmhouse is surrounded by a vineyard, olive groves and a stud farm for an ever-changing view, and features plenty of outdoor spaces from which to take in the panorama. Its also convenient to several must-see Umbrian towns and a train station with trains to Rome every hour.
The back of the villa opens to a wide terrace, with several areas, both shaded and sunny, for sitting or dining. The pool, which has its own deck with lounge chairs, is just steps away, and an outdoor barbecue makes al-fresco dining a snap. Inside, a billiards room, plasma-screen satellite TV and DSL Internet access make for lively evenings.
Furnished in the traditional rustic style, the interiors of Vallefalcone are warm and inviting. The beamed ceilings, tile floors and large fireplace in the common areas have been preserved, and in the living room, sofas, armchairs and sleek reading lamps have been added for modern comfort. In the dining room, a farmhouse-style table, ladder-back chairs and painted sideboards have country charm. The roomy kitchen has a professional oven and convenient access to the outdoor barbecue.
The villa has three bedrooms with double beds; one has an en-suite bathroom, one has a guest bathroom and shower room, and one shares a bathroom. A fourth bedroom has a double bed and shared bathroom. The other two bedrooms are well-suited to children or teenagers who want their own space, as each has a single bed and a shared bathroom.
Stock the villa with provisions from the grocery store, just a 5-minute drive away in the village of Fornole. During your stay, take the time to visit the medieval walled village of Amelia and the shops and restaurants in Narni, both about 6 miles away. The Narni train station is 14 miles away; from there, trains depart for Rome every hour, or the city is a 66-mile drive. Its a 14-mile drive to Orte, a 28-mile drive to Todi and a 40-mile drive to Orvieto.

Villa Vallefalcone was superbly located for us and beautiful inside and out. We would return many times as we have with another villa however without air conditioning, in at least one or two bedrooms), it was desperately uncomfortable at night. Without A/C we wouldn't consider returning. (In summer at least).
the cleanliness of the villa was also not great, it was as if it had been closed up with no one staying for months. General areas and bathrooms were clean but the inside of the kettle was horrid and the sink plug holes were brown (came off when scrubbed), and the utensils by the oven were covered in dust and grease.
There was also a total lack of information about the villa; how to use the oven, what the fire was/how to use in kitchen, and the BBQ area.
Despite these things however our holiday was great, and aside from the air conditioning, none of these issues were insurmountable and the customer service from LR and home in Italy was second to none.
Great view and house in beautiful surrounding. Inside of the house was too hot, taps were leaking everywhere and dishwasher was out of service which was no fun with four little children.
The house is spacious and suitable for a large family or several families. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms to go around. The kitchen is well-equipped and the outdoor dining area is amazing. Our fondest memories of the house are enjoying a local wine while sitting under the large olive trees and watching the horses nearby.
