9 Bedrooms, 6.5 Bathrooms, 19 Sleeps
Spend a magical week or host an unforgettable event at Castello di Galbino in the countryside near Arezzo. True to its name, the nine-bedroom villa is a Tuscan castle with a square shape, round towers at the corners and Renaissance-era arched loggias. Gather for a wedding or family reunion, enjoy a relaxing vacation by the pool and gardens or use the property as a base to explore the region.
The castles lush, gated grounds are perfect for strolling, and a vine-covered pergola with seating is an ideal spot for al fresco dining. The swimming pool lies just uphill from the house, and theres an outdoor bathroom and shower for post-swim cleanup. Inside, the villas satellite TV, ping-pong and billiards tables and Wi-Fi access are up for entertaining large groups.
The Tuscan sun filters into the villa through traditional leaded windows, and original doorways lead from room to room. The cozy living rooms offer plump sofas and armchairs gathered around fireplaces, and high ceilings and neutral tones have an airy feel. Be sure to look up at the frescoes on the vaulted ceilings and explore the propertys chapel. Unlike castle kitchens of old, this one has modern amenities from a juicer to a dishwasher.
The villa has three bedrooms with double beds; two have en-suite bathrooms. There are two bedrooms with double beds, one with an en-suite bathroom, and three bedrooms with single beds, one with a bathroom with tub. The eigth bedroom, perfect for kids, has a three single beds and en-suite bathroom. From frescoes to antique furniture, each bedroom has something special, and all are outfitted with linens from local company Busatti.
Though Castello di Galbino has views of the countryside, its a 3-minute drive to the nearest restaurant and grocery store, and a 5-minute drive to the town of Anghiari. Bring your racquets to the tennis court, a 7-minute drive away, or explore the region from the train station, a 40-minute drive away. If youre planning to fly in, the villa is a 90-minute drive from the Florence airport.

A once in a life time experience.
My family and I had a lot of fun in Italy even tho we found it to be expensive. We rented four cars. All had GPS. We got lost anyway. Parking is difficult. Our family drivers are excellent, but, we ended with $500.00 in parking fines. ( In spite of how careful we thought we were). Tuscany is beautiful. It is more mountainous than I imagined it to be. The wine, the pizzas, the pasta, the gelato is outstanding. We liked the Italian people. We all enjoyed castle living. However, some of the bed mattresses were not as good as one would like. The housekeeper/cook (Nerella) was very helpful...and, a good cook! We enjoyed her.
