Gilberte and Alice are a mother daughter couple, thrilled to offer this charming village apartment for the first time to everyone seeking the true and authentic Provençal experience.
Gilberte has been living in Lourmarin for over 30 years. Born in Lyon, she was drown by the beauty and peacefulness of Provence. She first owned a small boutique in the village's heart where she was one of the first vendor to introduce the beloved l'Occitane products. She is now the proud owner of one of the oldest real estate agency in the village, and has been working in the real estate business for more than 20 years in the beautiful Luberon region.
Gilberte loves to entertain, and take care of her clients. Every person that comes through her agency enters as a customer and leaves as a friend.
Alice has been living in the San Francisco Bay Area for 4 years. She grew up in Lourmarin, where she went to the tiny village's pre-school, and Aix en Provence, where she attended all of her junior high and high school. After graduating with the bac, she moved to San Francisco to pursue a Bachelor degree.
Alice loves Provence, and is always so thrilled to talk about her beautiful place of origin to everyone she meets. Alice true love though is her cute little dog Harry.

It was a pleasure to stay in Gilberte's charming apartment in Lourmarin. Very comfortable with more space than we imagined, we are certain that we will return soon! This apartment is in the center of a beautiful Provençale town with excellent restaurants, interesting shops and easy parking. I enjoyed a rosé with Gilberte at Café Gaby, très agréable! We are already looking forward to the next visit.
We stayed at La Toupine in late October. It was just as advertised: charming, comfortable, convenient, and immaculate. We even had a welcome basket and bottle of wine waiting for us, so thoughtful. Communication with Alice and Gilberte was quick and excellent. The village, Lourmarin, has cafes and shops and is a great location for exploring Provence. This property is highly recommended!
Alice is the perfect hostess and has thought of every eminity in this adorable apartment!
A great apartment with everything you need to enjoy Lourmarin, which has got to be one of the nicest little places in Provence. Comfortable beds, privacy when you want it, ample kitchen space - a real opportunity to live like a local. We would happily go back anytime.
My Wife and I spent a lovely week in this apartment. We were delighted with the location and amenities. The small village of Lourmarin is a very friendly base for exploring the area. It has some very nice restaurants, cafes, and other shops. The apartment is very nicely located in the town, but very quiet in the evening. It is also very well equipped and nicely appointed. In addition, we have stayed at a number of these types of apartments and found that Gilberte was one of the best owners we have met. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
Thank you Alice and Gilberte. We had a wonderful time.
Staying in this apartment in Lourmarin was a great combination of a very comfortable renovated apartment within the charm of an old building. The description is accurate as well as pictures. We enjoyed the light and the rooftop, and the privacy offered by being on the top floor [up two flights of ancient winding stairs, not a problem for us but the railings are a must!]. Just about every little detail is attended to - very clean, crisp bed linens and a very comfortable bed, excellent heating system, nice furnishings, well-equipped and charming kitchen [coffee makers, water boiler, dishes, pots, etc.]. It was great to be welcomed with some local edible supplies, including coffee and teas, snacks, fresh fruit. By choice, we managed to cook in twice during our 4-night stay. Location excellent in a charming, very walkable medieval village. Lourmarin is a very good base to tour other medieval villages -- pleasant and quiet [October] but still good dinner choices. The Friday market was surprisingly expansive. Thank you Alice and Gilberte! We look forward to returning!
