This is a lovely Queen Anne style Adirondack home that offers a very private setting in the heart of Lake Placid. It is ideally situated next to the newly renovated Hillcrest Park and is only a two minute walk to the center of town's shops and restaurants.
This is a comfortable home ideal for large groups and families in particular. On the main floor there are two separate living rooms with televisions. Cable and wi-fi is available. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining area seats 12. There is a covered porch adjacent to the dining area suitable for outside entertaining. The main floor is completed with an entry foyer and a half bath. The front of the house is entered through a large wrap-around covered porch. The second floor features an ensuite master bedroom with king bed, large sitting room and private balcony. The second bedroom is large with a queen bed. The third bedroom is smaller and contains a queen bed. The third floor contains two large bedrooms. The one on the back of the house has a queen size bed and twin bed with a trundle and has excellent mountain views and a partial lake view. The bedroom on the front of the house contains one fullsize bed and twin bed with a trundle and big TV. This is a great room for kids. Again, great mountain views from this room.

Our names are Dusan and Magda Janak, and we came to this country from the Czech Republic and Poland 22 years ago. We very much enjoy living here and we especially love the natural beauty this country has to offer. We live in Keene, New York. My husband and I take pleasure in all outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking and golfing in the summer and downhill and cross-country skiing in the winter. At vacation time we like to take backpacking trips and cross-country excursions on our motorcycle.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011
We love Lake Placid, and think it is a wonderful place for everyone; from people seeking the peaceful serenity of the Mountains to those looking for outdoor adventures. We used to come here every year to enjoy the views and beautiful hikes and lakes. We love the High Peaks Region with its gorgeous views and hiking challenges; in fact, we love Lake Placid so much that we decided to purchase this house so that we can come here and enjoy it more often.
This house has a very comfortable layout for a large party of people. It has two living rooms, a porch coming right out from the dining room and nice little fenced in yard where you can allow little children to play safely. An outdoor fireplace allows you to enjoy the outdoors during cooler nights or winter months; and maybe even roast some marshmallows. And…location, location, location! The house is so close to all of the Lake Placid attractions including the Olympic Arena and the public beach on Mirror Lake, not to mention restaurants, bars and stores; all of this within walking distance from the house
Very happy with my stay. House was beautiful and very well maintained. Close to downtown. Definitely recommend to all and would stay here for my next trip.
Even though the temp was below zero for most of our stay, we had a great time at this property. We were 5 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 child and we had plenty of room and were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-appointed for our needs. The "game" room ended up being a hit since we were stuck inside most of the time. The main street was within walking distance and was great for restaurants, shopping and the Olympic museum, and the mountain and other winter sports were a short drive away. Two thumbs up!
We rented this house when we attended our sons wedding at the High Peaks resort in Lake Placid.
Our group comprised adults and children of various ages ,and we found the facilities at the house were more than sufficient to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable.
The owners were helpful and efficient in dealing with booking arrangements and our time at the property.
We would recommend anyone staying at this house.
Owners were very attentive and helpful. Great place for large groups. We had a great stay - no complaints!!
We stayed at this house on a recent ski trip with a group of friends. The house was much bigger than we expected and even nicer than it looked in the pictures. The rooms were big and the decor was perfect. Some of us had small children, so it was nice to have the two big bedrooms in the upper level and the huge master on the middle floor. There were even toys to keep them occupied. Nice hot tub and foosball table were also pluses. It was close to the shops, restaurants, and the shuttle to the ski slopes. The kitchen was well equipped. The only downside was there were two living rooms, so not quite as good as just one for a group that wanted to hang out together. I also didn't like that the dishwasher had to be done and emptied before we left. I have never had that requirement before and seems like putting them in and hitting start should have been enough, especially if we had wanted to hit the slopes early and leave. Had we not had young kids and had some people staying in the house during the day I imagine I wouldn't have been happy to wait for the cycle. However, the checkout was midnight which was a huge plus. The owner was easy to deal with and returned our deposit promptly.
We planned a weekend away for my in-laws and wanted it to be perfect. It was. The house was spotless and everyone enjoyed a fantastic weekend. It's hard to beat the convenience of renting a house just a block from Main Street. Overall, a great experience!
