This one bedroom apartment is an ideal place to stay in the Tokyo area. The apartment is a short walk from Ookayama Station, which has both a rail line and a metro line that allow easy travel to all points in the city. And it really is close to key areas of Tokyo, including Shibuya and Shinagawa. There is a old-style shopping street right outside the station having many small restaurants, food stores - everything you need since it is the main shopping district for those living in the community.
The apartment itself is quite well equipped, with a modern look. The kitchen is compact, as normal in Japan, and includes pots and dishes. There is a laundry machine and poles on the balcony on which to hang the laundry to dry. The owner provides WiFi in the room and also one to carry with you when you travel around Tokyo. The bedroom has a single bed, but could accommodate a futon on the floor for a second person.
The owners take very good care of the apartment, and live in the same building in case you require some help. I strongly recommend it!
Wonderful, good location, safe and clean
Overall an excellent experience. I would not hesitate to rent this again. Note that I ended up taking a smaller 1 person apartment in the same unit owned by same hosts. Unit was small, but clean. Had new appliances installed. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Ookayama station is about a 3 minute walk away, and from there I had little trouble getting around the area. Access west (to Yokohama, Kamakura, etc) was especially easy (and less expensive) from this location. Area is quiet with a decent number of bars/restaurants - but nothing so extreme that it made the location hectic at all. There were two grocery stores right by the station, which made shopping and cooking a breeze.
This apartment was located very close to the station, very clean and very comfortable to stay at. My son and I enjoyed our time back in Japan. Thanks to Clint and Sachiko for providing such a wonderful apartment at a reasonable price. We will be back!
Clint and Sachiko's apartment is clean and conveniently located on the Yokohama side of Tokyo. My wife and I spent ten nights there in July 2014. It has all the amenities and is located just a few steps from a train station, in a nice little urban community, close to a lake and park.
Great value for money - small by Western standards but very spacious for Tokyo, especially considering the price. Clean and tidy and covers all the basics. Very close to the train station for easy access to get into town with a supermarket right by the station as well. Perfect for our trip - thank you.
