The Top 10 Lodge is a beautiful chalet style cabin built in 2009, located on 771 acre Big Lake of the famous Cisco Chain of Lakes consisting of 15 lakes and 270 miles of shoreline. This lakefront property can be found on county highway B, 12 miles west of Land O' Lakes and approximately 13 miles northeast of Boulder Junction.
This beautiful cabin consists of hardwood floors, 2 bedrooms plus a loft. It has 2 bathrooms and can sleep at least 7. There is a large deck for grilling and relaxing lakeside that also includes a picnic table to enjoy dining outdoors. The property is 3.7 acres and 200 feet of lake frontage for privacy and recreation. Our lakeshore has a sand bottom that gradually deepens all the way to the end of our dock. It is a GREAT LOCATION for kids to swim and play, or fish at the end of the dock. The dock itself is long and sturdy to keep your boat stationed throughout your visit.
There are numerous activities in the area to explore and experience. The Cisco Chain of Lakes is known for wonderful fishing; Musky, Northern Pike, Walleye, Large/Smallmouth Bass, and panfish.
The Sylvania Wilderness and recreation area is located near Watersmeet, Michigan and has 18,000 plus acres of forest for those who want to hike, fish, canoe, picnic, or view mother nature. It is part of the Ottawa National Forest which consists of 1,000,000 acres of forest that extends from the south shore of Lake Superior to the Wisconsin border. Areas of interest include Black River Harbor, Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness and numerous waterfalls to experience. Further north in Greenland, Michigan you can take a COPPER MINE TOUR at The Adventure Mine Company that is an experience in itself.
Boulder Junction has a multitude of bike, mountain bike and hiking trails for exploration and if your family gets tired of that there is more. Tennis courts, a basketball court and a small skateboard park are located there too. There is also the CHAIN SKIMMER WATERSKI SHOWS usually on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings 3 miles north of Conover Wisconsin.
There is a vast collection of activities to experience in this area that makes it truly a wonderful place to get away. But one of the best activities can be sitting on the deck, watching the Ducks swim by or the Bald Eagles flying above and DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT RELAX.

The cabin and property were very nice! Although it's more suitable for a family with young children, the place worked out fine for the six adults on our trip. Very clean both inside and outside. A beautiful lake with lots of fishing and wildlife watching. I'd suggest McCormick's Marina for a fishing boat or pontoon boat rental. They have very reasonable prices which made our trip even better.
The Top 10 Lodge is a little slice of heaven in the great Northwoods. We arrived on 8/15 to beautiful skies and an impeccably clean cabin with a breathtaking view of Big Lake on the Cisco Chain. The cabin itself is really nice - pictures really do not do it justice. There are two nice bedrooms on the main level and a loft above that has three built in beds and a nice big open space where one could put air mattresses if you had enough people to need that. There are two full bathrooms and a very nice kitchen with a nice big table with bench seating for eating inside. The deck is large and very good for sitting and reading a book, soaking up some sun, or (for us) keeping an eye on the kids as they swim or fish down by the pier.
We spent the first couple of days enjoying the sun, swimming in the nice sandy-bottom area right in front of the cabin and fishing off the pier. My 7 year old caught about a 14" largemouth bass the first night, and we continued to catch perch, bass, bluegills, sunfish, and a couple of rock bass throughout the trip. We rented a pontoon from McCormack's Cisco Chain Marina on Sunday and they were great to deal with - REALLY nice pontoon boat as well for the price. The weather was not great for the entire time we were there, but we managed to find some things to do - drove into Eagle River one day, spent a good amount of time in Boulder Junction (try The Headwaters if you want a nice dinner, and Gooch's A-1 Bar and Grill for a cocktail / bite to eat). The wife and kids really enjoyed our week up here, and I think we were all sad to head home at the end.
Steve, the owner, is really great to work with and promptly provided answers to all my questions throughout the process. We plan to come back for sure, and I could not recommend the place more!! Book it, it is truly a great place!!
My husband and our two girls stayed here for a week in July, and it was a fantastic experience. Even a month later, we still talk longingly about what the girls call "our cabin," and we can't wait to go back next year! The cabin and the deck are extremely clean and well cared for, and for a "cabin" seemed quite luxurious to me. The property has the advantage of having both a large yard, as well as a private beach. Being able to walk out of the door and right down to our own dock was amazing! Our girls, ages 3 1/2 and 5, spent HOURS wading and swimming in the sandy-bottom lake. And they loved sleeping under the eaves in the built-in beds upstairs. Due to the trees surrounding the lawn, the cabin is extremely private. Simply put, it was everything we had hoped for in a summer lake-front house!
Just returned from a week in the North Woods. Very relaxing. Super clean house, very tidy. Deck was very clean, for being outside (NO bugs hanging in webs etc.) Beautiful sunsets, and wonderful star gazing! Our family enjoyed the stay very much!! Rented a pontoon boat and toured the chain of lakes saw many eagles in nests with babies. Very nice.
Stayed a week with 5 children and everyone had a great time. The Cisco Chain is a very neat body of water and interesting to fish due to all the different structure and lake types. The cabin was very clean and of high quality. It is also close to the water and the adjacent trees make the deck and "backyard" very private/quiet. Steve was very helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. Plan on being back.
My family of five stayed at the cabin the week of July 20th, 2012. The cabin is very very nice. Nice and new. Very well outfitted as a rental. Steve was very easy to work with and seemed to really care that we had a good time in his cabin. The lake is very nice, as is the entire chain. Consider renting paddle boards if you have teenagers (Coontail Sports in Boulder Junction--reservations a must). I can't say a bad thing about our esperience or our dealing with Steve and the rental in general.
Go see the CHAIN SKIMMERS WATERSKI show, Conover Wisconsin. Experience how they use to mine copper without big machinery underground at COPPER MINE TOURS, Adventure Mine Company, Greenland, Michigan.
