I grew up in Montana and several friends were involved with and owned dude ranches, historical resorts and guide services - I guided fly fishing on the Yellowstone River through High School and College. I've always liked the idea of travelers coming from all corners to experience and share wonderful places. In addition, I’ve traveled extensively for work and have stayed in a wide variety of accommodations, making note of what I appreciate and look for in accommodations which I work to provide in my vacation rental properties.
We have had a vacation home in Rancho Mirage for several years and each time we had to head back to the Pacific Northwest, we found it more and more difficult to leave the desert and all that it so famously offers. Fairly recently, the opportunity arose to locate to the Desert as our main residence. I liked the idea of developing properties as vacation homes for clients to enjoy, but be able to come and go without having to deal with and worry about maintenance, opening & closing the vacation home, managing services, and all of the ongoing expenses of owning a vacation home. After much looking and comparisons, we chose Rancho Mirage, and specifically the Tamarisk Country Club area, for our vacation home due to its impeccable reputation for its safety, elegance, sophisticated yet relaxed lifestyle, a stunning setting and this neighborhood’s protection from the valley winds. We wanted a home easy to live in that was conducive to indoor- outdoor living & entertaining. In addition, we were looking for maximum privacy along with a quiet setting away from all main arterial traffic noises. We were very fortunate to find all of this along with the added bonus of an enormous lot that adds to the exclusivity and enjoyment of very private indoor-outdoor desert living at its best.
This home has been remodeled and set up exclusively as a vacation home....no feeling like you are camping out in someone elses home but instead your very own private resort....without all the people....I live just down the street - we love it here!
Scott was a great host and made sure the house was in great shape for our arrival. The home is perfect for a couple or small family and is very well maintained. Has everything as shown and is in a quiet neighborhood close to everything. The yard is very private, both front and back. Very comfortable and relaxing place at a great value. Will definitely return.
From arrival to departure Scott looked after any requests quickly and efficiently.Not that we had many requests.The home is set up with everything needed for an extended stay.Great location mid way between Palm Springs and Palm Desert.Restaurants and stores nearby.We biked every morning all over the neighbourhood for excercise.Kitchen set up for gourmet cooking.Pool enjoyed many times daily in the 90 plus heat.All in all a perfect stay
From the initial contact to saying goodbye on our final day, Scott was the ultimate host: friendly, accessible and informative.
The property is exactly as shown in the photos and comes equipped with everything: a kitchen with every gadget you might need; comfy beds; good quality linens; and, two bikes for cruising. The house was impeccably clean and in a quiet/safe neighborhood.
As a home base for Moderism Week, the property was perfect and I would highly recommend this rental.
Stayed here for a super weeks holiday in May. Scott greeted us, showed us how to operate the pool, spa, etc; then left us with his phone number in case we needed him. Welcoming, helpful but unobtrusive. Everything in the pictures is true. There is every amenity you could possibly want. Tip top condition, clean and quiet. It felt so safe here. The only thing that was missing for me was a flowering shrub to encourage the gorgeous butterflies and a humming bird feeder - they are so cute to watch. I cannot fault this rental and would not hesitate to stay here again. Had a lovely vacation. thank you Scott.
So sad to leave beautiful PS and this great property, we loved the yard, so private, sunny from 8:30am to 4:30pm with so little wind. The house was very cozy and comfortable for my husband and I. We felt very safe, the neiborhood is very nice and quite we always knew that Scott was available if we needed him but there was nothing we needed from the time we arrived until we left.
I know one thing that I would have liked to read in others reviews is the approx cost for the gas and elec that you are responsible for, so I thought I would include this in my review, for two weeks we paid $160, we turned the hot tub on 3X, did not heat the pool, it was so warm in the house we turned the heat off and did not use the AC, did not use the laundry, the circulating pump runs 6 hours a day, we cooked most of all our meals at the house, did not use dish washer, had lots of showers, and watched TV in the evenings.
We would rent again and would love to stay longer. Thank-you Scott
We just came back to reality(rain) after a perfect months vacation. We actually arrived 4 days early and even though Scott was in Chicago he went out of his way to see that we got in 4 days before expected. That was service plus. The stay was absolutely perfect and would recommend staying here to anyone. Scott thanks once again and hope to come back again
Tamarisk Country Club addition is a very quiet and safe neighborhood and highly sought after due to the natural protection from the majority of desert winds. The night desert sky has been thoughtfully preserved with very few street lights to showcase the amazing star viewing. The Tamarisk addition offers very quiet streets for morning and evening walks (or both!). A really great neighborhood for touring via bikes and beautiful landscaping and many architecturally recognized homes. From this home and neighborhood there is easy access to Palm Springs Airport, groceries, shopping and restaurants and the annual Coachella Valley events. This home is centrally located between downtown Palm Springs and Palm Desert - just blocks off of highway 111.
