About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath with 800 feet of Lake Michigan Beach! Sleeps 8

Cedar Point Cottage Too, Perfect location to enjoy beautiful weather, beach, sand dunes, Pentwater shopping, and restaurants!! Recently renovated into the bright, cool beach cottage that we envisioned when we bought it! After having great fun for the last five years providing a relaxing vacation experience for wonderful guests renting our Cedar Point Cottage on the shores of Lake Michigan, we jumped at the chance to purchase another cottage in our beautiful secluded Lake Michigan neighborhood. Located on Lakeshore Drive, only two houses separate you from a staircase leading down to 800 feet of private association Lake Michigan beach and to fabulous Lake Michigan sunsets. The cottage has a wood stove, and a spacious deck from which you can catch glimpses of Lake Michigan through the trees. The first floor features an open living room and kitchen with two sliding doors letting in the sunlight and leading onto the deck. Also on the first floor are two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a washer and dryer. Upstairs there is a loft with two double beds and a full bathroom. Enjoy grilling on the deck, or making 'smores while sitting around the fire pit. Secluded, yet close to great restaurants, shopping, golf, and sand dune fun.

Stocked with everything you might need, allowing you to pack light, arrive, drop your bags, and head to the beach!!

Nice house

  • 5 of 5

This vacation was meant to be a "pup vacation" for us. We rented this house in October and had a very pleasant stay. We took our dog along and he did not want to leave the beach at all! i loved watching him swim against & with the crashing waves of Lake Michigan. We over packed groceries but this house came stocked with everything you can imagine all the way from spice to saran wrap! The house itself is in the middle of the woods so it gives a nice cabin feel as well. wee had outdoor fire every night. All in all, a great getaway.

This cottage is a wreck.

  • 1 of 5

We booked this cottage for a ladies get-away for 4 days. Believe me it is nothing like it appears. It's run down, there's no dining room table and the counter that you have to sit at to eat is crumbling. We had no heat. The owner was told & she sent someone out. It never came on after that. To make matters worse, the place was INFESTED with gnats. This was not a minor occurence. I have never seen so many gnats before in my life. They ruined the last 3 days of our vaca. were They got in our food, etc. They were everywhere. Obviously they have never sprayed. This cottage is NOT well maintained at all. You are given the bare necessities with hopes that you put up with it.

Owner's Response: The owner was contacted by this guest the day after check in- the heater blower was coming on but not the heat. A handyman was contacted, arrived, lit the pilot light, verified that the heat was working, and notified the owner that all was taken care of. This review is the first notice that heat issues continued. The heater is currently working fine. The guest also asked if a card table could be delivered, which was not possible. The owner agreed that a card table would be a nice addition to the cottage, and if the guest wanted to pick one up in town, she would be reimbursed. She did not choose to do this. The owner has since purchased a card table for future guest use. To play cards the guests put stools on both sides of a one sided dining counter, knocking decorative face brick off with their feet. This is not a problem with us, it can be reattached, but the crumbling brick the guest notes was on the side of a counter not really meant to be set at. The large square coffee table, or a square table brought in from the deck would have provided superior available options on which to play cards. The owner was not notified of a fruit fly issue. Had we been contacted we would have been pleased to move the guests to our other cottage, which was available on this fall week. Fruit flies have never been an issue in the past, and no determination was made as to the cause in this case, but the guests had put out cereal bowls full of red wine to trap the fruit flies. While the intent may have been good, the impact was not. The wine just exacerbated the issue. The fly issue was pretty quickly contained with removal of the wine dishes, and commercial spray. Cedar Point Too is a cottage enjoyed by many happy guests, as many reviews reflect. It provides great value in a desirable Lake Michigan location. It is not run down or minimally equipped. Guests are asked to suggest items that would make their stay even more enjoyable, and those items have been added as suggested and space permits- the card table is a case in point.

Nice Stay

We stayed 3 nights at the cabin. We enjoyed the location and accessibility to the lake. The cabin was set up nicely and had everything we could

have needed. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Decompress, Decompress, Decompress

  • 5 of 5

After a hectic spring/summer, we were looking forward to getting away. We found our stay at CP2 to be a simple, clean and pleasant place. Getting there is pretty easy, as it is located only 10 minutes from x-way. With that, it feels up north and away from the hubbub. It's location was great. Go south and you are at Silver Lake for dune buggy/jeep rides and lighthouse tour. Go north and you have pleasant town to visit of Pentwater....get a tee shirt or a cool beer. Go farther and visit Ludington State Park and visit another lighthouse, picnic, kayaking are just some of things to do. Usually every year we find a new place to visit. Next year could be a repeat

Wonderful private neignborhood

  • 4 of 5

we booked somewhat late and were able to squeeze in a 3 days stay. Well equipped and clean cottage. loved the privacy and the very private beach area. Beautiful sunsets. Very quiet and tranquil area but a quick ride to Pentwater if you want to shop. The stairs to the beach are VERY steep which would have been nice to know ahead of time as we were not familiar with the area. Picked this as it is a dog friendly beach but the stairs were very hard on our golden retriever. All in all a great stay!
