This retreat is perfect for couples and small families who have the desire to get away from it all. Come to one of the last Beach Communities that still offers the small town feel. We are known as the 'Worlds safest Beach'. Just 12 miles South of Santa Barbara and 90 miles North of LA. A winning combination of location, quality and price!
Why stay in a hotel/motel, or the suburbs that look like any other, when you can bask in the laid back atmosphere of a Beach community, with the smell of the ocean, less than one block to the beach?
The Condo is located in the quiet section of Carpinteria, just steps away from the beach, Bird Sanctuary, Dining and downtown shops, including our own local farmers market. We remodeled in Sept 2010, so be one of the first to enjoy this unit. Leave your car and associated traffic/parking worries behind. We even offer off street reserved parking.
My wife and I stayed here for a week. We had a wonderful time in Carpinteria. The town is so relaxing with many great restaurants of all types and a mellow beach to enjoy at our leisure. The condo was a perfect match for us. It was clean and comfortable with all the comforts of home. The beach and the downtown area were both within walking distance of the condo. We would like to come back again next year.
We had a fantastic family holiday staying two weeks at this place. The condo was practical and well equipped for four (including beach chairs and boogie boards for the kids) with a comfortable master bed. The location was perfect on a quiet street one block from the beach and everything in Carpinteria within walking distance. The kids loved playing at the beach, I found the morning walks along the shore south to the harbour seal colony just wonderful and my husband took the car to the tennis courts in Santa Barbara :) We really appreciated that the shoreline was accessible and without buildings for several kilometers. The little outdoor gym close to the beach was fun and we enjoyed trying a new restaurant most of the days, a favourite was the Thai Siam restaurant at 10 minutes walking distance. Carpinteria was also a good starting point for day trips to shopping and fantastic nature. The trip to the quiet Santa Cruz Island was astonishing: native foxes, beautiful views, hundreds of dolphins, occasional sea lions and migrating gray whales and - beyond all - a family of transient orcas, playing around the ship until the sun went down on the way back.
We had a great time. However, our first impression of the unit wasn't exactly what we were expecting. Apparently there was some confusion in the cleaning schedule and when we showed up, the place still needed to be cleaned. Phoned the owner and was immediately contacted to remedy the situation. Cleaning service came in and within a couple of hours the place was immaculate. The owner even worked with us to find a solution to the situation to ensure our satisfaction-- professional and timely. That's what you want.
The unit is smaller, but comfortable. The upstairs area fit our pack & play with room to spare. Could easily fit a family of 4 with 2 small children with the creative space-saving sleeping solutions. The best part about it is the location. Close to the water and downtown Carp. Nice quiet place with a super comfy bed. Would we stay again? Absolutely.
Stayed over Thanksgiving, and the place was everything promised. Clean, with great instructions. 2 minute walk to a beautiful, clean beach. Walked to a different restaurant for every meal, from The Spot (cheap) to Sly's (expensive). Morning coffee at the Lucky Llama was much closer than might appear on the map. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
This place was great well kept clean and everything you need is on hand.
We literally only had to bring food .
So close to the beach.
We will defiantly be returning hopefully for a longer stay.
Mark's place fits our needs so well, we've been back 3 times. The condo is near the beach and walking distance to the downtown area and state beach camping area. The condo is well stocked with whatever you may need for your stay, a nice kitchen, and comfortable beds. For two persons, it's perfect and adequate for a small family. With one bathroom, any more than that may be an issue. Having a TV in the upstairs master bedroom is a nice touch. The place was very clean when we got there and was easy for us to settle in. Mark is attentive to any communication with his renters. Aside from the occasional train, the sound of the ocean waves makes the the area quite restful. We plan to return.
Amazing place to stay in a great location close to shopping and the beach.
It is very clean with all the amenities and is perfect for a couple or a family of four.
Mark is very easy to get a hold of and always provided a quick response.
I highly recommend this for a couple or family looking for a peaceful vacation.
Shopping is within walking distance as are several restaurants. Park your car and forget it. There are two supermarkets and a Blockbuster video. Walk to the downtown area and explore the small shops. Have a bite to eat at one of the many little restaurants. Enjoy walking and relaxing on the beach. Explore sea life in the tidal rocks. At the south end of the park you can walk along the cliffs of Carpinteria. The Carpinteria Seal Sanctuary is located below the cliffs. The Rincon surfing area is located just south of Carpinteria. For dinner there are family and more expensive restaurants including BBQ. Santa Barbara is a few minutes away via US Highway 101, Amtrak or local transit. The Amtrak station is located adjacent to downtown with regularly scheduled trains to and from Santa Barbara. Local transit service is available at the Santa Barbara Amtrak station (very inexpensive). You can visit the Santa Barbara Zoo and even have a picnic there.
