My family and I had a great time at this property. It was clean and comfortable, the kids had a great time, and the owners were available. I would stay here again for sure.
Excellent home. Very clean and beautiful. The home was nicely prepared and ready to move into. We arrived late in the evening and the kitchen was stock with coffee and all the fixing. Would definitely return to the house.
What a lovely little gem. It is very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The outside living space is wonderful. There is an orange tree in the back yard with delicious oranges that we enjoyed each morning. I would stay here again if ever in the area.
From the moment driving up and seeing our personalized welcome sign, until we drove away, we could not have felt more welcome. Jennifer and Glenn are amazing hosts. We appreciated the wine they left for us, the beautiful market lights twined through the wisteria pergola, the large fluffy towels, big comfy beds, the fresh lemons and oranges we picked from the trees.
I was looking for a space to host 8 of us coming from out of town or out of state to visit Mom. Rather than visit in her small assisted living room, we wanted a place to spread out. This home proved so spacious and, with the open concept floor plan, we were able to visit and cook and dine without anyone missing out. The main living room comfortably seated all 8 of us. The first day we grilled steaks on the grill outside and sat around the pool visiting. That night a cold front blew in dropping the temperature by 20 degrees and, though we hadn't switched the thermostat from AC to heat, we woke up warm and cozy. This will definitely be our home away from home whenever we host our family reunions.
Great place. Lots of room, quiet, nice patio. The orange tree by the pool was a special treat. Oranges were ripe in late November. Easy walk to boiled shrimp and crawfish to go. Jennifer and Glenn were very accommodating.
It was chilly when we got there but the home heated up quickly.
Our family of four (my wife and I and two kids age 15 and 13) stayed 6 nights (Saturday, July 9 to Friday, July 15) and were welcomed by "liquid sunshine" (rain) as we arrived Saturday afternoon. The house is much larger than the pics show. You enter a hallway at the entrance that leads to the three bedrooms straight ahead (with master at end of hallway). If you veer right upon entry, there's a small alcove with a bookshelf filled with books. To your left, as you go this direction, is a living room with a huge coffee table upon which we played many games that we brought with us. Straight ahead is the kitchen and the door to the pool outside. To one side is the dining table and behind it is a sitting area overlooking the pool with a big window. The kitchen was big enough where the four of us could be in it at the same time and not run into one another. Through the kitchen, you enter the walking pantry where the coffee maker is located and beyond the pantry is the laundry room with a full washer/dryer (bring your own detergent/etc). The kitchen had plenty of dishes and glasses (may want to bring plastic cups if you have kids younger than mine). There was also a tv room outside the master bedroom that had a tv with limited channels and a poor signal so we didn't watch it much at all. The master bath had plenty of space as the walk in closet reached by walking thru it was huge! Overall, we truly enjoyed our time in Breaux Bridge! The salt water pool was refreshing and we could barely pull my 13 yo out of it! We made almost all our breakfasts at the house and about five other meals. We visited Lafayette (15 mins away) a couple of days with the highlight being breakfast at The French Press. We also visited New Orleans (2 1/2 hours away) with the obligatory breakfast of delicious beignets at Cafe du Monde and muffulettas for lunch at Central Grocery. Finally, we saw the Rosedown plantation in Saint Francisville (1 hr away) and were awed by the picturesque gardens and home! This rental home sits between the owners' home and their business so we met them and had several short pleasant conversations (so if getting away from everything is your goal, this may not fit your plans but didn't bother us). In Breaux Bridge, definitely eat at Buck and Johnny's for gumbo as Jennifer suggested but also have shrimp poboys at Le Cafe as they're phenomenal! Loved the home and layout as we were able to gather together but also be apart when desired. Thanks, Angelles!!!
