Beautiful house by the Ocean

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay for my Dad’s 80th. House is cute and well decorated for a beach house. Towels and sheets were included and the view is magnificent. A little pricey for off season but we enjoyed our time there. Thank you.

Thoughtfully and thoroughly stocked oceanside cottage that easily accommodated 3 couples.

  • 5 of 5

Who'd have thought a stay at this beachside cottage in October could rival that of early September? Well, it happened here, folks.

Our second time here, we found the cottage just as sparkling clean, sweetly decorated, and well stocked. Beautiful weather beckoned us out to the spacious deck, day and evening, to enjoy meals, conversation, and view gazing. The dining table indoors was easily repurposed as a card table for Canasta.

Given that we were 6 adults this time as opposed to half that in September, I was curious about how this 1 bathroom would flex to accomodate all of us. Well, the answer turned out to be "fine and then some". We easily managed showers without any drop in water temperature. The girlfriends had time to primp for the wedding and its many events. Local family stopped by for visits, too, and the central room accommodated all. We never felt crowded. Instead, we bonded!

Though we opted not to swim this month, we easily could have. Beautiful weather set up gorgeous outdoor walks. Each day we walked the short connector path to the beach and wondered at its views and changes of light. Yesterday we walked Ram Island's country road, feasting on views of Higgins beach, horses, cattle, changing foliage, and the ocean beyond.

Hats off to the homeowner who provided this family a vacation spot extraordinaire. Sitting next to me on the couch, my son just said, "Mom, we have to come back here!!"

Here's hoping,

Peg G and family.

Perfect location, house felt like home

  • 5 of 5

6 of us stayed here in September while in Maine for a bike tour. Karen's home was comfortable and tastefully done.... everything seemed fairly new. The deck is inviting and the view breathtaking. The beach is just steps away. We were so comfortable, it felt like a friend's home.

Karen was also extremely helpful and accommodating. There is only 1 bathroom, but it's new and well appointed so just schedule accordingly. And if hot water is important to you, you are all set. We all took showers after the race and they were great from the first to the last. Everyone in my group was thrilled with the house. Thank you!

This was the perfect Maine beach house. Very private, well maintained, and had wonderful views of the beach and surf. We hope to stay here again!

Very clean house in a secluded location

  • 5 of 5

The house is kept very clean and location is directly off the beach bordered on the front and side by a large field. It has a large deck overlooking the bay with an excellent and unobstructed view.

This place is really special... No, REALLY special!

  • 5 of 5

Are you looking for a getaway that has ocean views, beach access, big deck with comfy furniture, super tidy indoors, proximity to Portland and its cuisine extraordinaire, and an owner who is wonderful and more? Then look no further than 28 Ocean Avenue in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

Photos of this 3 BR do not do it justice. The view is quintessential Maine with fishing boats moored off sandy Crescent Beach with views of Richmond Island in the distance. Overlooking this jaw-dropping view is a spacious deck with comfy cushions which has a roomy yard for playing catch right at its feet. The path to the beach is right down from the driveway but hidden from the home itself.

Inside the house, you'll find the tidiest of tidy and the cleanest of clean. A small but serviceable kitchen includes anything you might need. Bedrooms are spotless and bright with comfortable mattresses, pearly white linens, and towels aplenty. The room with twin beds has ample space for a portable crib as does the spacious Master BR. The bathroom provides a large shower with an oversized seat; it's clean as a whistle. Beach equipment is at your disposal in the roomy detached garage. The organized full basement includes (who knew?) TWO pair of washer/driers. And the owner? Karen exudes helpfulness and so clearly wants you to love everything about your holiday there. She discreetly checked in soon after our arrival and mid visit. When this renter left something special behind, Karen offered a prompt and solid solution to its retrieval. We are already booked at this location for our next trip. Though I run the risk of the word getting out, the secret of this wonderful getaway must be shared!! Peg G 9/2017
