Blue Haven Villa gives you a true luxury island holiday with its fabulous location overlooking the sea at Bacolet. It overlooks the waters edge so has a wonderful sea view. It actually looks down on Bacolet Beach and provides a clear view along the entire southern coastline from Scarborough to Lambeau and Lowlands. The view at sunset is spectacular!
Inspired by Balinese building styles, the villa was designed and built to a very high standard with lots of wood and glass, and decorated with an south seas oriental flair to create an environment that is luxurious and unique, yet casual and relaxing. There are 3 connected pavilions, all oriented towards the fabulous sea view, with fully glassed walls facing the porch, spacious pool deck and infinity pool and the sea view. The central high roofed peaked pavilion contains the Great Room comprising the living area, dining area and kitchen. The Central Pavilion also has a full bathroom, a walk thru pantry area and a laundry room. The Master Bedroom Pavilion occupies the left wing, and the Guest Pavilion has the second and third bedrooms on the right wing. Each pavilion opens onto its own porch, which is oriented to take advantage of the sea views. The bedroom porches also provide direct access to the central porch, the pool deck and the vanishing edge infinity swimming pool.
The Master Bedroom has a King bed, while the second and third bedrooms have 2 Queen and 2 Double beds respectively. This means that Blue Haven can comfortably sleep up to 10 guests. Each bedroom is air conditioned with a split AC unit and also has a ceiling fan if you wanted to take advantage of the fresh ocean breezes. Each bedroom has its own luxurious and spacious en suite bathroom. The master bathroom and one of the guest bathrooms have separate soaking tubs as well as showers, while the other two bathrooms have a shower.
The high-grade kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and all expected small appliances for a villa of this quality, so you have everything you need if you wish to prepare any snacks or meals during your holiday. The kitchen has a stainless steel refrigerator, gas range, microwave, and dishwasher.
The Great Room area in the central pavilion is an open plan area comprising a living area with flat screen TV, a dining area with a dining set that seats 6, the open kitchen, and 2 sets of conversation or reading areas with 2 chairs and a small table. The great Room wall to the porch is fully glassed to take advantage of the sea view even when closed up, and two large sliding doors open the space to the porch for a great indoor outdoor feeling while letting in the ocean breezes.
There is a fully equipped laundry room if you wish to wash during your stay.
The large infinity edge pool and pool deck are designed to facilitate every type of activity - from tanning, lazing around in the water, having fun with the kids, or swimming laps, and all while enjoying the fabulous sea view. The pool deck has built in bench seating, as well as 4 loungers for tanning and relaxing poolside. A gas barbeque grill encourages outdoor cooking and Al fresco dining on the porch or pool deck.
If you wanted to truly escape, there is a small hideaway pavilion tucked away, overlooking the water's edge where you can sit and enjoy the view and breezes in total privacy.
Entertainment options include DirecTV service with a TV in the Great Room as well as in each bedroom. There is also a DVD player in the Master bedroom. There is also a Bose Radio CD player in the Great Room. The villa is equipped with wifi so you have full internet access.
Popular supermarkets Pennysavers and RT Morshead are within 20 minutes drive from the villa. You can purchase vegetables at the Scarborough market, just above the Wilson Road and Carrington Street intersections. Fresh fish is available every day from the fishermen at their stalls on the old Milford Road in Lambeau.
In the Scarborough area you will mostly find fast food and very casual eateries – Royal Castle and KFC are both located on Wilson Road in Scarborough, Church’s Fried Chicken and Chefs & BBQ are on the main road opposite the Port of Scarborough. Ciao Café is recommended for excellent pizzas and pasta – it’s located at the Y intersection between Hamilton Street and Northside Road, just off Carrington Road heading to uptown Scarborough. A wider range of casual and fast food outlets are found in the Crown Point area. Recommended places are Skewers (Arabic) and La Cantina (wood fired Italian style pizza). Recommended fine dining restaurants are Café Havana at the Bacolet Beach Club (just a couple of minutes away), Sea Horse Inn on Stonehaven Bay and La Tartaruga in Buccoo. For fresh seafood we recommend Fish Pot Restaurant, located in Pleasant Prospect. Sunday Buffet Brunch is not to be missed at the Magdalena Grand Hotel restaurant. Enjoy casual lunches and afternoon tea in a delightful casual ambiance by the sea at Shore Things, located on the old Milford Road at Lambeau - their Coconut Cream pie is to die for. If you are going for a drive to the Speyside area via the Windward Road, you must stop and have lunch at the very popular Jemma’s Tree House Restaurant. As its name implies, it’s partially built elevated in a tree right on the beach at Speyside. Hint: don’t go when a cruise ship is in port – it’s a “must stop” for tour groups.
The thing about this house is that it's in sync with the best parts of Tobago: sun, sea and breeze. And some surprises along the way.
I stayed for a week with my family of 7: a senior (85+), 4 adults, and 3 teenagers. A wide range of ages, but we all made some wonderful memories at this lovely gem of a place in Bacolet. The property listing and pictures do not capture how unbelievable the sunset is at this villa. Tobago sunsets are a real treat, even for us Trinidadians, and this villa certainly spoils you by giving you the best seat in the island — literally sitting on top of the bay, watching the ships roll in. Smack dab in the middle of the sunset. The sea breezes and gentle rains fill in the rest of the day — of which the walls of the house seem to magically disappear and it becomes the best place to read a book or take a nap or watch Netflix (internet is a bit come and go).
The house itself is clean and luxurious, but for me — it's the prime location over untainted Bacolet Bay which makes it charming. Our own little Maracas Bay. The beach is well protected and never crowded — a nice mix of locals who are great to talk to, and visitors from the nearby Blue Haven Hotel. The waters can get rough and lifeguard duty can be improved, but for the most it's one of my favourite places to swim. And also go crabbing. At night during high tide, you can see huge blue crabs sitting at the entrances of their holes. Along the bottom of the ridge, where the house is perched are a multitude of small enough rocks which you can climb and explore a whole marine ecosystem — collect hermit crabs and chase tiny fish and baby crabs.
I highly recommend this place for families and look forward to staying there again.
I rented this place with five of my girlfriends for my birthday. Theresa was extremely helpful and accomodating. The only downside was the wifi wasn't working and there was no working radio. The upkeep to the house could be better but nothing major. Aside from that the place was great and secluded. I loved the openness of the property and the fact that everyroom leads to the patio/pool. I would recommend this place and I would stay there again.
The house looked nice in picture..Was disappointed in the way it is being upkept.. It was not clean in a long time..Some of the cupboard had a awful sent.. When we checked in the pool had alot of leaves in it .. Also one of the bathroom toliets was not working and we was not told about this before hand.. The Cable TV was not working in this room also.. When it rained it was impossible to get from the bedrooms to the kitchen without getting wet.. not a good thing when u wake up an u need a cup off coffee...
The View is one of a kind to wake up too..I will give it points for that and when the pool was clean it was great..
Will like to suggest that the owners need to spend some more time in upkeeping the property an it will be a Great get away for those who visit..
We made the best of it an had a great time in tobago....
Decadent....................I could probably go all the way to Z and still have more superlative adjectives to describe this villa. I was burned before by booking a hotel based on pics from the internet so i was cautious, But when I arrived and was given the full tour I realised that this was indeed the real deal, there is no gap between what is portrayed pictorially and what is actually at the villa. We had a group of 10 including 4 kids ranging from 5 to 18 and as well as a couple of seniors and everyone was elated at the choice we finally made in booking this villa. It was money well spent and gave us some lasting precious memories. The proximity of Bacolet beach is a huge plus and the beach, though not Pigeon Point is a 7.5 out of 10.
If you want luxury, security, tranquility, accessibility this is the place to be. In our local parlance we say we get a 6 for a 9 when someone cheats , swindles or deceives us especially with a purchase of an item but I can safely say I got a 9 for a 9 this place is the real deal!
