Why Larry Van Liew chose Idyllwild
Our cottage is located up against the national forest and offers a secluded and quiet retreat for our guests. Being the last property on the street just adds to the mountain ambiance and privacy. It is not uncommon to see deer on our property.

Great getaway in the forest
The owner called us and invited us to check in early and that got us off to a great start. Cute cabin, very comfortable bed, good quality cookware( if you are cooking- Tommy’s restaurant is great for breakfast). Second morning saw a bobcat from the dining room window. Very cool, it was coming up from the stream (babbling brook close to enjoy) and walked right by the house. Would recommend and visit again.
Thank you for staying at Boulder Creek Cottage. We were glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that our amenities were to your liking.
How exciting that you were able to see a bobcat during your stay near our stream. It is quite a privilege to see such a beautiful animal. Only a few of our guests have ever had the opportunity to see one.
We hope you will stay with us again in the near future.
This cabin is a great place to get away from the city and just enjoy nature. There were many beautiful birds (including hummingbirds) visiting the bird feeders. The squirrels enjoyed cleaning up after them. We really enjoyed relaxing on the swing in the backyard. The sound of the creek and the view of the trees while swaying back and forth was enough to put me in a trance of pure relaxation. It was nice that there was a large supply of firewood for us to use. I would love to go back for another visit some time soon!
Amazing Cozy Hideaway!
Owners have taken so much pride and joy to set up this home for a relaxing getaway. Everything in this home was comfortable, easy and convenient. Super clean plus extras like coffee, tea and condiments. My favorite thing was having the annual parking pass so we could enjoy the hikes. Located at the end of a culdesac, up against some large boulders, this is a haven for rest, whether you are out and about during the day or hunker down for a relaxing time.
Great Place. Will be Back
Owners have a done a great job with the rental. It is tucked away from traffic and close to a creek. The cottage is well maintained, clean and the owner often checks in to ensure everything is ok. Will be back!
Just what the doctor ordered
Wonderful place to get away. Very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed coffee and books on the deck and nights by the fire.
The cabin is spacious and very clean. Absolutely everything in consideration of the comfort of guests has been provided. The linens are crisp and the bed comfortable and warm, plenty of towels and extra blankets, a fully appointed kitchen in which to cook or bake. The host is attentive and thorough and it was the most hassle-free experience - nothing for us to think about except relaxing.
We would highly recommend Boulder Creek Cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boulder Creek Cottage. The cabin was clean, well organized and stocked with everything we needed, including fire wood. The spacious attached deck made for great interaction with the squirrels and birds. We could hear the creek whenever we set foot outside or had a window open. My daughter and I made our way down to the creek and had fun exploring - thanks to the heavy rains it was flowing.
The location is a few minutes from quaint downtown where there are many restaurants to choose from as well as plenty of shopping. Several hiking trails are within a ten minute drive. We loved how peaceful it was and is a great getaway from the city life.
Thank you Larry and we are already planning our return trip.
