This property is centrally located and is close to the center of town, marinas, and only 20 minutes from the ferries. It is on the water and on the bus line. The house was updated in 2008 and has all the amenities for very pleasant experience.

We stayed at this place in early October which means rainy season, but with the house's many large windows (including skylights in the upstairs bedroom), we were able to watch the storms over the water from a very peaceful, relaxing, and warm house. The rain on the skylights upstairs made for an incredibly soothing night's sleep as well, but also offered a great natural way to wake up as the sun came over the trees in the morning.
The gas fireplace was perfect for curling up to next to a book, and our dogs loved the fact they could go out in the front yard and run around for a bit. In the morning we were able to go to not one, but two different beaches at low tide (look at the map - you're half a block away in two directions from two different sides of the island) and pick sand dollars, look for crabs, and enjoy the sunrises.
From this place, you're about a 10 minute drive from the infamous Vashon Island lighthouse on one side, and a 10 minute drive from the town of Vashon on the other, depending if you like to hike around or shop.
We had six people in the house and it still felt plenty big. We cooked up a storm and the kitchen was very well stocked with all of the utensils, pots, pans, beer and wine openers you could ever need, and the grill worked great.

The property needs major improvements. Front stairway was very overgrown making access difficult. Back lawn area consisted of dead grass and overgrown weeds.The inside needs much improvement and cleaning. Bedding and furniture needs to be replaced. The bathroom tub is definitely not "quaint" and needs to be replaced. I felt that photos on listing must be quite old and not a real representation of homes condition.
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Great location for walking along the beach and sightseeing. Also, close enough, by ferry, to Seattle, but far enough to be away from all of the hustle and bustle of the city.
The property is set right on the isthmus with a great view of the Quartermaster harbor. We could watch the tides go in and out. There were chairs and couches to sit out on the porches. The beds were comfortable, the claw-foot tub shower was great, the kitchen well-stocked. Reed was responsive to anything we needed. Not fancy, just very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
We are local residents who wanted a waterfront property to spend time with family visiting from the East Coast. This property was perfect. Great view, beautiful kitchen, comfy living room and bedrooms.

RENTAL RATES: Summer rates (June 1st through September 30th) are $150 per night or $975 per week. Winter rates (October 1st through May 31st) are $120 per night.
