Beaver Camp is nestled in dense hemlock trees on the banks of Beaver Creek stream. After a hard day of rafting, biking, hiking or fishing sit back and relax on our deck overlooking Beaver Creek or sit around the fire at our fire pit and enjoy your favorite snack.
You can enjoy the privacy of our cabin with the convenience of the areas most popular attractions just minutes away by car. The town of Ohiopyle just 5 miles away is noted for the famous Youghiogheny River where you can take a white water raft or kayak trip on the lower Yough or a lazy family float on the middle Yough. Don't forget your favorite fishing gear. The Yough and it's tributaries offer some of the areas best trout and small mouth bass fishing. If water is not your cup of tea the family friendly Great Allegheny Passage bike trail runs through town.
Other attractions include boating on the Yough Lake, touring the two Frank Lloyd Wright homes, and skiing at Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, and Wisp Resort.
Last but not least Beaver Camp is located adjacent to a private fishing stream owned and operated by Beaver Creek Anglers Inc. This prestigious fly fishing only stream is a hidden gem where you can spend a day and forget about the rest of the world. Call or e-mail for details, rates, and availability.

Secluded, beautiful setting
Five of us stayed at the cabin for 6 days. The cabin was more than we expected. Although secluded in the woods, it had many of the conveniences of home. There was a dishwasher, as well as laundry and a drier. Since we engaged in many wet activities, the laundry facilities were very useful. Although it was a wet summer, the porches and the woods around the cabin had almost no mosquito problems. There is a flat screen TV with lots of channels, but why use it when there is so much natural beauty around. There is no air conditioning. Although we were at the cabin in August, we were quite comfortable. We brought extra fans but did not need them.
The cabin has an outdoor fire pit as well as a grill. There is dry firewood under a tarp.
There is poor cellphone reception, but the owners made the cabin telephone land line available. When we were not rafting or hiking, we made use of the kitchen to cook the tasty wild mushrooms that grow nearby in profusion.
The cabin is affiliated with Beaver Creek Anglers and we had fun learning to do fly fishing. There were a lot of large trout in the nearby stream. We did not catch any, but we learned a lot from our fishing guide. (My home in Maryland is near a trout stream and I am going to practice my new fly fishing skills on the Gunpowder River.)
The cabin overlooks a creek so you can have a nice view while you eat dinner. You do not see other people unless you drive into Ohiopyle. There are hiking trails right near the cabin, but the river and waterfalls of Ohiopyle Park are a short drive away.
Great time in Ohiopyle
Four of us women friends spent a weekend in this cabin and had a great time. We don't fish, and I must say the cabin is certainly decorated for folks who are, even videos of past fishing trips. But we loved sitting on the deck listening to and watching the stream behind the cabin and walking in the area across the street that is set up for fishermen but also has lovely trails for walkers with no traffic. The cabin was well set up for us to cook and eat there, and lots of space for sleeping.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to our cabin. We were delighted to hear that you and your friends had taken the time to take a walk near the stream and enjoy the tranquil valley surrounded by hemlocks and mountain laurel. The cabin does cater to people who enjoy the outdoors, primarily fishermen, but anyone who loves the outdoors will find it an enjoyable place to stay.
Good place for Rafters, bikers and fisherman
We had a girls weekend scheduled for our stay at Beaver Creek lodge. It is rustic but the beds, 18 of them and cabin were clean. There is plenty of room for everyone with 3 dinging room tables and one kitchen. We loved sitting on the deck and having a glass of wine while we watched the stream go by. The fire pit was a plus too. The draw back was lack of ac and high humidity for the weekend we picked. We did bring extra fans. The cabin is located 6 miles from Ohiopyle and 10 from Fallingwater. Nemacolin resort is less than 4 miles away too and we enjoyed our spa day there. We had dinner in Confluence at the Rivers Edge grill and in Farmington at the Stone House. Both were excellent choices. The Rivers edge lets you bring you own wine for a $5 table charge. Rafting was a challenge and I would recommend doing the lower falls rather than the middle. Too much shallow water required much paddling . We had to get out of the raft to unstick it a lot.. All in all we had an fun time with many good memories.
Thank you for taking time to review your visit and the surrounding activities. Many of your recommendations will be helpful for future guests.
In relation to your recommendation on rafting the lower Yough, the area below Ohiopyle falls, is not for novice rafting. There have been accidents there with a loss of life.
It sounds as if you had a relaxing time and a lot of fun during your stay. We hope you can visit us again when the humidity is much less. Prior to your visit, our guests said they needed blankets at night in July.
Great place to get away and relax
I had a great experience staying at Beaver Camp for a friends' getaway and would highly recommend it to others. The owners and host were very accommodating and made sure everything was prepared for our arrival. The cabin is rustic, yet comfortable and equipped with everything you need to relax after a long day of rafting. The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, and cooking utensils. There are beds and eating space to accommodate a large group or family. The real gem is the back deck, which overlooks a gorgeous stream and forest. There are also large rocks in the stream bed that are perfect for reading, yoga, or just relaxing with a drink. Our only regret was that we could not stay another night to use the fire pit and enjoy the cabin a bit more. The lack of a/c was not a problem at all. Between the cool mountain air and the fans, we were using blankets at night in July.
We, the BEaver Creek Anglers, appreciate your taking time to review your visit at our cabin. It sounds as if you enjoyed your stay and also had an appreciation for the beautiful surroundings it has to offer.
We think it is truly a special place and are so happy you think so too. Please be sure to tell your friends about our place and even better, be sure to come and stay with us again when you get the chance.
Thank you again for your kind words.
Everything and More
I have three young adult sons and a serious girlfriend. We were looking for a place to stay for six adults (a bed for each young adult) to go white water rafting at Ohiopyle and celebrated my oldest son's birthday for the weekend. My son is attending WVU so we met at the Cabin. The Cabin was 5 miles from where we went rafting. We visited Kentuck Knob and rode the Zip line at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Ohiopyle was an adorable little village. There was more to do then we had time.
The Cabin was great. It is set back in the woods with stone steps to a beautiful creek, a large fire pit and plenty of room for everyone. The owners provided the linens and towels. I only had to bring food, drinks and clothes. The cabin was rustic and clean. It reminded me of my childhood growing up and a cabin my grandparents owned. We had a fire each night in the fire pit and sat around talking and laughing with my kids.
It had been so hot leading up to our stay at the cabin. I was concerned because it didn’t have air conditioning. When we arrived the ceiling fans and a floor fan were all on and it was very pleasant in the cabin. Even the loft was nice to sleep at night. The cabin is covered in mostly shade. No air was No problem.
Be prepared to drive to a grocery store. The closest one we found was in Uniontown 13 miles away. Stop and pick up major items before you arrive.
We didn’t have cell phone service at the cabin. At first we were concerned but we just used the cabin phone. Plus my young adults are 23, 22, 20 and 18. Their laptops worked, but they couldn’t use their phones. It was great!!! They had to spend more time together and talk to one another.
The owners were so nice to deal with. They couldn’t have been more helpful and kind.
I’m telling all my friends about this rustic jewel. We had so much fun and all of my kids thanked me for a great weekend.
Thank you for all your kind words, they tell us that these recommendations are helpful in renting our cabin.
We are so happy you had a great time and we thank you so much for taking time to write such a nice review.
Hope to have you again as our guest s.
