One huge double ended shower in the apartment and another one in the main house.Plus another bathroom with shower and two half baths.Open kitchen with living room and dining room combo. House has two nice size TV rooms with TV and DVD player and stereos. Large private patio off the back with Charcoal grill and propane grill with a huge privacy fence all around the patio area there is a huge picnic area with many tables and benches and a few areas are grassed and concreted also a lawn to play on in the back and in the front of the house....lots of room to run. Weddings & Proms welcome. Parking for many cars...... Must be 25 to rent!

Great place for a crowd

Great location and space for a large group. We were 5 families totaling 22 people and there was space for everyone. Kitchen is well stocked and house was clean. Owner was extremely responsive and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our ski weekend!

Karen knowingly rented a home to us that was in the midst of an ongoing bug and bat extermination. She has lied multiple times. This owner is the worst of the worst.

On arrival we saw that one of the two dryers was missing the start button. I took a picture of the broken dryer and sent it to maintenance man Mike. There was also no dishwasher, even though Karen had confirmed that there would be.

On our first morning I awoke to commotion because my brother-in-law had been bitten several times in his sleep by what we all believe was a bedbug. We have pictures of the bites, the bug and the blood stain from killing it.

We also took pictures of white powder that dusted the floors, base boards, bedframe and drawers of my brother-in-law’s room, a room which he shared with my sister who is 8 months pregnant. This powder would later be confirmed by both Karen and Mike to be a pesticide, albeit an alleged “nontoxic” one. I notified Karen. Very apologetic, she stated that she believed it was batbugs not bedbugs, because she had been working with exterminators to get rid of bats in the attic.

We spent our Christmas vacation washing, drying and sealing our clothes in plastic bags. Mike came over to (unsuccessfully) fix the dryer. Like Karen, he was seemingly apologetic & understanding. He confirmed the story about the bats and stated that Karen and the exterminators had been implementing an extermination plan. He was aware that rooms were being treated with a powder used to kill bugs and, like Karen, expressed his unhappiness that the powder had not been vacuumed up by the cleaning people before we arrived.

To “make this right”, Karen offered us a full refund plus a weeks’ stay free of charge at one of her other properties, Stanbrook Manor. We agreed and she told us that her assistant would put it in writing. Karen lied.

The day after checkout we were informed by HomeAway that Karen was trying to keep our security deposit for phony claims of damaging her dryers. Then came threatening texts from Karen stating that she is going to sue us for lost income and give us a bad review. “Don’t contact me no more” she said, "you ruined Christmas" and “this is now in the hands of my attorney”, only to attempt to call me moments later. I was advised by HomeAway to block her, which I did! Lastly, she emailed me what I believe to be a bogus report from an “exterminator” stating that there were no bedbugs in the bedroom (no mention of batbugs though!).

Owner's Response: Just to clarify a few things for you, The house was NOT in the midst of any extermination of any kind. You're family stayed for the whole 4 day trip as well as left late on the day of your departure. As we explained to you, the powder is not used to "kill bugs". After being in this business for over 10 years, I have learned that you should take precautionary steps before and after anyone stays with you. The extermination letter provided a name and contact phone number which you can call and verify that the report is NOT "bogus". Had anything had be found to prove your statements I absolutley refunded you with out an issue. However all of your claims were unfounded and you stayed for the entire rental period, so there is not grounds for a refund. HomeAway sided in my favor based on the photos of damage and reports from CatsEye/TERMINX. I do not find contacting an attorney to be a threat of any kind. As you can see, I have never had any kind of issues like this in the past and have always had good reviews. We have had 7 groups stay in the house since you had left have been completely happy and have not had any issues at all. They have even left us a 5 star review, as well as reseved for next year.

The house was clean and welcoming. Plenty of space for our group of 12 adults and 23 children. It was chilly at night and the individual thermostats in each room let everyone stay comfortable. The large field was perfect for ball playing and the country air delicious. Karen was very pleasant to work with and went out of her way to meet all of our needs. We would love to come back again.

We were there with a large group and the house was amazing!!!big large private grounds with no neighbors.its a nice an quiet area, gr8 for large family gatherings and groups. tnx alot karen for being so nice to us!!!!!!!

Large house in a beautiful area

I brought 5 families with some older folks and many kids. We all had a great time and the house was fantastic. Large kitchen area and plenty of beds for everyone. There is grill outside as well as a large eating space that can easily fit 30 people. Then there is a nice big grassy area out back to play in and everything was just fantastic. The area is also beautiful and refreshing being away from the city. On top of that Karen and Gio were super helpful and responsive. The trip was shortlived and exceeded our expectations. This is a wonderful house in a wonderful area that I would recommend to any large groups looking to relax and spend some quality time together.

Hunter Mountain is the top destination of all skiers and Zip liners and great for summer winter spring and fall. So much to do up here. In the spring come fly fishing and hiking; summer brings white water rafting, horse back riding, golf and all summer activities. Fall is great for hiking and hunting and winter is for skiing and snow boarding. We are a few miles to north and south lake, which is great for camping half mile to Hunter Mountain and six miles to ski Windham. There is shopping and antiquing. Walk to houses of worship and synogogue.
