About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

In the beautiful lakeside community of Tahoma, you will find a charmingly decorated cabin, waiting to offer you all of its wonderful amenities. Situated in the forest on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, this classic Tahoe cabin has knotty pine accents and beamed ceilings throughout. The furniture, as well as the decorative items have all been recently purchased to customize the cabin with a warm Tahoe feel.

The cabin is just one block from the bike trail, which runs along the lake to Tahoe City, and then along the Truckee River, ending up at Squaw Valley. Chamber’s Landing, which is just .2 miles away, has a beautiful beach and pier, as well as a fine restaurant and bar. The quaint town of Tahoma has a pizzeria, great restaurants, a country market, a coffee house, post office, and a video store. Also in the heart of Tahoma, an adorable community park is very inviting to the young and old. Along with the wonderful playground equipment, there are free outdoor movies shown on Saturday evenings, as well as non-denominational church services on Sunday.

The lovely West Shore has many activities to choose from. There is a Summer Music Festival, farmer’s markets, fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, boating, and much more. If you enjoy hiking, there are many wonderful trails close by; Desolation Wilderness, Emerald Bay State Park, and Alpine Meadows are just a few to mention.

During the winter months, Tahoma is amongst the largest selection of ski resorts in the world. Homewood is just two miles away, offering both skiing and snowboarding. Other close resorts are Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, Heavenly Valley, and Northstar. Cross country skiers will enjoy the many groomed tracks at Sugar Pine State Park, Royal Gorge, Squaw Valley, and Tahoe Cross Country. Sledding can be done near the cabin, as well as many other winter activities.

Come back and soak in the Hot Tub, or relax in the Steam Shower in the master bath.

No matter which season you choose to take your Tahoe vacation, we are assured you will enjoy this beautiful retreat as much as our family does. The relaxed atmosphere of the West Shore, along with a very inviting cabin, will leave you with wonderful vacation memories that will last a lifetime!

About Anne Power

I was born in Lake Tahoe and after moving away, I always spent my summers on the magical West Shore of Tahoe! I love to return as often as I can to my piece of heaven! My family loves to spend endless days on the beach at Meeks Bay, which is just a few miles from our cabin.

When we are at home in the Bay Area, our kids always say that we should go to our Lake Tahoe home. It is such a special place to share so many wonderful memories.

Anne Power purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Anne Power chose McKinney Estates

Our cabin is perfect for families, as well as couples traveling alone. The backyard is fully fenced, with a hot tub and BBQ. The master room has a steam shower.

The cabin is walking distance to Chambers Landing beach. We are a couple of blocks away from the bike path that travels into Tahoe City.

The neighborhood is very quiet.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin has three bedrooms, but two of the rooms have privacy from the rest of the house. This makes it nice for two families traveling together.

The backyard is perfect for kids. The hot tub is fun and there is a great swing set to enjoy!

Comfortable cabin

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks this summer. Overall we enjoyed our stay other than the downstairs television did not work. The owners tried to work with the cable company to get it fixed but unfortunately it didn't happen. The cabin was very roomy and would be great for a big family or two couples since there are 2 separate sections to the cabin. The kitchen is small but adequate and nice separate laundry room with large washer and dryer. The backyard area pretty basic, could use a new deck and table. Loved the location since we have friends in the area. So nice to be able to bring our dog.

Wonderful, relaxing cabin !

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I really loved this cabin. The interior is charming with lots of cute bear decor . The kitchen is well stocked with spices, oil, pots, pans, knives and plenty of dishware. Beds were very comfortable and lots of extra pillows and comforters. The neighborhood is very peaceful and you don't have far to drive to get to a deli or market for supplies. I especially loved the hot tub and steam - a great way to start the day or ease those tired muscles after a day of hiking. The fenced in yard was really nice for our dogs too. We felt so rested, it was hard to leave ! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely cabin retreat !

Weekend in Tahoe

  • 5 of 5

House was amazing. Owner went completely over the top with little touches. House was stocked with shampoo, a plethora of blankets and pillows, plasma televisions in the living room and bedroom and all kinds of cute cabin touches. Was completely clean and hot tub was in good condition. Owner was completely in touch the whole duration of the trip and provided lots of tips.

Perfect, peaceful stay!

We had a perfect birthday weekend for my boyfriend in beautiful Tahoma! The cabin is adorable with lots of local charm and a great deck out back. The cabin was everything I would want out of a Tahoe property with all the amenities you could ever need. We did the Rubicon Trail and the location couldn't have been more perfect with it just down the road in the same neighborhood. Our host was incredibly accommodating through the whole process and very responsive. We can't wait to go back!
