This house is built in the regional 'Sunday Haus' style, and is nestled on a hillside offering expansive views of the Hill Country. Located 4 miles from Main Street, and a short drive to shopping and restaurants, but offering the quiet solitude of the countryside.
The wrap-around porch provides a wonderful gathering place. The pond features a waterfall and attracts deer frequently. All bedrooms are spacious, with one on the first level, and a den and three additional bedrooms on the second level. Three of the bedrooms have queen size beds, and the fourth has two twin beds. All beds feature memory foam mattresses and Egyptian Cotton Sheets.

The first level has wood beamed ceilings and pine plank floors, while the upstairs has plush 'Berber' carpeting. A whole house water softener/filtration system has recently been added. Full size front load washer and dryer are available for guest use. This is an old Fredericksburg house that has been updated, but still maintains much of the old feel.

Fredericksburg was settled by German immigrants, led by John O. Meusebach in 1846. Although the settlement was on Comanche Frontier, the Meusebach-Comanche Treaty established lasting peace. Many older buildings retain traditional German and frontier styles, with over 700 historical structures in the historic district alane. Many are on the National Register of Historic Places. German is still spoken on occasions, and old German customs are regularly observed. Schuetzen Fests (marksmanship), Oktoberfest, Weihnachten, and Kinderfest, to name a few.
Visitors are attracted by the scenic beauty,, European atmosphere, and historic landmarks. Fredericksburg is home to the Pacific War Museum, and birthplace of Fleet Adm. Chester W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet during World War II.
Located close to, but not in town.
Easy access to many cycling routes.
Excellent star gazing opportunity.
Lot's of deer, turkey, many bird species, are often seen on the property.
Beautiful, relaxing views.
Large comfortable single family house.
Well appointed, beautifully maintained. A great fit for our family of 5.
We enjoyed the house for our family of 6.
We enjoyed the home. We weren't aware there was another home next door on the same property. It wasn't as secluded as we were expecting it to be. Some of the bedrooms rooms were locked so we couldn't use them, and there was a scaffolding on the side of the home in the driveway where repairs were being done.
Not a bad spot for the price. Everything was clean inside. Just be aware there's another home next door on the property.
This was the perfect place for our girls' getaway! The house is just beautiful and very comfortable. So comfortable that honestly, we had plans to do things throughout several days but one day we decided it was so nice on the porch, we just stayed "in" the whole day even ordering in dinner. The views are beautiful and so peaceful. Gavin was great to work with, everything was so easy. We definitely look forward to visiting again soon!
I booked a weekend at Oak Haven Haus with 5 of my oldest friends to celebrate my birthday. The place was impeccably clean and well equipped. The views off the two balconies were outstanding and we really enjoyed the seating areas on the covered porch with the sounds of the frogs in the pond and the rock fountain. Plenty of towels were provided, and the kitchen was well equipped. The beds were great, with nice linens. And the location was terrific, just enough off the beaten path to feel rural, but plenty convenient to the town of Fredericksburg with shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend. The only suggestion I could offer is to remove or tone down the automatic perfumed air fresheners inside the house. Many people have allergies and sensitivities, and one of our folks did. We moved them outside for our stay and replaced them when we left. Thanks for a great time!
The house was so adorable! Beautifully decorated and had a very thing we needed! It was close to town and still felt in the hill country! The views were incredible! Would hIghly recommend this property!!!! Thanks Gavin!!!!
