Come, stay on Bois Blanc Island, known by the locals as Bob Lo Island, 24,000 acres of relaxing “nature’s Paradise.” and 30 miles of shoreline.
Your vacation to Eagle Ridge starts when you get on the ferry operated by Plaunt Transportation (888 752 8687 ) departing from Cheboygan Michigan heading on the 45 min trip to the Island. During the Ferry ride, the true remote nature of the Island begins to set in. Once you arrive on the Island, we suggest that you stop at Hawks landing and claim you free ice cream cone for the the kids before you head just a short 6.8 mile drive from the dock to Eagle Ridge, for the start of your Island Adventure. The cabin sleeps 10, with a master suite downstairs and 4 sets of bunk beds in the upstairs loft that is divided into two areas with a bathroom in between.. There is a full bath on each floor, and a beautifully ceramic tiled fully furnished kitchen ( WITH 2 full size REFRIGERATORS ) for all the food you will bring for your relaxing week on the Island. Don't have to bring extra ice chests for you food. The main floor offers a family room with vaulted ceilings, TV, and leather seating. Additionally on the main floor, is a family dining area, screened/glassed in porch (no bugs).
For outdoor activities, we provide as they would say at 'LL Bean' a wickedly nice open porch and deck area with ample seating including two round tables with umbrellas, without a doubt the absolutely most fantastic and unforgettable star gazing you will ever experience ( NO LIGHT POLLUTION ), a Gas grill,) campfire pit, fire wood, and close beach access. You will listen to the waves crash all night long..
Since you don't want to get you car all scratched up, we provide an old Jeep Liberty ( as a courtesy, NOT part of you rental.. No pets in the jeep please..If the jeep breaks down, remember it is a courtesy only ..If available you are welcome to use it ) and 2 Mountain Bikes to help you explore the many different areas on the Island. This is the perfect way to see some of the more remote parts of the island that would be difficult to get to otherwise. A Canoe with motor and two Kayaks are there for your use, on the 'Big Lake' or one of the really neat inland lakes.
While the Island is quite remote by mainland' standards, all of your needs can be met without leaving the Island. There is a restaurant/general store that also sells gasoline and has Fantastic Pizza. There is a bar that serves food, as well. For those of you that just can't be without INTERNET service, the general store/restaurant offers free Wi-Fi service as long as you are participating as a customer. ( If you have a cell phone with Internet,it will work at Eagle Ridge on the porch )
Most visitors spend the day exploring the wilderness of the island; swimming, hiking, boating, fishing, and enjoying what the island has to offer. The perfect way to wind down is to relax in the cabin, perhaps admiring the true log cabin structure of Eagle Ridge, like the locally sourced handrail on the staircase, and sharing your day's experiences with others in the cabin. As your vacation ends, and you are on the Ferry back to the mainland, you will find that you will be eager to return to 'The Island' and Eagle Ridge.

Steve, AKA ' Uncle Steve ' has been coming to Bois Blanc Island for the past 15 plus years. So when he decided to retire from Ferris State University in 2003, he decided to take on a log home Dealership. Well when you sell log homes you need a demo home right ? Hold on, loving wife of 45 plus years has to buy into this concept of being away from home all summer on a beautiful island.. Not a hard sell. Eagle Ridge was built in 2006 and has been enjoyed ever since. Kyu Hui, pronounced Q-He, (brains of the outfit) was in charge of all the furnishings and ceramic tile work that went into Eagle Ridge... She is a stickler for detail and picky picky. We love sharing Eagle Ridge with families that enjoy the pristine nature of Bois Blanc Island AKA Bob-Lo
Steve purchased this cabin in 1996
Bob Lo is Heaven on Earth... Need we say more..
Twenty four thousand acres of undisturbed State land to explore. Four large inland lakes to enjoy, Hundreds of miles of intertwining trails and two tracks to be challenged. Thirty +- miles of beach to walk and enjoy.
The most fantastic star gazing you will ever enjoy.. NO LIGHT POLLUTION .. Peace and quiet at your beckon call. We could go on and on, but we think you get the idea.
We were very impressed with Eagle Ridge! The amenities were fantastic - Jeep to borrow, kayaks, and canoe, washer and dryer, spacious cabin. The new grill was nice, too! Everything was very clean and well kept. Kathy (manager) was a great resource for island tips, sights to see, amenities, etc. Our kids enjoyed the large loft. We enjoyed kayaking at Snow Beach and the sunset view of Mackinac Bridge on the west side of Bois Blanc. We had a great time!
This was the 2nd time we stayed at Eagle Ridge and 4th time to Bois Blanc Island. The cabin was clean, comfortable, well maintained and kid friendly. We came with 2 families both visits to Eagle Ridge and it worked well both times. We definitely made use of the kayaks and canoe on the inland lakes as well as Lake Huron, we also used the bikes a few times. Very nice to have those items available to use. Another amazing amenity is the washer and dryer, makes packing for the island much easier and lighter. When we travel to the island we normally bring a 26 ft. enclosed trailer with all our own toys as well, such as RZR's, 4-wheelers and paddleboards; there is a very nice place to park the trailer when not in use that is out of the way yet accessible.
Kathy was a great property manager, we needed to speak with her a few times while on the island and she was available without a problem. Bois Blanc Island is one of my favorite places in Michigan if not the United States and even after being there 4 times we are still finding new places and things to explore. We brought a new family with us this visit and they are already asking when we can get dates for next year. I would definitely recommend Eagle Ridge for a single family or a group, works well for both.
My husband and I rented eagle ridge for our wedding week! The manager Kathy was so sweet and helpful. (she took the time to leave a printed map of the island with all the best spots) The house was super clean, everything was new and nice. They have everything you could possibly need. The cabin is open and spacious we loved everything about it. I'll be renting it next year most certainly, I was so happy we went with eagle ridge!! I highly recommend it! Kids love the upstairs with all the log bunk beds! The porches are huge, and the 2 refrigerators are so helpful if you have more than one family staying there. Even the outside yard was great for my son to explore! It's worth every penny. Can't wait to spend a week there next year! 😀
We stayed at Eagles Ridge from July 24th through the 31st, 2016. We were very pleased with the log home upon our arrival. It is beautiful, clean and we'll maintained. We had 8 adults and one 6 month old and it was very comfortable for us. The quiet master bedroom allowed the 6 mos old baby to maintain her sleep schedule, making for a great vacation for all. We were all surprised that the home was air conditioned and it came in handy on a couple of the unusually warm days on the island. The caretaker Kathy met us there to provide information on the island and all of the homes amenities (jeep, kayaks and canoe). We did not see her again until the morning we left, but we knew she was close by if we needed anything or if we just had a question. We were also impressed by the post stay interview to see if there was anything that they could add to make our stay (or future guests) more comfortable. They seem to have covered everything. We will stay here again.
We recently stayed at Eagle Ridge with friends. Together, we had 4 boys ages, 11-16. The quietness of the area and low key traffic were so relaxing to the senses. You truly feel "in the woods" in the cabin. Everything from floor to ceiling is cedar and wood decor and the craftsmanship is beautiful. There was plenty of room in the breezeway for our coolers, and multiple pairs of shoes and miscellaneous gear. We rode bikes along the gravel rode a bit to explore, saw dozens of deer both doe and buck. Took the kayaks to Thompson Lake (too shallow/mucky really), then to beautiful Sand Beach and maneuvered around the two rocks in the water. The beaches along the south are not rocky as they are along the north and west. Only 2 other families were at the beach one day, most of the time it was just us. We enjoyed Taco Tuesday at the Tavern, ice cream at Hawk's Landing (plus a milkshake at the cabin) and game night at the Coast Guard Chapel. We drove in our own vehicle to the west end to watch the sun set, then attempted to get home in the dark along North Shore Road. It was beautiful but we recommend taking the jeep if you're going right at the cross up there, unless you want your car scratched up. The road is more of a bike trail really. But what an adventure! The house manager was pleasant and full of helpful advice and information. We did bring one roll of paper towels which we used up, plus the one provided. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed playing late night board games with all 8 of us around the kitchen table. The fishing was good at Lake Mary, unlimited amount of Rock Bass and if you're lucky to bring worms, you might catch perch. Stay at the dock long enough to spot the snapping turtles, they are big and enjoy eating the fish. Our kids stayed busy with excursions to the beach, fishing or making up their own games in the adjacent woods. Our dogs remained leash free and went on all our excursions. It was such a vacation treat for them to join us at the beach and the fishing dock. And they were even greeted with a treat upon arrival! We were thankful to purchase all our groceries and do a quick tank refill in Cheboygan before arriving on the island. There is not enough food to feed you for the week if you hope to shop at Hawks Landing, but it came in handy for one last gallon of milk. However, plan to eat a couple days at the restaurant or tavern for a treat. Thank you for the opportunity to explore BBi and live among the woods.
We loved our stay at Eagle's Ridge! The cabin was very clean and comfortable for our week stay of 2 adults and 2 children age 12 and 7. Kitchen had everything we needed. Everyone was so helpful telling us where to go for our first visit to the island. The weather was perfect mid July. The kids loved the fire pit and exploring the woods around the cabin. We went swimming at Snow Beach for the soft sand every day and went to other beaches for rock collecting. We went fishing in Lake Huron with a guide and had a blast! Caught 11 huge Lake Trout and Steelhead trout. Cooked them up for supper and delicious! Everyone was super friendly. Hope to come back next summer! What a bummer to return to the hot humid weather of Tennessee !
