This well maintained beach house will not disappoint any one. It is two full bathrooms and four bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is on the 1st floor! It has an amazing waterfront deck which lends itself to waterfront living. It has a beautiful awning which will protect you from the sun, yet allow you to be outside enjoying the view of the water. Located in a protected Bay between Pond PT and Welshes PT the water is inviting at both low and high tide. All you need is your flip flops ! Then step off this beachside deck into the sand and discover the world of Long Island Sound ~
We were there for my son's graduation from Yale. The property was comfortable and charming, in a beautiful area. We loved the deck and the grill too. The real stand out was the property manager, Cheryl Warren, who helped us when an issue arose and bent over backwards to make sure all was well. Any property managed by Cheryl will be a winner. The owner, Ginny, also was great. I highly recommend the home and the area.
Thank you for opening your home to our family! This house is lovely! Open space lay-out, very neat, clean and a beautiful kitchen. We lived here for the entire week just as if it were our own. Our family was visiting for the week to attend my cousins wedding on Woodmont Beach later that same week. Our family decided to make it into a family vacation and we all loved every memory we made while there. To make it an effortless vacation, we prepared in advance a detailed menu outlining breakfast, lunch and supper and we kept that menu on the fridge. Every morning we woke up and watched the oyster boats off in the distance while we sipped our coffee on the deck outside. After eating a delicious breakfast, we rolled out the retractable sun shade on the deck and took a long stroll on the beach collecting seashells and small pebbles of all sorts. The kids just loved sweeping the sand off the deck with the "beach broom" as we called it that was outside near the deck. Great idea! There were plenty of beach toys in the toy box outside to keep the kids busy. At high-tide, we would all be swimming in the ocean and enjoying the hot sun - be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen! We were Blessed with absolutely perfect weather all week! We used the gas grill on the deck to make most of our lunch - hamburgs, hotdogs, garlic bread and the home-made grilled pizzas were delicious! We ate all our lunch and supper on the deck since it was well equipped with a large glass table with 10 chairs. We hosted a luncheon on our gorgeous deck one afternoon for our extended family and it was lovely! We packed and brought an extra 6-ft table to accommodate more to eat out on the deck and there were 14 of us eating pizza and salad - just like old times! The adults and kids all enjoyed the boogie-boards and kayaks and they were used many times each and every day. Low-tide was quite entertaining and we could all walk out into the ocean quite far and still only be in about two inches of water. The kids loved it and it gave them more freedom to safely explore on their own. There were about seven beach chairs in the sand waiting for one of us to take a break from swimming. Every evening, we rolled back the retractable sun shade and looked at the millions of stars in the sky. Our family saw so many shooting stars! I recommend this beach house to you and your family in hopes that you too will create your own memories. We will definitely return. A must see and on the water!
This is a great house! We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend, and friends came up from NYC to meet us there for the weekend as well. We arrived to a spotless clean house with a perfect layout and plenty of space for both adults and children to enjoy the weekend. The deck is wonderful, perfect for eating meals right next to the beach, and the retractable sun shade on the deck was great. The beach is lovely at high tide, and at low tide there are broad shallow areas that are fun for playing, plenty of great beach activities! Would highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a spot for a family beach vacation.
I rented this great house for four days for my family and me (10 people and a baby) to celebrate getting my doctorate. It was the perfect relaxing atmosphere for us to unwind and spend time together. We made food each night, the kitchen was clean and spacious and had every utensil/device/dish you could want.
Everything was inviting and well stocked when we got there and the rooms were all very nice with air conditioning available in each one (but with the breeze in from the water we never had to use it).
Cheryl, the property manager was more than welcoming and was very helpful and responded quickly to all emails and calls.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.
I stayed here for a week as a vacation with family from England and then, at the end of the year, moved in for 10 months! I loved being on the beach and the house was great in the summer and I actually enjoyed the peace and quiet in the winter once I had worked out how to deal with the weather down there.
It's wonderful for kids because it's almost a flat-walk (ie only a couple of steps) onto the beach. It's a great deck and nice to sit there with a blanket even when it's a little colder. Not luxurious but I have stayed in a few places in the area and would go back. And a REAL dive bar 100 yards away - definitely not luxurious but 'convenient'.....
My girlfriends and I spent a week in August at this lovely home. It was perfect for us...neat, clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable, and the cool breeze blowing in from the ocean meant we could have the windows open and still be very comfortable. Didn't need the air conditioners at all. :-) Being fresh air freaks, this was decidedly appealing.
The open space of the first floor meant we could easily interact even if not all participating in the same activity. I might be reading next to the window in one of the great antique chairs in the living room, while others were at the table putting together a puzzle, and another was surfing the web on the couch, but we could all enjoy the space together and feel connected.
Two people could shower at the same time without a noticeable drop in water pressure. And we never ran out of hot water. The kitchen was fully stocked making cooking as good as at home. We ate dinner on the deck several times. The grill was great for cooking outdoors. It is a gas grill...which I considered a plus since we didn't have to mess with charcoal. Others might disagree, but it was so much easier to deal with. :-)
It is nicely located for good access to other attractions, if like us, you don't spend the entire time on the beach. It was an easy jaunt to Mystic Seaport--a little over an hour, traffic permitting And we made it to see the Nautalis as well as to the Weir home. Dinosaur State Park was pretty cool too---focus is mainly for children, but seeing actual dinosaur tracks was amazing.
Overall, we had a great stay. It was very nice and I would definitely stay again. Cheryl was great when it came to setting up our reservation, communicating about what was available and checking in to make sure we were happy.
The Town of Milford is very diverse. With 17 miles of beach we have become a ' Go To ' destination. We are an hour and a half away from New York City and two plus hours from Boston. We have become a central meeting place for many families. Milford, has a population of just over 50,000 people. Being down town you would never know the population is that great. The Town has all the amenities could could want. We have a Costco, Wholefoods and Trader Joes ~ all within three miles of the beach house.
The location of this home provides many activities for young and old alike. You may wish to play on the sand bars, swim, fish or just walk the beach collecting shells and sea glass.
We are close to the city of Bridgeport which features a small zoo called Beardsley Park Zoo. The city of Norwalk has a great Aquarium and some museums designed for childs play. The City of New Haven features Yale and many museums associated with Yale. If you enjoy live theater we have Long Wharf Theater and Yale Preparatory Theater.
Most of our Guests unpack and settle in to a quiet week enjoying the waves and sounds of the water.
