My husband and I just spent our first week as a married couple here in beautiful Waimanalo. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect honeymoon in Paradise. Some highlights - watching the sun come up over the water, checking out the view from Makapu'u lookouts, body boarding in the surf, and just relaxing. Thank you Vic & Karla for this memorable and perfect experience of Oahu!!
Convenient location, great beach access! The space was a little too tight for us, I didn't realize how small the one room really way,my bad! Not enough towels for 7days,we don't normally have to wash our own towels while on vacation, I actually bought2 new towels and left behind? The directions were confusing and maybe an actual map could be included with directions! After my MPS started working again,we got there after an exhausting travel day! Nice location just way too small for 2 people!
Great place, great host.... right next to the beach and nice cafes.... quiet and peaceful. Thanks Vic.
Good place, but a little tight for longer than a couple days. There was some confusion with the owner over our arrival where he messed up and blamed us initially, so he was perhaps not the most organized, but he was nice enough in the end once he realized his mistakes. And we appreciated his flexibility with the check in time. We really enjoyed the beach that was in walking distance! It was nice that they have beach chairs and such things that you don't get with hotels.
After a hectic week and a half in Waikiki on a business trip, it was such a pleasure to come to Waimanalo for the end of our stay! No crowds, quiet, friendly and the most beautiful beach in Oahu a 3 minute stroll down the road -- you can't really beat it and I'm still struggling to understand why anyone who comes to Oahu would ever choose to stay in tourist trap Waikiki when this place is right around the corner! Vic met us when we arrived and was a gracious host, giving us a quick orientation to the area and helpful tips for good local places to eat (try Ono's in town, kalua pig and malasadas nom nom nom;). The room and amenities were more then sufficient and we had everything we needed along with some unexpected (but much appreciated!) additions of boogie boards and beach chairs! Cannot say enough good things really. If you are looking to get away from the Honolulu/Waikiki madness than this is the spot. The drive south to get there provided some pretty amazing views as well and Waimanalo itself is very picturesque with mountains on all sides but the sea. Will definitely be back. Thanks Vic and Karla!
Perfect value, sweet little studio away from the bustle of Oahu, nice beach, quiet no nonsense town, owner VERY helpful and friendly (allowed me to drop off luggage early)
Our host timely met us on the property and gave us some suggestions for local restaurants (which were excellent!). The room was neat and clean. The room shares a thin wall with the garage, where the host's cleaning/maintenance person lives, so we tried to be mindful of our noise level. The room is small like a dorm room...not much floor space for our 3 suitcases, or counter space for our food items. But, who goes to Hawaii to spend time in the room? We visited a lot of beaches on O'ahu and found Waimanalo to be the best...mostly deserted during the weekdays, white sands - not rocky, plenty of shade trees, and great boogie boarding waves. This room was just down the street from public access to Waimanalo. Our host left a beach umbrella, boogie boards, beach towels and beach chairs for us to use. That was really helpful! All-in-all a good rental!
